Gee took his own life in 2021.
“I bought a Harley to ride in 2016 and took over the ride in 2015,” said Sergio. “The ride and causes mean so much more, every ride I now do for Gee.”

Movember has been the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride since 2016. Both organisations share a simple goal: to bring people together and change the face of men’s health. Globally, prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men and over ten million men are living with or beyond a prostate cancer diagnosis. Funds raised by DGR help to power Movember’s work across two of the most complex issues facing men around the world: prostate cancer and mental health.
To date, the event has raised over $57million with over £1million being raised in England alone.

SIX makes its royal return to Leeds
The crowning glory of Broadway, the West End and beyond, the international smash-hit musical SIX, makes its royal return to Leeds Grand Theatre this summera following three sell-out visits.
Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, SIX follows the six wives of Henry VIII as they take to the mic to tell their own personal tales, remixing 500 years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st century girl power. These Queens may have green sleeves but their lipstick is rebellious red.
Since its early days as a student production in a 100-seat room at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the show has fast become a global musical phenomenon. On the international stage, SIX currently has productions playing on Broadway at the Lena Horne Theatre and two concurrent North American tours, including a seven-week run in Las Vegas, with further stagings announced in Canada and Holland this autumn. SIX will open in Seoul, South Korea, and recently completed an Australian tour. Back on home turf, the London production continues its reign in the West End at the Vaudeville Theatre (its third royal residence) and the UK and Ireland tour
Winner of the 2022 Tony Award for Best Original Score and Best Costume Design, the 2022 WhatsOnStage Award for Best West End Show, and a gold-disk winning album, this sell-out Tudor takeoff has ‘an incredibly strong and powerful message’ (Australian) and is ‘pure entertainment’ (New York Times).
SIX is at Leeds Grand Theatre from Tuesday 8 – Saturday 12 July 2025. Book tickets online at leedsheritagetheatres.com or call the

It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped from a biological weapons laboratory. Still living in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amid the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. When one of them decides to venture into the dark heart of the mainland, he soon discovers a mutation that has spread to not only the infected, but other survivors as well.

This central gem is overseen by manager Thibet, alongside long-time team member Tui, whose warmth and impeccable service have made them beloved by regulars and newcomers alike. The location also features a beautiful private
event space, making it ideal for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations, including business lunches, birthday parties, and everything in between.
The story of Sukhothai began in 2002, when founder Ban Kaewkraikhot, originally from Thailand’s Sukhothai
location in Chapel Allerton. Her vision was simple yet powerful: to share the her homeland with her new community in Leeds. With a handful of cherished family recipes and a chef’s discipline honed in Thailand, Ban built a restaurant that quickly became a local institution.
From those modest beginnings, the Sukhothai brand has grown to include three branches across Yorkshire—Leeds City Centre, Chapel Allerton, and Harrogate—each maintaining the same high standards and service. But it’s the city centre location that continues to draw visitors from across the region and beyond, offering a perfect blend of authentic Thai atmosphere and metropolitan sophistication.
A key reason for Sukhothai’s continued success is its commitment to quality. The restaurant proudly sources its meat from Sykes House Farm, known for ethically-reared, premium-grade produce, and its fresh seafood from Tarbett’s Fish, a local, family-run business with a

Gelato parlour & hot food kitchen
As the old Italian saying goes, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was great gelato. After a successful debut season last year the family took a step back reflecting and realised some changes were needed. Relying on premium gelato from suppliers simply wasn’t meeting the standards.
If you want to make the best Italian artisan gelato you need to learn from the best – and that’s exactly what Sundays family did when they decided to upgrade and relaunch Sunday’s in Moortown, Leeds.
Committed to quality, the family travelled to Bologna, Italy – the birthplace of gelato –and trained under true artisan gelato masters as well as working with Carpigiani, the market-leading manufacturer, who helped them design and build a new state-of-the-art gelato kitchen.
Being of Greek heritage family, we embraced our European Italian friends, absorbing all their knowledge, guidance and recommendations. There’s no need to go to Italy to get an artisan gelato now, it’s been replicated on your doorstep in North Leeds!”
The family are passionate about serving the best and freshest products every day and now believe they serve the perfect, authentic Italian gelato. Sunday’s produce 24 scrumptious flavours and source ingredients locally wherever possible, although there are exceptions. Take the pistachio gelato for example, the family use pistachios grown on Mount Etna, Sicily, regarded globally as the pinnacle of flavour and quality. You can really taste the difference.
Upgrading the quality of gelato wasn’t the only change at Sunday’s. On the hot food side they have enlarged their production kitchen and sell fresh fish and freshly-cut chips on-site every day, just like the parlour’s big brother, Fryday’s, on Street Lane.
When it came to coffee, Sunday’s enlisted the help of James Hoffman, the 2008 World Barista Champion, and his company, Square Mile Coffee Roasters London. After being carefully vetted by them, they now supply Sunday’s with their finest quality fresh beans.
Sunday’s understands that times are hard for all of us right now with costs for everything on the rise. That’s why we’ve strived hard to keep our prices affordable for everyone without compromising on the quality. Here are some examples:

