SPRING

2022

LEVELLING UP FUND Our team at the Regis Centre in Bognor Regis are celebrating after learning that the venue, which includes the Alexandra Theatre, has been awarded a £12.2 million grant from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund. The fund comes from a scheme that is part of the Government’s plan to reset the relationship between central and local government by putting local councils at the heart of delivering the Government’s programme to improve opportunities across the UK. The funding was successfully ‘bid’ for by Arun District Council (ADC) in a lengthy and complex process. Hazel Latus, Chairman of Arun Arts says: “To say we are over the moon is an understatement and our success also reflects on the superb team we have here; both our dedicated and highly professional staff and our exceptional volunteers who are passionate about the Theatre and everything that happens within the building.”

YOUTH THEATRE ARTY enables young people between the ages of 8 and 16 to get involved in drama, providing a broad range of high quality theatre experiences in a positive and supportive environment. Working towards performances in the Alexandra Theatre, young people can develop their skills, not only in theatre and performance but also in confidence, communication and creativity working with theatre industry professionals To find out more please email info@regiscentre.co.uk and book your first free session. TUES 10 - SAT 14 MAY 7.30PM, 2.30PM SAT MAT - TICKETS £18 / £15.50 UNDER 16s, NUS Music by Jeanine Tesori Book and Lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire

Based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the book by William Steig

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears. “Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek….” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek. Irreverently fun for the whole family, Shrek proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre. An amateur production presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
