Goed die josie in (meer oor my mooi afrikaans en die tannies van die ouetehuis volgende week) ry ek terug winkel toe om my geld terug te kry. En wil jy nou meer die eienaar het die pan een kyk gegee en gesê ek het die

'The one who was dead is now alive'
Going through the barrier with a colleague to board my train in a busy station in London, suddenly a loud alarm sounded. A voice came over the public address system advising, no instructing, every person in the station to leave the building immediately. The majority of passersby stopped, stood still and looked at each other. Visitors to London were already making their way to the exits, Londoners were hurrying their way to their destinations. The message only came once. I looked at the person I was with, we shrugged our shoulders, and went through the barrier to catch our train. We have, collectively, quite a bit of disbelief and fatigue when we are told that we really must respond, or do something, or change our behaviour or direction. Mary Magdalene was exhausted by grief. With Jesus everything had died. Who knows why she thought she was going to the garden in which the tomb they had borrowed for him was situated, but who knows why we do lots of things when we are worn out by life? Mary’s emotion represents the emotion of the whole world in the presence of the overwhelming cruelty and irreparable nature of death. With Mary there are so many that weep. In Syria mothers cry for their children and husbands. In the Ukraine neighbours cry because the future is precarious and dangerous. In Rwanda tears are still shed each day as the horror of genocide is remembered. In this country, even as the economy improves there is weeping in broken families, in people ashamed to seek help from food banks, or frightened by debt. Asylum seekers weep with loneliness and
missing far away families. Mary continues to weep across the world. This is the world we live in, a world which each of us has had a hand in creating. A world of crosses. We can comfort one another and treat the dying with dignity. We can make gardens and graves, we can move stones and wipe away tears. But we can do nothing to defeat death. But listen, hear the announcement. . . The one who was dead, is now alive! The one whose body had been a corpse, lying motionless in the grave, inert, lifeless, lying flat on the stone ledge of the borrowed tomb – he now stands before Mary, speaking her name. This day he speaks everybody’s name to engage them with the news that he is alive. When Mary hears her name spoken, we are told, she turns towards him. A moment before and she is in the deepest despair, a second after, her life has changed. For death has more than met its match. It has been defeated. Everything changes. We cannot expel God, nor the life of God, from his world. In fact this new life insists that there is nowhere God is absent, powerless or irrelevant. There is no situation in the universe in the face of which God is at a loss. The one that was dead is now alive. Where there was weeping there is now joy. Someone wrote recently ‘Joy might be a greater scandal than evil, suffering or death’. [David Ford]. This is what I have been moved by in Christian communities around the world who face the most devastating of conditions. Their certainty that Jesus is alive enables them to face all horrors with joy. Not happiness, but joy. Joy can exist alongside
mental illness, depression, bereavement, fear, because the joy of Christ comes from knowing that nothing and no one less than God has the last word. I remember sitting in a room with the Bishop who had come over from Pakistan soon after the attack in September on a church in Peshawar. I asked how Christians were coping with the fear that such attacks brought, and wondered if there had been anyone in church the week following the attack. ‘Oh yes’ the bishop replied, ‘ there were three times as many people the next week’. Such action is made possible only by the resurrection. The persecuted church flourishes because of the resurrection. I think of women who I met earlier this year who have survived unspeakable sexual violence, yet who lift their arms in prayer and praise to God. I think of teenagers I met in Luton who have hope and joy, in lives that were dominated by self hatred and harm. This has only been made possible because Jesus is alive. The announcement that Jesus is alive changes everything; not simplistically or even instantly do circumstances and situations change. But it changes us. It gives us hope where we were in despair, faith where we were lost, light where we were in darkness, joy where we were entirely in sorrow. That joy in the huge life of Jesus is present in the food banks, the credit unions, the practical down to earth living that the churches are demonstrating across this country. But Jesus hasn’t finished with Mary yet. It isn’t simply a personal thing for her. She must now become a witness. So Jesus sends her to the ‘brothers’ to tell them. Please notice,
