Based on the Member usage across the Club, it looks like everyone is enjoying their summer here at RBCC! There were so many great events in July starting off with 1,700 Members and their guests attending the Fourth of July Celebration at RBCC. The following weekend was the muchanticipated White Dinner hosted by C and the weekend after that the 72 Annual Men’s Member Guest Tournament. The month ended with a fireworks display at the Summer Bash: A Night in Positano. In addition to these events the golf course and racquet courts were busy every day and the camps and pool were buzzing with excited children. Many thanks to the Talon Tribe for making each one of these events, and every day, so special.
I would like to share with you a few things that I encourage you to take note of over the next few weeks.
A few days ago, you received an email regarding the Member survey that GGA is working with us on as we develop RBCC’s Strategic Plan. The survey will explore a range of topics, including our Club's identity, future facilities, and capital planning priorities. Your participation will help shape the next chapter of the Club and directly inform future investments, enhancements, and the overall member experience.
The more Members that complete the survey the better the information we will have as we look to determine what Members would like RBCC to be now and in the future. I encourage all Members and their spouses /designated companions to complete the survey – it should only take about 20 minutes - and ask your fellow Members to do the same.
This coming week you will be receiving the ballot for the four candidates running for the Board. Please take the time to read about the candidates and cast your vote. I would like to acknowledge the time and dedication the Leadership Development Committee put into the interview and nominating process: Mike Stakias, Brian Barrows, Paul Cowan, Sharon Covington, Gerry Desmond, Lora Drewer, Sanjay Kapuria and Suzanne Rowland. Their work is instrumental in ensuring the Board serves in the best interest of the overall membership.
The Annual Membership Meeting is on Saturday, September 5 at 10am in the Ballroom. It’s an opportunity for Members to hear from the Board and management about what was accomplished over the past year and what to expect in the future. th

John Caruso Board President
I hope you consider attending.
Finally, I want to address the pause the Board put on the Future of the Golf Course Project. The decision was to pause the vote on the project. We are not pausing the work that we need to do to move forward with the project. We continue to work with our architect, engineers, regulatory agencies and neighboring HOA’s to finalize the drainage plan that will enable us to secure all approvals to be confident that we have what is necessary to move forward with the membership vote for the project. The Board remains committed to the Future of the Golf Course and we will continue to keep you informed as we have updates.
We still have a lot of summer ahead of us.Look for details about upcoming events in this issue of Eagle Point.

"Warm summer sun, shine kindly here; Warm southern wind, blow softly here; Green sod above, lie light, lie light; Good night, dear heart, good night, good night."
- Mark Twain
Every summer has its own personality, and this one has certainly made an impression.
As I walk around the Club each day, I'm struck by the incredible energy that fills every corner of our campus. Whether it's a full tee sheet for Pat and his team in the morning, tennis and pickleball courts buzzing with activity for Emma, fitness classes bringing Members together, kids racing to Erika’s camps, families enjoying the pool, or friends gathering over dinner, there's a wonderful sense that our Club is being enjoyed exactly as it was meant to be. This has been one of those seasons where participation has been exceptionally strong across all our amenities. Even our special events continue to exceed expectations, with
registrations filling almost as quickly as we can announce them Seeing Members and their guests come together to create lasting memories is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do
None of that happens by accident.
It happens because every member of our Talon Tribe shows up each day committed to delivering experiences that make you proud to call RBCC your Club Whether they're greeting you when you arrive, preparing the golf course before sunrise, serving dinner, coaching a tennis clinic, running kids' camp, or keeping the pool sparkling, our staff continues to put its best foot forward. Their passion, professionalism, and genuine care for our Members are what transforms our facilities into a truly exceptional club experience
While the Club has been operating at full speed this summer, the Board has been equally busy looking ahead
One of our most important priorities is updating our Strategic Plan a process that will help define where RBCC is headed over the coming years. That work includes the strategic survey that recently arrived in your inbox, a comprehensive market analysis conducted by GGA, and the continued evaluation of solutions to our golf course drainage challenges Each of
these pieces plays an important role on its own, but together they will help us redefine our Club's North Star, our shared vision, priorities, and purpose for the future.
Your participation is an essential part of that process.
If you haven't already completed the strategic survey, I hope you'll take a few minutes to do so. The feedback we receive from our Members will directly influence the decisions we make and the investments we prioritize in the years ahead. Simply put, we cannot chart the best course forward without hearing from you.
We'll share more about this work at our Annual Meeting, along with a review of the successes from our Centennial year and an exciting look at the programming and initiatives that will continue to keep the Club relevant, vibrant, and welcoming for every generation of Members.
This month also gave me an opportunity to spend some meaningful time with our Talon Tribe team members
During this month's Coffee with C, instead of talking, I listened We invited our staff to share their thoughts, ideas, and experiences, and the conversations were thoughtful, honest, and incredibly insightful I'm continually amazed by
how much knowledge exists within our team The people doing the work every day often have the clearest perspective on how we can improve, work more efficiently, and create an even better experience for our Members
Those conversations reminded me of something I've always believed: our team members aren't simply employees; they're the heart and soul of this Club and I'm grateful for everything they bring to RBCC every single day
That spirit of listening doesn't stop with our staff
Whether we chat while you're heading to the first tee, you stop by my office, send me an email, or participate in our strategic survey, your feedback is just as valuable. It helps us fine-tune today's experience while shaping tomorrows The best clubs never stop listening, never stop improving, and never stop evolving, and that's exactly what we intend to do
So please keep sharing your thoughts. Together, we'll continue creating the experiences, traditions, and moments that put smiles on faces and make Rehoboth Beach Country Club such a special place to belong
As we move into August, many of our families begin thinking about a new school year, and the area’s summer visitors slowly stop coming to the beach (finally!). For those of us lucky enough to be here year-round, that means we're about to enter my favorite time at the beach. Late August, September, and October offer beautiful weather, quieter days, spectacular sunsets, and a chance to enjoy our community at a slightly gentler pace.
Personally, I can't wait
Thank you for making this season such a memorable one I look forward to seeing many of you around the Club as we finish the summer strong and continue building an exciting future together
The ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING of Rehoboth Beach Country Club will be held in the Clubhouse Ballroom. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2026 10:00AM

