About Sun Ports Quality Shade Solutions Sun Ports® has been a market leader in the development of fabric shade structures since our foundation in Dallas, Texas in 1991. As one of the premier brands of USA SHADE & Fabric Structures, Inc., we have installed thousands of structures nationwide in an unparalleled diversity of market segments – everything from Amphitheaters to Zoos.

Safe shade has become an increasingly vital issue throughout the United States for the protection of both property and people due to unpredictable and often damaging weather conditions as well as exposure to the sun’s harmful UV-A and UV-B rays. Sun Ports products are cost-effective, aesthetically appealing shade structures that are used to shade Parks and Playgrounds, Schools and Day care Centers, Auto Dealerships and Car Wash locations, Aquatic Centers, Athletic Facilities, Stadiums and Amphitheaters, Hotels and Resorts, Retail and Community Centers and much more.

We are a complete Design/Build organization with in-house experts in Concept Development, Engineering, Steel and Fabric Fabrication, Project Management, Manufacturing and Construction. We manufacture virtually all of our products and components at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility which includes a complete steel shop, fabric cutting and sewing facility, and powder coat plant. Sun Ports structures are professionally installed by one of our numerous construction crews operating from coast to coast.

Sun Safety: The Value of Education Sun Ports is committed to improving the quality of life and making a difference in the communities we serve by educating the public about sun safety. Our well-trained Sales Team thoroughly understands every aspect of our innovative products and unique capabilities but perhaps, more importantly, they act as consultants to our clients with their expertise on skin cancer awareness, asset protection and community health. We not only improve our clients’ facilities in terms of architectural presentation, we enhance the overall buying experience by educating them about the many ways that our shade structures protect and add value to their project.

We are especially concerned with the benefits of safe shade for children who are particularly vulnerable to the harmful effects of the sun while at school, at play, or any outdoor environment where they may be at risk. Our Sales Team along with our UV Man® mascot have been spreading the word at schools, day care centers, parks & playgrounds, and community facilities about “shading the sun, while keeping the fun.”

Design & Engineering QUICK RELEASE Fabric Removal and Re-attachment System At Sun Ports, our modular and custom fabric shade structures are designed to be permanent installations. However, we recognize that some clients who face the most extreme weather conditions on a recurring basis may wish to remove their fabrics for safe keeping. For those few, we now offer our Quick Release option as a fast and easy way to remove our fabric tops.

The Sun Ports Design Development Department (DDD) was created to elevate the level of service to our clients by utilizing the most sophisticated 3D/CAD rendering and animation software available. This comprehensive visualization capability enables clients to better understand our company’s proposed solution to their requirements. The DDD complements our progressive approach to innovation and creativity. Our design team is composed of Industrial Designers and Architects who understand the fundamentals of shape, form and function; their creativity and technical ability enable the client to gain a unique insight into a 3D version of a concept suitable for construction.

Project Management Sun Por ts’ Project Management Department was created to handle the ever increasing size and value of our many custom projects. Project Management utilizes sophisticated organizational software to ensure that all our projects are completed in the most cost-effective, timely, and efficient manner. We strive to meet or exceed expectations with every client and on every project. Once a project has been sold and handed over to the Proposal Manager, Project Management is then responsible for taking control of all aspects of the job. Project Managers create schedules, handle submittals and approvals, maintain comprehensive communication logs, and manage costs and logistics, all in order to see the project through to successful completion. By taking ownership of the job, our Project Managers are able to guide the job through all critical phases to create a project that our customers regard as being the finest available anywhere in the world. As we continue to design and build more imaginative and innovative projects, Project Management will continue to expand our capabilities and bring great ideas into reality.

Fabric & Steel Fabrication Fabric At the core of all our modular and custom structures are the fabrics that we utilize to create some of the most architecturally innovative and aesthetically appealing fabric structures in the world. We use the finest materials available including vinyl coated polyester (PVC), Teflon® coated fiberglass (PTFE) and HDPE, a high density polyethylene mesh which can block out up to 96% of the sun’s harmful UV-A & UV-B rays. The fabrics are selected to meet the specific project requirements as well as our clients’ individual needs and desires. We offer a variety of materials with varying degrees of translucency, light reflectivity, UV and weather protection, fire retardancy and noncombustibility. Certain fabrics offer self-cleaning surfaces and all are easily maintained to preserve their appearance and ensure a long life.

Steel At Sun Ports, we recognize that the structural integrity and quality of our products are critical to the long term success of our business. Our combined 120,000 square feet of steel fabrication space is certified by the International Accreditation Services board (IAS) as meeting or exceeding, the highest standards of the steel fabrication industry. The plant has been custom designed and utilizes state-of-the-art equipment including robotic welders, computerized roll benders, custom swedgers, massive sand blast booths and powder coat ovens and booths.

Manufacturing & Construction Manufacturing Sun Ports utilizes sophisticated equipment to cut raw steel and fabricate all of our plates. Our welders are all certified and we employ a full time welding inspector to ensure that we always meet our internal and external quality standards. All materials are of the highest quality available and we require certified mill certificates from all of our suppliers. The plant is managed by a very professional and experienced team that focuses on quality, safety and delivery.

This team of fabrication professionals consistently produce structures that exceed our customers’ quality and delivery expectations.

Construction At Sun Ports, we offer the most experienced, well-trained and dedicated specialty construction professionals available in our industry. With numerous construction crews operating nationwide, we have built thousands of successful projects on time and on budget. We have highly skilled and certified rope access workers for our larger scale projects and are compliant with the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and registered with the US Department of Transportation (DOT) programs which attest to our high level of safety, quality and professionalism.
