John Selden has been appointed General Manager of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Selden is currently the Deputy General Manager of John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. A former Navy pilot, Selden will begin work on Oct. 1.

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms signed an executive order last month to permanently stop receiving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees at the city jail and for current detainees to be transferred as soon as possible.

The public can now inspect the city’s finances thanks to a new web portal unveiled this morning by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. Open Checkbook allows the public to monitor government spending and creates more transparency for the city. Visit: checkbook.atlantaga. gov.

Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy has proposed building a park that would span the Downtown Connector at North Avenue. Specific details were not released following Cathy’s recent meeting with the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
