Suid-Afrika se Top 100 Semi-finalis vir 2018, uit 'n rekord aantal inskrywings wat deur die organisasie ontvang is. Tammy Taylor Mev Suid-Afrika is 'n platform wat die reputasie van 'n VroueBemagtigingsprogram verkry het. Die program vier die huwelik en die essensie daarvan om 'n regte vrou te wees en dit is geskep vir getroude vroue wat normaalweg nie so 'n platform sou hê om mee te ding nie en ambassadeurs vir Suid-Afrika op wêreldwye skaal te wees. Toe Jani gevra is hoe sy voel toe sy genomineer is as een van die top 100 semi-finaliste, het Cronjé gesê dit was 'n oomblik van verwondering. "Dit was 'n oomblik waar ek besef het dat jy soms net moet glo in die krag van ‘n nuwe begin." Jani het bygevoeg dat die Tammy Taylor Mev. Suid-Afrika se skoonheid en bemagtigende kompetisie nog een van haar grootste drome was. "Ek het nog altyd geglo en geweet dat ek baie het om te bied aan die wêreld en veral Suid-Afrika. Free State farm murder linked to “sword” being used as murder weapon Free State farmer Klaus Meier was last seen alive on his farm in Ladybrand at around 17:00 on Friday. The 81-year-old was murdered and found with numerous stab wounds in his body. Now, police are trying to figure out whether a “display sword” was used in the killing. News24 spoke to SAPS Captain Phumelelo Dhlamini who confirmed that Meier’s body was discovered by his wife on Sunday when she returned home. The family’s dog had also been stabbed repeatedly but it has not yet been confirmed if it survived. Police had found a display sword in the home which has lead to many reports presuming that was used as the murder weapon. Netwerk24 also reports that Meier’s pistol was taken during the attack. The murder is also said to not be the first attack on the farm, in October 2015, Meier’s wife was injured after a worker hit her on the head. At the start of the month, Agri SA released their Farm Safety report, in it, the Free State area received heavy focus due to an increase in attacks. The province saw five farmers and eight farm workers murdered in the last two years. On a national level, though, and contrary to the popular narrative, the report shows that farm murders are at their lowest rate since the late 1990s. According to AgriSA’s statistics, there were 47 farm murders recorded between 1 April 2017 and 31 March 2018, down by 19 from the previous year’s figure of 66. A few years after SA’s democracy in 1994, there were 153 farm murders recorded in 1998. Fast forward to 2001/2 and statistics show that there were a whopping 1 069 attacks. In terms of preventing the attacks and murders, the DA has repeatedly called on Police Minister Bheki Cele to establish rural safety units to protect both workers and farmers. Cele has insisted that farm murders will be dealt with like any other murder incident in the country.

Sy is tans te vinde in Potchefstroom en besig met haar finale jaar LLB (Regs-graad) en manlief is ook in sy finale jaar van Geoktrooieerde Rekenmeester. My begeerte met hierdie platform is om soveel Suid-Afrikaners moontlik te bereik en te inspireer om weer “lief te hê”. Ek was bevoorreg genoeg om die suidelike lande van Afrika met my man te reis, asook 'n paar plekke oor see, en waarheen ek ook al kom, het ek wonderlike en sterk mense ontmoet, van wie die meeste hulself onderskat. My grootste doelwit is om Suid-Afrikaners weer te inspireer om hulself werklik “lief te hê” want ek glo jy kan nie iets gee of uitdeel wat jy self nog nie ontvang het nie. Deur hierdie platform hoop ek om my veldtog "Wat Is Liefde" op 'n nasionale vlak te plaas, waar ek werkswinkels vir vroue aanbied. Ek wil vroue bemoedig en bemagtig deur middel van grimmeer lesse, sessies waar ek hul tou wys maak oor hoe om hulself stylvol te beklee met die regte snit klere, die korrekte kleur klere (volgens hul unieke velondertoon) asook hulle wys hoe om kurwes te vier en te vlei”, pragtig te styleer en hul unieke lyfies se elemente te vlei en te vier. Thabo Mofutsanyana District womenrun enterprises Thabo Mofutsanyana District women-run enterprises flourish under Women Enterprise Coaching programme The Small Enterprise Development Agencies (Seda) will host a closing awards ceremony for twenty five (25) women, within the Thabo Mofutsanyana District in Free State, who participated in the Women Enterprise Coaching Programme (WECP). The women are business owners operating enterprises with a minimum turnover of R500 000 in various industrial sectors across the district. Over a 10-month period, the participants were coached into how they can strategically lead their enterprises on to a growth path. That entailed how to setup systems, network, seek out funding opportunities, market their businesses, and improve decision making criteria. The programme was facilitated by Ntando Maseko from PNA Consulting.

