My Behavior Is Unacceptable!

If you live around other people, you live in a world that is full of judgement and ridicule. It can't be stopped, unless you stay in the house/ off the internet & phone. So, how do you survive, navigate and overcome so much discourse? How do we progress when so many are sucking at our energy? How can you keep what you have and built; the consistence that you've built up if people keep tryna take it?

Envy. Jealousy. Lack of Self Esteem. Poor resources.

Well, I'm no different. I too find too much misery coming at me all at once. And it comes in many forms and variations. It can be the unfriendly stare, or it can be someone fueling a hurdle. Even as I attract the positive juice of the world, even was I'm focused on that empowering life source we know as God, I still recognize misery lurking. #thedevil You'd think the only way out of this attack is suicide. But, day in and day out, for so many years now, I indeed overcome. But how?

How can one overcome and prosper when in that "belly" of that "beast?"

But when I visit the past I can recall how most every activity I've engaged in has evoked my own obsessive action.

I absolutely give it up in all that I do; writing, producing, or relationships. When I do this, I get accomplishment, praise, envy and copycats. I get the hate as well. When I promoted concerts in the 80's I had local would-be competition in disbelief, wondering where I came from/where I got such audacity. I got the same apprehension to my visions when I published the magazine & produced the TV show in the 90's. Some people didn't like my Black show, with my Black performers. And I didn't merely throw folks up on the TV (not once I got better at TV production, anyway/heh heh).

But indeed, I had the haters from that arena. Now that I've written and made successful my

position in the book industry, I got fellow authors & publishers harboring their own hate, jealousy & envy.

So, more often than not, I've come to realize most of the things I do create energy. By most accounts, its positive energy, and most get it. But I'm also clear that others just don't understand. All the time I hear, "how did you do it?" "What was the turning point for you?" And the raw truth is that I cannot do less. I cannot restrain myself. And if I break a barrier where I'm the least bit threatening to the competitor, they will take offense or attack me. Once upon a time they attacked like cowards/maybe in a group. Today, the enemy is more like a punk, hiding behind a veil.

Years ago I was a young concert promoter-turned TV producer, and I called up a lot of jealousy & envy. Man, I can tell stories! Fact is, I come from the juice of life; where entrepreneurs were cultivated, cut and sharpened. There were few like me, whether it was in my town, or neighboring towns.

The fact is I came with my own set of resources; my own deck of cards. But the reality is, with our barreledc r a b

mentalities, anyone who was c o n s i d e re d c o m p e t i t i o n didn't get along, didn't cross promote, nor did we embrace one another. We did not know unity and strategic alliance. We merely didn't get along or stayed to ourselves.

And I especially got the hate since I was something of a lucky kid. My pops got the entrepreneurial gene from his parents, and I caught it from him. I had no choice but to accept the experience that came with operating a cash register in a local deli as a 10 year old.

That experience is priceless as you get older. And it comes with its share of risks and rewards.

So to say the least, I've grown to accept what comes with my aggressive drive towards success in any field. I will not let go of the championship belt, so long as I continue to improve and sharpen my tools. I will also not let my foot up off your neck if you are the competition, or that it feels as if you threaten my livelihood. Sure, my brand of content (who I am) and my energy (how I deliver the same) might be eating some folks hearts out, but thats their problem, isn't it?

My answer is to go for

what you know in anything you do, just be smart about it, and expect the good and bad to come as a result. And remember, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

How important or valuable is your profession, your personality, your work ethic, if what you deliver can be obtained from someone else, or in some other way? And if everyone is doing it, what value does that hold?

I e n c o u r a g e yo u t o somehow keep your sense of awareness at all times, especially if you hafta come out of the house! Expect & anticipate the negative energy.

Don't merely keep a blind eye to it all, allowing your circumstances to get out of hand, because when the shit hits the fan, it will be too late for recovery. Down for the count. How many movies like Super man, Batman or Spiderman have we seen where the parents or loved ones succumbed to evil, but for their walk in an ally or down a dark street. And the result was usually death. I guess thats the #StanLee magic that brings in all that money.

But perhaps we should learn

from this, as well as buy into the thrill we're being sold.
