Greece will come to Reno during the annual Reno Greek Festival this weekend. The celebration features authentic cuisine made by the members of the St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Church, traditional dance and music and a marketplace offering clothes, jewelry, books and other merchandise from the Greek islands. The festival kicks off on Friday, Aug. 21, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 23, at Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Church, 4795 Lakeside Drive. Hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Limited advance tickets are $12, which include $10 of food. THRU HIKE: Tahoe Rim Trail offers its 14th annual Thru Hike. Two Thru Hike groups will circle the 165-mile rim of the Tahoe Basin during two expeditions this summer. The first expedition will run from July 25 to Aug. 8 with a second trip from Aug. 22 to Sept. 5. Participants will be led around the Tahoe Rim Trail by three to four experienced volunteer guides while being met with resupply from volunteer Trail Angels.
