Castleberry Hill Loft Tour is Oct. 13
The Castleberry Hill Neighborhood Association will host the 2018 Castleberry Hill Loft Tour on Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors will get a peek into 11 lofts in the eclectic neighborhood, plus the chance to explore restaurants, boutiques and galleries.
Lofts on the tour are located in the Swift & Company Lofts, Loftman Lofts, Bee Line Lofts, Centennial Station, The Stokes Lofts, Deere Lofts, Mueller Lofts, Market Lofts and Castleberry Point. Please note that this is a walking tour and some homes will include stairs.
Castleberry Hill, located just south of Mercedes Benz-Stadium, has been named one of the Top 10 Art Districts in the country thanks to the proliferation of artists and galleries that have moved into the historic community. It’s also become a hotbed for the film industry with The Walking Dead, The Fast and The Furious and Captain America all filmed in the neighborhood.
Check-in for the tour begins at 11 a.m. and will continue throughout the day at the intersection of Centennial Olympic Park Drive/Walker Street & Nelson Street. Construction is underway on Modera Reynoldstown, a mixed-use development that will feature apartments and retail, from developer Mill Creek Residential. The five-story building at 780 Memorial Drive will include 320 apartments with studio, one-, twoand three- bedrooms along with 18,400 square feet of ground floor retail. Amenities for the development include a co-working lounge, coffee bar, fitness studio with yoga room and a club lounge with a speakeasy hidden behind a secret door. Outdoor offerings will include a bar inside a former shipping container, dog run and bocce and shuffleboard courts.

The Providence Group of Georgia has announced a new townhome community coming soon to the Upper Westside. Westside Village will feature 19 luxury townhomes from the $400,000s. Columbia Residential has purchased Capitol View Apartments, located near a primary entrance to the Atlanta BeltLine’s Westside Trail in the Adair Park neighborhood. The southwest Atlanta complex will be restored and preserved, creating an affordable community directly on the BeltLine. Originally built in 1948, Capitol View currently consists of 120 units at Metropolitan Parkway and University Avenue. The one- and two-bedroom apartment homes will serve families and individuals earning 50 percent to 70 percent of area median income in a location where development pressure and revitalization are putting affordable housing out of reach for many families. Renovation planning is currently underway with construction expected to begin in mid-2019.


Kaplan Residential is developing a new apartment complex, Generation Atlanta, on Centennial Olympic Park Drive in Downtown. Located just around the corner from the Georgia Aquarium, the 17-story will feature apartments ranging from studios to two-bedrooms, averaging 864 square feet, with belowaverage rents, according to the developers.

The Midtown Development Review Commmitte has offered its support of at a townhome project proposal from Office of Design. The project would front 14th Street and consist of 18 units, 4-stories each, with a 6,000 square foot courtyard on an L-shaped lot accessible by a single perimeter driveway. The DRC generally supported the proposal with suggestions for moving the building closer to the street and redesign of the entrance and exit.

During the regular season, the Atlanta Falcons will donate $5 per rushing yard gained to Give to Grow Homes, a designated charity of the Players Philanthropy Fund.
