9/14:National Championship Air Races The roar of race planes will echo across the North during the 54th annual event, which showcases six Valleys different classes of race planes, some of which can reach speeds over 500 mph. The air races and air show, which kicked off on Sept. 13, includes up-close access to racing aircraft, pilots and crews in the “pits,” military aircraft displays, air performers and other attractions, such as Brad Wursten Airshows, the National Drone Racing Championship, Texas Flying Legends Museum (featuring the B-25J “Betty’s Dream,” pictured above) and LivFast FMX.