Die nege munisipaliteite wat hulp gaan kry, is: Mafube (Frankfort), Maluti-a-Phofung, (Harrismith), Masilonyana (Winburg), Kopanong (Trompsburg), Letsemeng (Koffiefontein), Mantsopa (Ladybrand), Nketoana (Reitz), Tokologo (Boshof) en Mohokare (Smithfield). Die munisipaliteite sal gehelp word met bestuur en administrasie, dienslewering en infrastruktuur, en finansiële bestuur. Die regering verwag van munisipaliteite om sterk politieke en administratiewe leierskap en politieke stabiliteit te hê, hul begroting behoorlik te bestuur en gereeld terugvoer aan die gemeenskap te gee. Hulle moet ’n goed funksionerende raad en beheerstrukture hê, min vakatures en die insameling van geld moet gesond wees. Vanaf Bladsy 5 Verder sal ek vrouens graag wil inlig oor die feit dat ons elkeen met ‘n "mode DNA" gebore is en hoe om dit te identifiseer. Dit sal vrouens (en mans) help om hulself en hul vriende beter te verstaan. Nog 'n onderwerp waaroor ek baie passievol is, is KONFLIK omdat ek glo dat konflik parallel is aan groei! Wat konflik betref, is die vraag nooit "of dit sal plaasvind nie?" maar eerder "wanneer gaan dit plaasvind?". Dit alles vorm deel van my "Wat Is Liefde" veldtog. Ek sien uit daarna om Wat Is Liefde” werkswinkels aan te bied vir paartjies, eggenote en familielede. Hierdie werkswinkels skep die geleentheid vir mense om die liefdestale van hul geliefde of eggenoot te begryp, en verskaf aan hulle korrekte gereedskap oor hoe om dit prakties uit te leef. Dit is vir my baie belangrik om mense te help om hul geliefde se lieftale te identifiseer en te verstaan sodat ons almal verseker is daarvan dat ons mekaar se liefdestaal praat en werklik uitleef teenoor mekaar Ek gaan ook probeer om hierdie program na skole toe te neem om meisies op te voed oor hoe om hulself mooi en elegant te beklee, grimmeer, hulle basiese etieket te leer en seuns en dogters help wys hoe konflik omgeskakel kan word om jouself te verbeter en te verryk. Cronjé sê verder dat sy 'n “people-pleaser” en “land-diennaarres” is en dat die ingesteldheid van haar mense haar prioriteit is. Toe ek vir Jani gevra het hoe was haar reis tot dusver, het sy geantwoord met absolute optimistme. Sy sê dat elke keer as sy aan haar gemeenskap dink, mense wat vir haar sê dat hul agter haar staan, vreemdelinge wat haar stop om hallo te sê, haar borge Green Health en BCDS, smelt haar hart. "Ek kan nie die ongelooflike dankbaarheid wat ek het teenoor my mede Suid-Afrikaners beskryf nie. Ek wil graag almal bedank vir hul ondersteuning en liefde tot dusver en ek sien uit daarna om jul trots te maak en natuurlik om die kroon huis toe te bring op 10 November 2018! NEWS Op 1 Junie 2018 het die vroue van Petrus Steyn Fellowship ‘n wegbreek aand gereël ter viering van die onlangse moedersdag. Die ysbreker vir die aand het al Maandag 28 Mei begin met ‘n Selfie-Artes kompetisie. Elke dag is ‘n Selfie uitdaging aan die dames deurgegee op ‘n groep en almal moes dan hulle selfies inskryf vir beoordeling. Met Opstaan-selfies, Tandeborsel-selfies, Aktiewe- Selfies en selfs ‘n Selfie waar jy die evangelie aan iemand moet bring is daar lekker gelag en die drama-koninging is in elke dame wakker gemaak waardeur ‘n paar baie kreatiewe selfies vorendag gekom het. Elkeen het ‘n blik in die ander se daaglikse lewe gekry en met groot opwinding het al die dames reggemaak vir die groot aand. Daar aangekom is almal