508-336-9103 113 Taunton Ave WEXLER'S Seekonk, MA Same Location for 40 Years In Memory of our Pal and Fellow Rehoboth Lion Russell F Latham, You Will Be Missed.

In 1967 Russell Latham joined the Rehoboth Lions Club. Over the next 55 years, he became one of, if not the, key member of the organization. He presided as president of the club for two, one-year stints and held many district level positions including zone chairman, Region chairman, and Massachusetts District 33 Cabinet Secretary/ Treasurer. For the Rehoboth club, he founded and organized the annual Citizens Recognition Night, was our pit master for the Chet Munroe Chicken BBQ, worked with DR, Bristol Agricultural, and Bristol - Plymouth Regional high schools to organize scholarships from the Lions clubs. He is the only Rehoboth Lion to receive the prestigious Lions Club International Melvin Jones Honor twice. He put together the preliminary budget for the club every single year, handled the clubs email list which included sending announcements, at least once per month, to each of our 54 members. He handled our monthly updates that appeared in the Rehoboth Reporter and many more tasks that are impossible to be performed by any single Lion. The work he did will have to be divided among many current members of the club.
The mission of the Lions Club is to serve others and there isn’t a finer example of community service than the tireless work performed by our brother, Russell Latham. Words cannot begin to express the respect and admiration that our members held for Russell. When a new member joins the Rehoboth Lions Club, they are given a nickname. He was affectionately known as Egghead, owing to his academic background and intellect.
We will miss his tireless work ethic, his institutional knowledge of our club and his wit. We are saddened by the loss of this beloved servant from our midst and pray for him and his family. May he rest in peace.

Goff Hall, 124 Bay State Rd, Rehoboth
Are you a big reader? Do you like arts and crafts? Have you ever held a book in your hand and wondered how it got to be like that? Do you like history?
The Rehoboth Antiquarian Society is hosting a night in Goff Memorial Hall to explore the art and history of bookbinding. Come for an informative discussion, demonstration, and a chance to try out some basic bookbinding techniques for yourself! No previous experience is required!
The night will start with the history of bookbinding and examples of different styles of book creation from simple stitched bindings to elaborate covers. This will include a few examples from the Carpenter Museum collection. The discussion will focus on hand bookbinding. We will walk through sewing techniques, what makes a book a book, and what has, or hasn’t, changed through the years.
This event will include a demonstration of the basic steps of bookbinding, from finding the best tools, picking materials, cutting and organizing paper, to sewing the pages together.
After the demonstration, members will get to try their hands at some of the techniques and styles for themselves. We will walk you through the basic steps and you might even get to take a little something home with you!

High school students invited to attend zoom event featuring branch managers from local financial institutions
The Rotary Club of East Providence/Seekonk will host a “Financial Basics for The Class of 2022” event via zoom to teach high school students what they need to know about checking and savings accounts, the importance of good credit, budgeting strategies, loans and investments, and more.
The event, which is free and open to any high school student or parent, will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
A panel of local financial industry professionals will lead the presentation and answer questions, including William Francis, financial advisor with Edward Jones Investments in Riverside; Scott Haggerty, assistant vice president/branch manager of The Washington Trust Company in Rumford Stephen Henderson, assistant vice president/branch manager of Navigant Credit Union in Riverside; and David Kent, vice president/banking office manager of Webster Bank in Riverside. “We are so fortunate to have these professionals as members of our Rotary Club,” states Betty Galligan, immediate past president of The Rotary Club of East Providence/Seekonk. “Their collective knowledge is a great asset to any student who is graduating from high school and starting out on their journey toward financial independence. It’s so important to have this kind of advice and guidance at a young age, to help build credit, manage frivolous spending, and put extra dollars away for a rainy day. We’ve assembled an awesome panel that is giving of their time and knowledge – we’re grateful to bring this opportunity to the Class of 2022.”
To register for the East Providence/Seekonk Rotary “Financial Basics for the Class of 2022” event, please visit https://epseekonkrotary.org/ or contact Lori DiPersio at (401) 578-5317 or ldipersio24@gmail.com.
