SUMMER AT THE REGIS CENTRE We have another packed season this summer at the Regis Centre, with everything from dance to drama, top class variety and family fun. Our new Youth Theatre has got off to a terrific start. Classes run every Saturday during term time with tuition from a professional drama teacher. We'll be working towards productions on our stage so it’s an exciting venture to be a part of. For more information visit page 27 or the ARTY page on our website. If you're looking for summer drama activities, find out about our Show in a Week where youngsters get the chance to produce and perform in Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book (p.16).

Highlights this season include The Story of Billy Joel (p.11) - a biographical look at the legendary career of the ‘Piano Man’. We are also looking forward to A Night of Dirty Dancing (p.12), a visit from one of the original cast members of Dad’s Army (p.14), legendary psychic Sally Morgan (p.15) and our Summer Variety Show (p.20). Featuring a host of professional entertainers, performers and musicians, The Summer Variety Show will be something truly special. We really are a community hub and you’ll see some new pages in our brochure detailing the myriad of classes and workshops that happen here at the Regis Centre. ALTAN

No Irish traditional band in the last dozen years has had a wider impact on audiences and music lovers throughout the world than Altan. Exquisitely produced award-winning recordings ranging dynamically from the most sensitive and touching old Irish songs all the way to hard-hitting reels and jigs, and with their heartwarming, dynamic live performances, Altan have moved audiences from Donegal to Tokyo to Seattle. The seeds of the band lie in the music and fun of gatherings and sessions in kitchens and pubs in Donegal where virtuoso music was heard in an atmosphere of respect and intimacy. Tony Strudwick and the band have performed throughout the UK and Europe for many years, entertaining at various venues and prestigious events. The band has had the pleasure of performing for Prince Charles and a number of the musicians have performed for the Queen when serving with the British Armed Forces. This concert will not only be an evening of fantastic music and memories, but an evening of varied and enjoyable "Big Band" entertainment. Celebrating the Big O’s 80th Birthday in THE ROY ORBISON STORY Sat 13 August 7.30pm This musical and semi-autobiographical celebration of The Big O’s musical legacy is quite simply unmissable, as Barry Steele takes you on this specially revamped musical journey in time, from the early sun years right through to the late 80s and the internationally acclaimed concert ‘The Black and White Night’. The show also pays homage to the time Roy spent with the Traveling Wilburys. Add to the mix star guests celebrating the music from legends Roy actually toured and performed with, backed by fabulous musicians and singers and you have yourselves an incredible fusion of 60s solid gold classics and 80s contemporary musical genius.

THE 24HR MUSICAL Sat 3 September 7.30pm No don’t worry. It’s not a musical that lasts for 24 hours! It’s in actual fact an intrepid group of local performers who are taking on the challenge of learning and staging a popular musical in just 24 hours, with no sleep! What’s the musical? Well both the performers and the audience won’t know until 7.30pm on the Friday evening. The cast then have all night and day to learn their parts, perfect the harmonies, practice the dance routines and perform the musical in front of a paying audience. All proceeds of the night go towards the Regis Centre and its upkeep. Previous 24hr Musicals have been Seussical the Musical, Pippin and West Side Story, all received to great acclaim and standing ovations!

Drama for ages 8 to 16 years. Just ÂŁ3 per session Arun Theatre Youth is a new and exciting youth theatre on the South Coast. ARTY enables young people between the ages of 8 and 16 to get involved in drama, providing a broad range of high quality theatre experiences in a positive and supportive environment. Working towards performances in the Alexandra Theatre, young people can develop their skills, not only in theatre and performance but also in confidence, communication and creativity working with theatre industry professionals. The building is a 1980s architectural landmark which provides a distinctive and unique venue for any function. Our spaces are highly versatile and can be tailored to your needs. These include our Studio space, smaller Gallery space, and airy and spacious foyer area, the wonderful 357 seat Alexandra Theatre and the Little Alex - a 60 seat studio theatre situated on the stage of the Alexandra Theatre.

ACCESS The Regis Centre welcomes all patrons and has an extensive range of services to ensure you have an enjoyable and comfortable visit. Please mention your requirements at the time of booking and don’t hesitate to ask the Duty Manager if there is anything you need on arrival. Parking:

There are four parking spaces for blue badge holders at the front of the Centre and additional blue badge bays in the public car park next to the Centre.

Hearing Impaired:

There is a hearing loop in our auditorium.

Assistance Dogs:

We welcome assistance dogs in all areas of our building. Please talk to our Box Office staff about any special requirements when booking.

Auditorium:

Row J has 3 permanent wheelchair spaces but we can accommodate up to 8 wheelchairs with prior notice. Row J is also suitable for patrons with walking difficulties. Due to our licensing regulations, we are unable to permit the transfer from wheelchairs to theatre seats.

WHERE TO FIND US By Car: Follow the brown signs to the Regis Centre. We are between Belmont Street and the Esplanade, There is a large car park next door. FOR SAT NAV OUR POST CODE IS PO21 1BL. By Bus: Take a bus to Bognor Regis High Street. Walk east towards the main shopping parade (London Road) and turn right through the arcade. We are located at the end of the arcade (5 minutes walk). By Train: Take a train to Bognor Regis station. Leave the station by the main exit through the booking hall. Turn left to the main shopping precinct (London Road). Cross into the arcade. We are located at the end (10 minutes walk).
