Cast Iron

Chef Evan Cordes is taking over the former Last Word space in the Highland Walk building, 701 Highland Ave., to serve up seasonal dishes for dinner and weekend brunch. The new eatery is expected to open this month or early November. Information: facebook.com/castironATL.

Char Korean Bar & Grill

This new Inman Park restaurant from Richard Tang, located in Inman Quarter at 280 Elizabeth Street, is serving up traditional Korean barbecue, kimchi fried rice, japchae, Korean fried chicken and more. Information: charatlanta.com.

Double Zero

After closing its Sandy Springs location this summer, Castellucci Hospitality Group has reopened Double Zero in its new Emory Village location at 1577 North Decatur Road. With a new space comes a new menu from Executive Chef Edwin Molina featuring oxtail, pork belly corndogs and braised beef ribs as well as pastas and pizzas. Information: doublezeroatl.com.

Filo’s Greek Grill

Now open in Chastain Square, 4279 Roswell Road, Filo’s is a neighborhood diner offering spitfire rotisserie lamb, pork and chicken served in pita breads or on top of a Greek salad, potatoes or spinach rice. For the omnivores, Filo’s also offers roasted vegetable pitas, salads and traditional Greek foods such as spanakopita and tiropita served Greek mezze style. Information: filosgreekgrill.com.

Georgia Beer Garden

The team that brought you Joystick Gamebar are expected to open their latest project any day now at 420 Edgewood Ave. with a Southern take on the classic German biergarten. Information: facebook.com/georgiabeergarden.

Highland Bakery

The favorite breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch spot was expected to have two new locations open at press time – in Decatur at 319 West Ponce de Leon Ave. and near the Georgia State University campus at 25 Park Place.

Larkin on Memorial

Paces Properties has announced that Taqueria del Sol and Ramen Station will be part of its Larkin on Memorial project across from Oakland Cemetery in Grant Park slated to open next summer. Taqueria del Sol’s new outpost will be its fourth in the city offering up its straightforward menu of Mexican cuisine, while Ramen Station is coming from restaurateur partners Michael Lo and George Yu, the team behind Makan in Decatur and the forthcoming Suzy Siu’s Baos in Krog Street Market. The 1,700-square-foot space will offer ramen bowls with artisan noodles, steamed buns, seasonal appetizers and a craft bar beverage program.

Nexto

Chef Mihoko Obunai was expected to open this new ramen restaurant over the summer, but now October is on the menu. Information: nextoatl.com.

Rize Artisan Pizza

The new pizzeria plans to open on the ground floor of the 675 North Highland apartment building later this month. The 3,500-square-foot restaurant with outdoor patio will serve up pizza and salad.

Scofflaw Brewing Co.

The brewery’s tasting room is now open on the Westside, 1738 MacArthur Blvd., in a converted warehouse space featuring vintage Belgian beer hall tables and Indonesian wedding chairs. The tasting room gives guests a peek into the brewing room filled with stainless steel vats and a soon-tooperate canning line. Information: scofflawbrewing.com.

Restaurateurs Chris Martha and Chef Michael Semancik were expected to open their new eatery in Decatur’s Oakhurst neighborhood, 321 West Hill Street, in September. Suzy Siu’s Baos

The creators of Makan in Decatur will open this stall in Krog Street Market, 99 Krog Street, in November offering up steamed buns with pork belly, duck, seafood and vegetarian options.

Yumbii Taco Shop

Atlanta’s first food truck will open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Buckhead at 1927 Peachtree Road this month. The 1440-square-foot restaurant will have counter service for easy takeout and seating for dine-in guests. The menu will fuse Asian and Mexican flavors for panko-crusted fish tacos, Asian rib-eye Philly’s, spicy-pulled pork sliders, and sides like sesame fries with sriracha cheese dip. The restaurant will also have breakfast tacos, salads, street corn and rice bowls. Information: yumbii.com.
