What I love about the Club is that we do lots of fun stuff like art, games and computers and we get to play games, watch movies and have fun. My favorite program is that we go to computers and it’s my favorite because we learn how to make music on the computer.

ETHAN BRYANT, AGE 13 FERNLEY TEEN I love being able to hang out with my friends while playing a video game, or outside. What I like about the site is the many games that we are able to use. My favorite program is the gym, because I get to go around the gym with basketballs. It helped me learn how to play a sport that I could do later on with my friends.

ABBY GALAHAN, AGE 12, FERNLEY TEEN My name is Gia Gauthier and I am 11 years and I go to the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows at Sun Valley Elementary. What I love about the Boys & Girls Club is that they are nice and helpful to me and others. The staff at Sun Valley Elementary also has fun filled activities every day. Sun Valley Elementary is the Pride of Washoe County School District and we all treat one another with respect and everyone at Sun Valley teaches one another different things every day. My favorite program at the club is Girly Girl. Girly Girl is where we paint girl’s nails and talk to them about different subjects. One thing that I have learned from this program is that we need to be creative and use our BE GREAT Values every day.

What I love about the Club is we can play dodge ball. I love we can check out games. I like the staff. They are nice. It is fun and we can do art projects. We have Powerhour which is so fun because we can do our homework without getting stress. Plus, you do really fun games and we have the best staff and we don’t have to buy markers and we can color. I love having Snack Shack because I get to work it sometimes. It’s fun and we get to put the money in the money box and sometimes I get to count it. And Two Square is so fun.

KIMMY HUMES, AGE 12 The Boys & Girls Club is a place where I can come after school and do my homework. I enjoy being with the staff and talking with my friends. The special events provide some entertainment to my otherwise boring afternoons. The staff try to make this place as fun as they can. I enjoy sitting and reading my book. The Club is where I come to after school.

Emily Brown, Age 17, DWR Teen

What I love about the Club is that I am able to hang out with all of my best friends after school instead of going home and being bored out of my mind. I love all of the games they provide and all of the video games they let us ply. It also works up to where we are able to go to the gym and go outside. We also go to the computer lab. I like Smart Moves because it shows us girls what to do when we are having a normal midlight crisis.

KAITLYNN SPRAGUE, AGE 12, FERNLEY TEEN What I love about the Club is that I get to hang out and joke around with my friends. Also, the staff that helped me with my problem and bullies.

The Lemmon Valley site is the best out of all. Even though we may be a small Club, we are strong and powerful. Here, we all like to go on field trips. I like the staff here and without them, this place would be a mess.

My favorite program is dodge ball because I get to throw a ball and get people out. What I have learned from playing dodge ball is that it’s okay to lose.

In closing, Lemmon Valley Boys & Girls Club has changed my life in more than one way and for that I am thankful.

Iabsolutely love the Boys & Girls Club. I have been going to the Club for about 5 years now, and thanks to the Club, I have had an amazing time in those 5 years. Through the Club I have gotten scholarships, met great friends, and become a better person and leader. In fact, just this summer I received a scholarship to Mountains Meadows Ranch Camp through the Club and that was a life changing experience.

The staff have had great impact in my life. All of the staff are great influences and have taught me to be a great leader. Some of my favorite staff are Oscar, Ivana, Jose, Jordan, Corine and Dan. The staff that has impacted my life the most is Amanda. She is a mentor to me and has been a very good influence towards me. She is almost like a big sister to me. I have also attended many programs at the Club such as SMART Moves, Get Fit for Life, Dance Club, SMART Girls, Drama Matters and Give Back Like Jack. My overall favorite Club though, is definitely Torch Club. In Torch Club I learned the Boys & Girls Club GREAT Values and how to be a better leader. The Boys & Girls Club has helped me be a better person in all areas of my life and without the Club, I don’t know what type of person I would be today.

Shealyn Kelley, Age 11, My Club What I love most about the Club is that it’s like my second family. They always let me come with and without my card. The thing I love most about my site is that all my friends are here so I get to have fun. The coordinators here are fantastic with good attitudes most of the time. My favorite program is the Keystone Club because the last project we did was to help people get food for Thanksgiving and I love to help people. I also love Powerhour because it gives you a chance to do your homework if you don’t have a chance to at home or something.

CALISTA CRUZ, AGE 12, FERNLEY TEEN I love the Boys and Girls Club because all of the staff are very nice and we play very fun games. I love the site because we play dodgeball. We have fun board games. I love doing all of the fun activities. This is my favorite site because we have so many activities that you never get bored. It is the best site that I have ever gone to and it will be the only one. I also like that we have clubs and that we have drives, like a board game drive, toy drive and canned food drive to help people for Thanksgiving. I have learned and loved the BE G.R.E.A.T. values.

We are excited for the big Boys & Girls Club building to open up because we will get to play basketball. We really hope there is a pool in the building so we can go swimming and that there were little slides in it. When the new club opens our moms won’t have to drive in the snow to the Club that is too far away. We can’t wait to see the art room and make pictures with our friends, our favorite thing to do is paint. We think the new Club should be painted Christmas colors. Our friends say they are excited for computers and homework help.

What I love about the Boys & Girls Club is how you can make friends easily. I love the fact that the Nancy Gomes Club is close to my house. I also love that this is my old school so I can visit all my old teachers that put a smile on my face! All the staff and kids here are easy to get along with even if they are younger than me. As an older kid I feel like some of the younger members look up to me in a way. I have learned how to feel comfortable with the children that are younger than me.

My favorite program at Nancy Gomes is Sport SMART. I am a very athletic person and I love to play sports. I know coming into the Club on Thursdays, it’s always Sport SMART day and it makes me happy. Sometimes Kelcie, the staff, lets me run Sport SMART because of how much I love it.

These are only some of the reasons that I LOVE Nancy Gomes Boys & Girls Club. I never want to leave the Boys & Girls Club because this is where I am always happy no matter how my day goes.

What I love about the Fernley Teen Club is how I can meet new people, play games, experience the gym-computers-outside and learn about art. I also really love how awesome Ms. Kathy is!

There are a lot of programs that are ran at the Club but my favorite program is Keystone Club because we get to help people, work hard and find ways to save lives and all of these activities have made me a better person. Thank goodness for the Boys & Girls Club!

Shara Crowley, Age 13 Hi, my name is Eysia Lee Maloney and I am eight years old. I love the club because they have done a lot for me, like made me member of the year and improved my grades. I love Libby Booth Club because it is lots of fun and I get to learn and do different activities everyday. I love that my Boys & Girls Club is in my school Libby Booth, because I love both places. My favorite activity is computer tech, because of the games and the learning. It has made me a smart girl, this club rocks a lot.

Eysia Lee Maloney Ilike the Boys & Gils Club because we are always active and all the staff are super nice to us .I like Neil Road because it is very friendly and happy every day .There is also a nice and big park that we can play on and it is beautiful .My favorite activity in the club is the Homework room and the Art room .I like the Homework room because I get to do my homework and get 5 points for each page that I do . Then I could trade them for cool prizes like school supplies and more . I like the art room because I love to draw and color my drawings . I also got better at drawing and coloring. At the Club I learned how to draw better and to do my homework .Then I can get rewarded.

That is why I like the Boys & Girls Club.
