Res-Q | Issue #15

You’re about to meet Frank Luber. You likely don’t know him, but you may have heard his voice on radio… and he’s met at least one of your idols. Frank was lucky enough to begin his dream career in the radio business at age 18, starting at WASL (now WYRE) in Annapolis. Having helped initiate radio station WCBM nearly 32 years ago, he’s met and interviewed an impressive number of celebrities, from Marlon Brando to The Beatles, to Martin Luther King, Jr., John F. Kennedy, Malcolm X, and more.

If you’re wishing you’d chosen a different career path right about now, let’s take a look at Frank’s journey to success! In 1968, Frank began as a weekend anchor and field reporter for Channel 13 WJZTV, contributing to the channel’s skyrocketing success to #1 in Baltimore.

In August of 1963, Frank covered footage of the March on Washington, when Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his, “I Have a Dream” speech. Standing next to Frank was none other than Marlon Brando, with whom he discussed social justice.

In 1988, he met the forthcoming owner of WCBM, Nick Mangione, Sr., in Little Italy when WFBR was for sale. After Mr. Mangione expressed an interest in maintaining Talk Radio in Baltimore, Frank helped broker negotiations for WCBM.

Frank was immediately brought on board to begin the start-up of WCBM All Talk Radio in Frank interviewing The Beatles in 1964

Baltimore. He began co-hosting with Joe Lombardo for two years, followed by another two years with co-host, Tom Marr. In 1993, Frank began a 27-year working relationship with Sean Casey for one of the longest, if not the longest, running morning shows in Baltimore history. Sean also works directly with Res-Q, hosting radio shows for years. When Res-Q started advertising on WCBM nearly 25 years ago, Frank felt compelled to try their products, starting with Res-Q 1250 omega-3. He felt the benefits right away and quickly added LDL-XQ10 red yeast rice in order to lower his cholesterol and avoid statins.

His doctor was blown away by the results. Frank accomplished perfect cholesterol levels in 3 months, encouraging his wife to follow suit. Frank informed his cardiologist and family doctor about the Res-Q line of products, particularly 1250 omega-3 and LDL-XQ10. Recent blood tests continue to show exceptional results.

Frank swears that Res-Q 1250 even helped extend his dog’s life! Shortly thereafter, his doctors mentioned hearing great things about Res-Q, and eventually got on board themselves!

In the years following, Frank has been enjoying partial retirement with his wife, Susan, taking the opportunity to travel whenever they can.

Frank continues freelancing with WCBM, recording radio ad spots, voiceovers, and other projects. He maintains his contribution to the news even still, writing for WorldTribune.com in Washington, DC.

Through the radio station, Frank was able to enjoy over 20 cruises and land excursions, reaffirming their love of the sea. But since quarantine, they’ve decided to stay stateside to see what our own country can offer.

Now, Frank and Susan are looking forward to planning their next trip—with their Res-Q regimen in tow!