in all four gospels the first witness of the resurrection is a woman. So Mary becomes the apostle to the apostles. Jesus comes to find us all. In all the gospels when anyone meets Jesus they are given a task. The task is to join the announcement. The meaning of our whole existence is to be witnesses to the new life that is offered by Jesus Christ. The persecuted church bears witness in its joy overcoming fear, in worship in the midst of war, of refugee camps. In an IDP camp in Goma in January, the reminder that Jesus is alive was worth more than many sentences of comfort, for he brings joy. The new life of Jesus is given to us. We witness to it as we insist that money isn’t our ruler, that self- promotion isn’t King, that pleasure isn’t a fulfilling aim, and that the survival of the fittest simply means some die later than others. The new life of Christ has broken into our world, it cannot be contained, nor restricted, nor managed. The church exists to show by its life and work the transforming power that has been set free in the world. All that we need to do is respond in faith and receive the gift of that life. To fail to respond is like hearing someone crying ‘fire’ and continuing to walk into the building. Or have someone whisper ‘will you marry me?’ and turn the channel to find something interesting to watch. This is an announcement that calls our attention, catches our lives, heals our brokenness, and send us out with a purpose,a hope and a joy. It is news that the world cannot ignore, that we cannot neglect, it is the news of joy immeasurable.- Easter sermon as delivered by Archbishop Justin Welby at the Canterbury Chatedral.

Die neem van ‘n verteenwoordigende graanmonster by lewering of versending van graan by ‘n leweringspunt is waarskynlik die belangrikste proses ten opsigte van graanbestuur. Dit is onmoontlik om ‘n vrag akkuraat te gradeer as dit nie effektief gemonster is om seker te maak dit verteenwoordig die graan wat op die vrag voorkom nie. Graanhanteerders in SuidAfrika maak tans van hoofsaaklik twee monsternemingstelsels gebruik, naamlik die dubbelbuisstekers en semioutomatiese stelsels. Hierdie stelsels vereis dat 'n operateur met ‘n handaksie ‘n graanmonster van die vrag moet neem. Daar is gevind dat die operateurs wat die toerusting hanteer, veral tydens piek-leweringsperiodes, moeg word en gevolglik nie die monsternemingsproses korrek voltooi nie en ook nie die vrag regdeur monster nie. VKB, saam met Agri Enviro Solutions (Edms.) Bpk. (AES), het as eerste fase begin om outomatiese monsternemingstelsels by Villiers, Frankfort, Warden en Daniëlsrus te installeer. AES is die alleenverspreider en diensverskaffer van die Franse TPLG-monsternemingstelsels in Suider-, Sentraal en Oos-Afrika. TPLG is die leier in outomatiese graanmonsterneming in Europa sedert 1977. Vandag, met meer as 3 500 verwysings in 21 lande en agente in altesaam 40 verskillende lande, is TPLG vasbeslote om hul leiersposisie te konsolideer en om hul teenwoordigheid in die internasionale mark uit te brei. Hierdie suksesvolle projek by VKB plaas 'n goeie TPLG-verwysing in Suid-Afrika. In 'n poging om meer vaartbelyn te wees en waarde toe te voeg om hul akkurate graderingsprosesse te bekom, het VKB vasgestel dat die outomatisering van die monsternemingproses grootliks geskille sal verminder, akkuraatheid van gradering sal verbeter, bedrog sal voorkom en versekering van die graan se graadsekuriteit op lewering en uitlaai by hul silo's sal verbeter. Dit is tot voordeel van die produsent, die afnemer van die graan én VKB. Die nuwe installasies beteken dat monsters verkry kan word deur die hele vrag wat gelewer of versend word outomaties te monster sonder betrokkenheid van die menslike faktor. Die monster wat geneem is, word outomaties geplaas in 'n monsterhouer óf in die graderingskamer of by die monsterverdeler sonder dat dit eens deur operateurs aangeraak word. Hierdie monster, wat nou hoogs verteenwoordigend van die vrag is, word dan gebruik vir gradering. Die VKB/AES-alliansie strek so ver terug as die 1980's en die projek dui op die vertroue wat in beide partye geplaas word.