verwelkom met ‘n glasie alkoholvrye “gluwein” en ‘n botteltjie sap op die tafel. Almal was reeds gemaklik en in ‘n goeie luim na die week se lekker lag. Nadia van der Westhuizen open die aand met die tema uit Eksodus 35 waar die vroue deur die Gees gelei is om hulle kunsvaardigheid te gebruik om die tempel te help bou. Elke vrou is aangemoedig om die gawe van God in haar wakker te maak en te bring dit wat sy het om te help bou aan die Koningkryk van God. Daarna het die dames elkeen ‘n persentjie gekry met ‘n notaboek, pen, Skrif kaartjie en ‘n bybelstudie of storieboek, waarna ‘n Skryf vir die Koningkryk werkswinkel aangebied is. Sy het ‘n prettige tekenklas aangebied waar elkeen verskillende karakters kon teken en ‘n formaat aanleer om jou eie karakters te ontwerp. “Die woestyn, die dor land sal jubel, die droë wêreld sal juig, oortrek met affodille, hy sal in volle bloei staan, hy sal juig en sing.” (Jes. 35:1-2) Sjoe, hierdie bly vir my een van die mooiste tekste in Jesaja. Mens sien mos baie keer hoedat iemand begin blom en oorloop van vreugde as die Here in hulle lewens kom. Klip harte word sag. Fronse verdwyn. Sleepvoete word lig. Oë straal. Het jy ook al beleef dat iemand baie siek is, of ’n groot verlies gehad het, maar as hulle van die Here praat dan straal hulle gesigte en verhelder hulle oë. Mens sien sommer daai affodille geil staan te midde van die pyn en vernedering. In die Here is daar altyd nuwe hoop en moed. In die Here het jou lewe altyd sin en betekenis. Dit laat my ook dink aan die woorde van Jes. 61:3: “He sent me to give them flowers in place of their sorrow.” Ek hoop as jy jouself dalk vandag in die een of ander woestyn bevind dat jy verby die dorheid en droogheid sal kan kyk en in jou geestesoog alreeds die mooiste affodille sal sien blom. Ek hoop dít sal jou rede gee om te juig en sing.
Emotions are here to stay We all have emotions, and we always will; they are part of being human. Since that is true, I believe emotional stability should be one of the main goals of every believer. We should seek God to learn how to manage our emotions and stop them from managing us. I urge you to make emotional maturity a priority in your life. If you do not believe you are doing a good job of managing your emotions, begin to pray and seek God for emotional maturity. I also encourage you to learn what upsets you the most or prompts you to behave emotionally and be watchful during those situations.
Father, I ask for Your help to manage my emotions. Help me to mature in You and have a greater understanding of why I do the things I do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Wanneer mens boontjies kook moet bymiddels soos tamaties, asyn, suurlemoensap liefs aan die einde van die kooktyd bygevoeg word. Die suur laat die boontjies hard en ferm bly. Voeg liewers die bymiddels by sodra die boontjies gaar en sag is. Wanneer jy vleis in die oond braai, skil en sny twee uie in die helfte. Plaas die uie in ‘n oondpan. Plaas die vleis op die uie. Dit sal voorkom dat die vleis vasbrand en al die vet in die vleis drup af en trek nie in die vleis nie. Die uie kan ook geëet word. Wanneer kaas by ‘n dis gevoeg word moet dit aan die einde van die kooktyd bygevoeg word en moet teen baie lae temperature kook Laevet kaas smelt nie maklik nie. Wanneer jy kaas met ‘n sagte tekstuur gebruik en jy kan dit nie rasper nie, kap dit dan eerder fyn.