What started as a seed of an idea quickly blossomed thanks to the help and support
Donna
Donna Crewdson is completely candid when she says she was taking a gamble by opening holiday lets in the property. But, keen to set up a sustainable business she could run from the comfort of her own home, she did just that – and hasn’t looked back. Buoyed by the success of converting an old double garage into a luxurious cottage, which opened in 2021, she set about converting an existing four-
stable barn into two further lets.
Since opening in December 2024, Springwood Barns has attracted a host of visitors who have all been blown away by the luxury interiors and tranquil setting.
And while this has been a ‘one woman vision’, it has been far from a ‘one woman mission’ with a host of family, friends, neighbours, tradesmen and suppliers all lending their support.
“I must have been mad taking on a project like that
with builder Roger Raven
but always thought it was feasible,” recalled Donna. “I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support of the local community, I can’t thank them enough.”
Central to the Springwood Barns project was builder Roger Raven, who coordinated all the different elements of the build and faced lots of challenges from the local planning department who were very strict about keeping the original look of the barns.
“Roger is actually my best friend’s husband so we know each other well,” added Donna. “He’s a lovely guy and his attention to detail is unbelievable.”
Roger relied on lots of local suppliers, including Alfred Dunham and Howdens, both based in
Donna would also like to thank her next-door neighbour of over 20 years, Nick, who supplied moving equipment and helped to rip out the interior of the barns as well removing all waste throughout the duration of the project.
Father and son Mick and Corey Dubik, another
provided all plumbing services whilst Conor Dubik was on hand for all electricals.
On the landscaping side, Rob Foster erected all the fencing and Jimmy and Rob, from Barlow, installed the printed concrete terraces.
And the help didn’t stop there. Inside the barn properties, which both sleep up to four people and
throughout, Donna used Buxworth-based Set in Stone UK Ltd for the quartz kitchen work surfaces and visited the
Halifax for furnishings.
“Anna Smith at Set in Stone was amazing and the which is another family business, has some Donna.
Donna would like to thank Lucy, who is the landlady at the nearby Rutland Arms pub, who offered to help with the turndown services.

as well an open plan living services. Springwood Barn No 2 Merlyn also has a
and bathroom but has the addition of a dining tablethe other lets have breakfast bar seating. Both conversions have access to a rear terrace with views across the open countryside.
Looking at the properties, you’d never know they had to follow a strict brief; the overall look is very much of a barn conversion but with an added contemporariness that promotes a luxury feel. As with the initial Springwood
high-end.
All properties are dogfriendly, have disabled access
and there is plenty of free parking on site as well as recently installed electric car chargers for added convenience. Donna even provides the essentials such as milk in the fridge, biscuits along with tea and coffee.
“I’m really passionate about hosting, I want my guests to enjoy their stay here,” Donna added. “I want to provide a home from home with that little bit of luxury. We’re in a great location and are easily accessible
travelling by car or train. And, of course, the Peak District is right on our doorstep.”
Springwood Cottage and Barns can be booked through AirBnB, where Donna is classed as a ‘Guest Favourite’ and has an overall rating of 4.99 (out of 5), as well as Booking.com, where she has just been awarded 9.8 out of Awards 2025. What to expect from hospital to home. By Mr Joseph Aderinto.
f you’re scheduled for a hip replacement, you’re not alone, thousands of people undergo this life-changing procedure every year to relieve pain and improve mobility. Within hours or by the next morning, physiotherapists will help you begin walking with a frame or crutches. Early movement is crucial not only for your hip but also to reduce the risk of complications.
Preventing blood clots (VTE Prophylaxis)
One important part of your recovery is preventing blood clots, known medically as venous thromboembolism (VTE). After surgery, your doctor will prescribe blood-thinning medication and encourage regular movement. You may also be given

Going home and the first few weeks
Most patients stay in hospital for 1-3 days. Once you’re safely mobile and able to manage basic tasks, you’ll be discharged home, often with a follow-up plan and physiotherapy instructions.
At home, it’s important to keep walking regularly, gradually increasing your distance each day. You may still need crutches or a walking aid for a few weeks.
