The Reno Bike Project hosts its eighth annual pancake feed. The store will open its doors early Friday morning to celebrate Bike To Work, School & Fun Week. The Work of ArT: ArToWn

This KNPB documentary film is a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to create one of America’s largest arts and culture events. The 90-minute film details how Reno’s arts festival Artown comes together each July and explores the history and impact it has had on the community since its founding in 1996. Representatives from Reno Art Works, The Potentialist Workshop, Sierra Arts, the MidTown Art Walk and Artown will share their stories and contributions to the arts festival and the Reno art community during the broadcast. There will be a free TV viewing party at the Oxbow Café & Bistro, 2365 Dickerson Road, on Thursday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. The film’s producer Jeremy Dunn, will be in attendance, as well as several local artists, Artown representatives and local art administrators. A WAlk Through lucidiTy

Nine artists will take visitors on a journey through their creativity. The event will explore the creative process of each artist by turning the participants into the art. Everyone will become a piece of the paintings. Doors open at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 16, with an explanation of exactly what will happen during the show. The show starts at 8 p.m. at The Generator, 1240 Icehouse Ave., Sparks. The works that each artist creates that night will be auctioned off as they are created. All proceeds will go directly to funding Embrace, a large-scale art installation to be built at this year’s Burning Man festival. The 10th annual music festival and benefit show celebrates its 10th year with two days of live music and entertainment this weekend. The event, which has expanded to a spring show and winter show, was organized by local musician Nick Ramirez as a way to honor his late partner, Mariane Psota, who died in 2004. Psota was a big supporter of local music and had booked many shows at local venues, including the Zephyr Bar and the former Blue Lamp. The show’s lineup features 32 acts, including Postwar, The Vague Choir, Candyshoppe and Nick Ramirez on Friday, May 16, and The Liver Scars, Betty Rocker, Reno, We Have A Problem, Slut Fungus and Shatterbox on Saturday, May 17. This year’s event will benefit Keeley Davis and Emily Fay Reese. The music gets started at 3 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday in both rooms at Jub Jub’s Thirst Parlor, 71 S. The program features the sportscaster version of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Smetana’s “Dance of the Comedians” and Garrison Keillor and Randall Davidson’s “Young Lutheran’s Guide to the Orchestra,” as well as other music depicting clowns, comedy and fun. Reno Pops 2013 Concerto Festival winner, violinist Paran Amirinazari, will perform Vieuxtemps’ Concerto No. 5 in A Minor. The short film showcase features entries in various categories, including narrative, documentary, music video, experimental shorts, horror and suspense and animation, that have been shot either on professional equipment or with something as common as an iPhone.