A R35,000 sponsorship provides a school with learning materials, including portable classroom libraries, and teacher training from the Read Educational Trust. At no extra cost, sponsors and up to three companions (work colleagues or family, including children of any age) spend a weekend delivering their goods in person. Convoys of offroad vehicles travel through rarely seen parts of SA to remote schools, where they meet children, families and communities. Each school is supported for at least three years and sponsors who stay the course are able to see year-by-year progress. It’s not just in reading and writing skills but also in self-confidence. For most of these children, Rally to Read is the first sign that anyone else cares about them, and the transition from withdrawn to confident is remarkable. Rally weekends usually start early Saturday morning, with the loading of materials on the back of bakkies and other offroad-capable vehicles. For sponsors without such vehicles, organisers have arranged discounted rates with a national car rental company. Convoys split up into smaller groups, each of which visits two schools. Afterwards, they all meet up again at a convenient location, usually a hotel, where they spend the night. Over dinner, team leaders and sponsors share experiences. Food and accommodation are paid for by hosts. Sunday morning is usually spent on a local excursion before everyone heads home. There are four rallies in 2018. It was five but the host of the Mpumalanga event has pulled out after running into budgetary problems. Of the remaining four, an experimental one-day rally, hosted by Shell, is already full. There is still space on the other three. The first, on September 8-9, is hosted by transport company OneLogix and will support schools around Reitz, Petrus Steyn and Tweeling in the Free State. The following weekend, September 15-16, Mercedes-Benz SA will lead sponsors into the rural areas of the old Transkei, around Butterworth. Then there’s a gap until October 27-28, when the SABC and Jonsson Workwear are among companies that will lead convoys into the Winelands region around Robertson

Dertig dubbeldraad bolle wol was nodig – dit haar lekkeis sowat drie kilogram. Brei is vir r, en sy brei sedert sy ‘n kind was. Dis nou al meer as sestig jaar wat sy die breiplenne laat klik. Saans as sy en haar man, Gert, en hulle dogter Estelle, sepies en stories kyk op televisie, is daar ‘n stille geklik van die breipenne – “agtergrondsmusiek” op sy eie. Soekie sê: “Brei is ontspannend, hou jou hande besig en jy bly terselfdertyd uit die kwaad.” Hoewel sy die kombers (eintlik ‘n pragtig deken) met liefde vir haar kleindogter gebrei het, twyfel sy twyfel of sy weer so ‘n groot brei-opdrag sal aanpak. Inussen is daar baie ander breipatrone en –werk wat wag.

Klitsgras Kyk, ons boere het nie regtig nodig om vrou te gaan soek op tv nie. Facebook het ons mos weer die week gewys. Ons lĂŞ mos sommer by ander getroude vroue aan. En as die uit gevang word dan word dit mos so stil moontlik gehou want pappie (die een wat met mammie getroud is) is mos die of dat in die dorp en die skelm pappie is jonk maar wel bekend in die gemeenskap. Dis nie iets nuuts nie dat daar gereeld 'n kat in die doker geknyp word nie maar die probleem is as jy dit Vrydae middae net na 5 buite die dorp by die draai doen. Probeer maar liefs om volgende keer 'n gastehuis of iets in 'n ander dorp te bespreek. Dit raak 'n lelike storie as daar ewe skielik 'n foto of twee op Facebook begin opduik en almal kyk maar as niemand dit "like" nie beteken dit nie jy het dit betyds afgekry nie. En daar sit ons nou met nog 'n huwelik op die rotse, 'n prokereur wat glimlag en kinders wat wonder wat het hulle dan nou verkeerd gedoen.

All new Nissan Leaf
Not quite a hot hatch, more of a warm one, the new 2019 Corolla Hatchback is nonetheless a signal Toyota is recognizing its long-suffering motorheads have been waiting forever for some measure of fun-to-drive to go along with the aggressive looks its product line has been wearing. The Corolla Hatchback, which made its debut at the New York International Auto Show in April, will arrive in dealerships this August. Not a warmed over Corolla iM (nee Scion iM), it is a brand-new model — one with a revised sport-tuned suspension and built atop the new Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. What’s under the hood is a 2.0-litre, direct-injected four-cylinder engine that pumps out a respectable 168 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, a solid uptick — not to mention smaller, lighter and quieter — than the iM’s 1.8L’s 137 horsepower and 126 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is mated with either a six-speed manual or a new Direct Shift-CVT. The CVT has simulated 10-speed sequential steps, a Sport mode and available paddle shifters, plus what Toyota is saying is the world’s first launch gear in a passenger vehicle CVT. This improves transmission efficiency in lower gear ratios, where belt efficiency is typically poor. The Hatchback comes in S, SE or XSE trim levels. Even S comes with single-zone automatic climate control, a 4.2-inch multi-information display and push-button start with a three-door SmartKey system. An electronic parking brake, power windows, and two front USB outlets are standard as well. The SE adds 16inch wheels, heated front seats, paddle shifters located behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an anti-theft system with engine immobilizer. Available features on SE Upgrade version include 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel and blind-spot monitoring. The topline XSE builds on the SE Upgrade’s amenity palette by adding dual-zone climate control, combination leather seating, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.The instrument panel and doors receive unique stitching, and behind the multi-function steering wheel, a seven-inch TFT multiinformation display in the instrument cluster shows turn-by-turn navigation and various vehicle settings.