VKB installeer stelsels vir outomatiese grootmaatmonsterneming
24 March is World TB Day. It’s a day that provides the opportunity for affected persons and the communities in which they live, governments, civil society organisations, healthcare providers, and international partners to call for further action to reach people who have been infected with TB. All partners can help take forward innovative approaches to ensure that everyone suffering from TB has access to diagnosis, treatment and cure. TB Day on 24 March commemorates the day in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch astounded the scientific community by announcing that he had discovered the cause of tuberculosis, the TB bacillus. At the time of Koch's announcement in Berlin, TB was raging through Europe and the Americas, causing the death of one out of every seven people. Koch's discovery opened the way toward diagnosing and curing tuberculosis. South Africa is one of the countries with the highest burden of TB, with the World Health Organisation (WHO) statistics giving an estimated incidence of 500 000 cases of active TB in 2011. So about 1% of the population of about 50 million develop active TB disease each year. This is worldwide the third highest incidence of any country after India and China, and the incidence has increased by 400% over the past 15 years. Out of the 500 000 incident cases in South Africa it is estimated by WHO that about 330 000 (66%) people have both HIV and TB infection. A curable and preventable disease is one of the leading causes of death in the country. One of the main reasons people die from tuberculosis (TB) is them living with the disease, undiagnosed or being diagnosed too late. Once people are more informed about TB, a lot of lives can be saved. Understanding and identifying the symptoms of the disease is also key to early diagnosis. About 30% of people do not know they have TB, which results in their death. About 70 organisations have signed the Stop TB pledge launched via the Community Chest that supports about 140 000 people. South Africa is said to be one of the countries with the highest burden of TB in the world, and during March, the public is asked to seek medical attention and urge those diagnosed with the illness to take their medication. TB facts from ER24: • TB, an infectious disease that is spread through the air, is caused by a bacterium called mycobacterium tuberculosis. Respiratory spread occurs when a person who has active tuberculosis coughs, sneezes or spits. • TB usually affects the lungs, however, it can also affect other parts of the body, including the brain and kidneys. • Symptoms include prolonged cough, fever, night sweats, weight and appetite loss, tiredness, weakness, chest pain and coughing up blood.

KITCHEN DELIGHT
Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 1.5 hours Ingredients(6-8) 2 – 3kg SPAR leg of lamb, deboned 3 - 6 SPAR Freshline garlic cloves ½ SPAR Freshline parsley bunch ½ SPAR Freshline bunch fresh rosemary leaves with a few sprigs left whole 30ml capers 100g SPAR Freshline ciabatta, torn into chunks 125ml SPAR flaked almonds 200g SPAR manzanilla sliced olives, drained 1 SPAR Freshline lemon (zest and juice) SPAR sea salt and SPAR freshly ground black pepper SPAR olive oil 2 SPAR Freshline onions, peeled and roughly chopped 2 SPAR Freshline carrots, roughly chopped 2 sticks SPAR Freshline celery, roughly chopped 1 bottle Olive Brook Classic Red Wine 30ml SPAR cake wheat flour 1 litre stock Method Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Combine peeled garlic cloves, parsley, rosemary and capers in a food processor and chop finely. Then add the ciabatta and almonds to the processor. Pulse a few times only, keeping it coarse. Mix the breadcrumbs, chopped olives, lemon juice and season. Pack this stuffing into the unrolled lamb, then wrap the meat back over and tie tightly with string, pushing the remaining rosemary sprigs underneath the string. Drizzle over with a little olive oil, pat into the lamb and season with salt and pepper. Place your roughly chopped onion, carrot and celery in a roasting tray with any remaining unpeeled garlic cloves and lay your lamb on top. Roast for about an hour and a half. Baste after 30 minutes by pouring a swig of wine over the meat and do so approximately every 15 minutes until the meat is cooked. When cooked, transfer the lamb to a board or platter to rest while you make your gravy. Spoon off most of the fat from your tray, then put it on the stove top over a low heat. Add the flour and mash everything together with a potato masher. Add a glass of red wine and bring to the boil to cook off the alcohol. Pour in the stock and bring back to the boil, scraping all the goodness from the bottom of the pan as you go. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Sieve the gravy into a jug or pan, using a ladle to really push all the goodness through. Throw away any veg or meat left behind. Your lamb will have been resting for around 15 minutes and will be perfect for serving.

