2020
A Message from Steve Walters, Managing Partner 2020 was a year like no other. It tested individuals and businesses alike; forcing us all to face adversity and adapt to uncertainty. Reminger attorneys have worked diligently to support our clients during these challenging times. We are proud to continue to provide the effective and efficient results you expect from Reminger. I’m pleased to share that thanks to the generosity of our attorneys, staff, and friends of the firm, The Reminger Foundation awarded more than 60 charitable grants in 2020, including our largest gift to date. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Reminger Foundation awarded a total of $275,000 in charitable grants to various hospitals that have established recovery funds to support their frontline caregivers. We were once again honored this year as a “Best Law Firm” by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers, earning national rankings for Transportation Law and Insurance Law, along with multiple metropolitan Tier 1 rankings for various practice areas. Best Lawyers in America® recognized 69 Reminger attorneys this year either as Best Lawyers or Ones to Watch, and also named three of our of Cleveland attorneys “Lawyer of the Year” in their primary practice group within their designated metropolitan area, including Elder Law, Litigation- Trusts and Estates, and Medical Malpractice Defense. More than 50 of our attorneys were honored by Super Lawyers Magazine throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana as either Rising Stars or Super Lawyers. Three attorneys were also named by Super Lawyers to special distinction lists for excellent work in their field. Martindale rated a number of our attorneys AV® Preeminent™ for both legal ability and ethical standards. Reminger was honored as one of The Plain Dealer’s “Top Workplaces in Northeast Ohio” among Midsized Companies for the tenth year in a row, an accomplishment to which we credit our talented and dedicated team of attorneys and staff. Zach was appointed as Vice Chair of the OACTA Business and Commercial Litigation Committee. Thomas was appointed as Vice Chair of the OACTA Young Lawyers Committee. The Reminger Foundation Commits $275,000 to COVID-19 Response Funds in Supporting Frontline Caregivers In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Reminger Foundation awarded a total of $275,000 in charitable grants to various hospitals that have established recovery funds to support their frontline caregivers. The Reminger Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization funded by the attorneys and staff of Reminger Co., LPA, and friends of the law firm. The Reminger Foundation contributed these funds in order to support the health, well-being and safety of those treating the surge of patients during this critical time.

In Memoriam: Donald Moracz With deep and profound sadness, Reminger mourned the passing of our dear friend and partner, Donald J. Moracz. Don unfortunately passed away on September 25, 2020 at the age of 54 due to complications from COVID-19. Don graduated from Chanel High School and continued his studies at John Carroll University. He graduated from John Carroll with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Don went on to study law at the Case Western Reserve University Law School. Don joined the firm as a law student and officially became an attorney with Reminger in 1991. Don was a natural in the practice of law and was elevated to shareholder status within five years of joining the firm. Don focused his practice on medical malpractice defense and served as the partner in charge of our Sandusky office, as well as a member of the Management Group for the Reminger law firm. In 2005, along with those duties, he became a member of the Executive Group, serving in that capacity until his death and helped guide Reminger to enormous growth over the tenure he had at the law firm. Don built a wonderful reputation as an advocate for his health care clients, but also as a professional who was loved by judges, opposing lawyers and all of his colleagues and peers. Everyone at Reminger feels fortunate and privileged to have known and worked with Don. His passing is a huge loss to our Reminger family, the law profession and our community.
