Sonderborg–Flensburg Airport is located only four km from the newly opened highway M51, which leads directly to the E45 highway. It is also linked to the surrounding towns and cities by a smoothly functioning and flexible public transportation system.

For example, teletaxis can be booked immediately prior to arrival/departure and take passengers straight from their homes to the airport at low bus fare rates.

Of course, passengers can also reserve limo and livery car services. The designated limo parking area is conveniently located just a few metres from the terminal.

Denmark’s Most Efficient Airport We refuse to complicate what really should be uncomplicated. Our greatest source of inspiration for ease of use and operational reliability is the Copenhagen Metro, recently named the world’s best metro. We are 100% focused on maintaining the highest levels of passenger satisfaction, operational stability and innovative technology. We take great pride in our ability to minimise and streamline queuing at check-in counters and security checkpoints.

Our average wait-time is less than 80 seconds for 80% of our passengers.

Passengers can check in (with luggage) up until 10 minutes prior to departure and on average go through security and board 16 minutes before the aircraft is off block. For regional jets, our contractual turnaround time is 20 minutes and we maintain a 98% compliance rate with that time. Moreover, the number of planes taking off on time from the airport greatly exceed the number of those that land on time.

Sonderborg–Flensburg Airport’s strategy is to place special focus on the passenger and make the flight experience as pleasant and uncomplicated as possible for everyone. The airport, therefore provides free parking very close to the terminal (neighbouring airports charge up to EUR 20.00 per day).

There is complimentary wireless Internet access everywhere in the terminal and a free net-café, where passengers e.g. can print boarding cards.

We also offer a free selection of six Danish and German major newspapers, as well as coffee for all morning departure passengers.