A bright and refreshing non-alcoholic brew inspired by the classic Paloma cocktail Vibrant grapefruit and zesty lime flavors are balanced by gentle agave sweetness, subtle malt character, and a crisp, slightly tart finish. Enjoy it on its own or add your choice of tequila or vodka to make it boozy.

The cicada killers, that look like “wasps” in the traps near Hole 7, are harmless and don’t bother humans. We have treated for them but if you see them don’t worry as they are harmless Foxes on the property have become more visible and comfortable around members, particularly near the Halfway House and clubhouse Please do not feed them, as this encourages interaction. They are being monitored and have been beneficial in controlling the geese population We will reassess if they become a nuisance.
The course continues to perform exceptionally well despite drought conditions Greens remain healthy and are rolling 12–13 feet, with overall conditioning in excellent shape. Minor black algae appeared on the greens during recent heat and humidity but is being managed proactively. This is a normal summer occurrence and will subside as conditions dry Fairways, tees, and approaches remain in strong condition overall. Areas impacted by winter bermudagrass injury, most notably the 9th approach, will be addressed this fall with seeding or sod Due to unsuccessful overseeding of the short game area in extreme heat, the area will be sodded with bentgrass this fall, consistent with the successful approach on Hole 15.
The most significant issue over the past month was a fish kill in the large pond caused by a combination of prolonged drought, low water levels, and extreme heat. Reduced oxygen levels, followed by a rapid temperature change after a storm, caused the pond to turn over and temporarily impact aquatic life Cleanup was completed quickly, and the pond has since returned to normal conditions. Weather-related events like this are largely unavoidable, but the team will continue monitoring pond conditions throughout the summer.
New merchandise has arrived at the Golf Shop, with even more exciting items on the way for the season! This month’s Merch of the Month features stylish new arrivals for both men and women:
Men: Men's Holderness and Bourne
Women: Ladies Peter Millar

Sodding was the right decision, as bermudagrass recovery would have taken too long. With expanded drainage improvements, bentgrass is now better positioned to thrive long-term While initial consideration included Ironcutter bermudagrass, bentgrass established quickly, performed well for the DE Amateur, and continues to progress as expected Some summer stress is normal, and conditions are being closely managed to support continued growth
RBCC’s Horticulturist Courtney took a group of ladies on her first Garden Tour and it was very well received as everyone had a great time Her work over the last year is paying dividends as the plants mature and come to life. Be sure to sign up for her August Garden Tour!