"Op ons dorpie was daar 'n seuntjie wat, soos ons destyds gepraat het "gebreklik" gebore is. Hannes was ook verstandelik erg uitgedaag. Op skool kon hy nie eintlik vorder nie en het maar jaar na jaar in dieselfde klas gesit. Hy was egter ook vir elke onderwyser 'n geweldige uitdaging, want hy kon nie stilsit nie en het die hele dag lank gromgeluidjies gemaak wat baie steurend was. Om in sy teenwoordigheid te konsentreer, was baie moeilik. Net soms was dit egter asof hy 'n helder oomblik gekry het en dan kon hy pront se wat hy wou. In sy derde jaar in graad 2 het die skool 'n nuwer juffrou gekry wat van die begin af gedink het dit is nie 'n goeie ding dat hy in die gewone skool is nie. Nie vir hom nie en ook nie vir die ander 18 kinders in die klas nie... en allermins vir haar senuwees. Sy het die ouers die volgende middag na skool laat kom en het vir hulle probeer verduidelik dat Hannes nie eintlik in die skool hoort nie. Die ma het net saggies in haar sakdoek gehuil terwyl die pa probeer verduidelik het dat die naaste skool vir gestremdes 1000km ver is, dat Hannes
gevoelig is vir sy omgewing, moeilike aanpas en dat hy dolgelukkig in die skool is. "Buitendien dink ons nie ons sal hom vir lank by ons he nie" het die pa gese. Daardie aand kon die juffrou nie slaap nie. Wat as dit haar kind was? Sy het die ouers vir hulle liefde en toewyding bewonder. En die gedeelte in die bybel waar Jesus se "Wat julle aan een van die geringstes gedoen het, het julle aan my gedoen,"het by haar bly spook. Die volgende dag het sy die ouers gebel en gese Hannes kan maar bly. En eintlik het dit daarna verbasend goed gegaan. Dit was asof Hannes rustiger was en beter saamgewerk het. Net voor die Paasvakansie wou die juffrou vir die kinders iets van Pase leer en veral die konsep oordra dat daar 'n "nuwer lewe" voortspruit uit Jesus se dood. In die volgende eier was 'n lap skoenlappertjie, wat ook lewe uit die kokon verbeeld. En so het elke eiertjie 'n storie vertel. 'n Paar keer het sy een eiertjie eenkant toe geskuif, want sy kon voel daar is niks in nie. Sy het vermoed wie s'n dit is en toe gedink die klas sal nie eens agterkom een eiertjie het onoopgemaak bly le nie. "Wat van myne," het Hannes geskree. Toe moet sy maar die eier optel en oopmaak. "Hier is dan niks in nie" het sy gese. "Dis reg juffrou, maar Jesus se graf was ook leeg. Hulle het Hom daar begrawe, maar toe het sy Pa hom mos daar kom uithaal" Drie maande later is Hannes onverwags dood. Almal was verbaas toe daar bo-op die kis in die kerk net 'n mandjie vol plastiekeiers was, almal leeg....
