#TheLatinParty & Hispanic Heritage Month Awards September 15-October 15, 2021 Celebrated nationally from September 15th to October 15th, Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes the growing significance and contributions of Latinos in our community. Conexión Américas celebrates with two events, the Hispanic Heritage Awards and The Latin Party. This year, these events will be held jointly and online, with expected attendance over 500 and additional engagement through social media channels.

Invest in the rising generation of Latino students and their families Conexión Américas serves pre-K to college students and their families through our award-winning Parents as Partners/Family Engagement, Youth Development, and Escalera College Access and Postsecondary Success programming. Our corporate partners provide unrestricted funds to bolster our education footprint and build upon the progress we have made in the past 18 years working directly with and advocating for Latino, migrant, and immigrant-origin families in Tennessee.

Partner with us to create opportunities for Latino entrepreneurship, adult education, and workforce development Conexión Américas supports Latino individuals and their families to achieve their dreams as homeowners, taxpayers, and entrepreneurs, and to build a diverse, skilled workforce in Middle Tennessee. Offered at 6 different levels, our English classes annually serve 186 adult students from more than 13 countries of origin. Our corporate partners provide unrestricted funding to support the essential operations of Casa Azafrán as a community center for families to receive critical services and meet basic needs during the pandemic. Our current operations costs total $300,000 per year, including building maintenance, event coordination, front desk reception and referrals, and operations support.

Conexión Américas is building a welcoming community, with the support of our corporate partners. We believe that Nashville’s diversity makes us stronger. We support equitable community development initiatives through access to public transit, placemaking on Nolensville Pike, and early voting at Casa Azafrán.

In 2020, we broke our own early voting record by welcoming 11,465 voters at Casa Azafrán during the Early Voting period in Davidson County. Our civic engagement initiatives include annual Passport Days, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) referrals, and leadership development workshops.

Empower our team to provide support where it is needed most During the COVID-19 pandemic, Conexión Américas has worked swiftly to address the most pressing needs of the Latino community and provide critically needed support.

Food Security + Resource Distribution
Economic Recovery + Small Business Support
Between March and December 2020, we provided more than $1 million in direct financial, mortgage and rent assistance to Tennessee families and small business owners. We also partnered with the Metro Nashville Health Department, World Central Kitchen, and Second Harvest Food Bank to provide access to culturallyrelevant healthcare information and address the overwhelming food and economic insecurity in the community. During the challenges of virtual learning, our team continues to provide access to digital resources, devices, and virtual platform support for immigrant students and their families.
