Greetings Regina Alumnae, As we head into another beautiful springtime in Michigan, it truly does feel like a new season! Regina and our communities are healthier and more vibrant than we’ve been in years. Back on March 11, 2020, at my inaugural as President, I asked the Alumnae to provide us with their time, talent, and treasures. I’m proud of the commitment you have given to Regina since then. You have committed to our various fundraising events. You have committed to giving back with your amazing talents. The intentional support you’ve shown to Regina continues to assist us in providing a life-changing experience for our young women; the future leaders of tomorrow. We are thriving in all aspects of the school, including a robust enrollment for our incoming freshman class! We are excited about what lies ahead and are appreciative of your support!

Suzanne Bante '75 - Alumnae Relations Director My Fellow Regina Alumnae, It is surprising and amazing to be back at Regina! Since returning last October each day offers the opportunity for new experiences and surprising “blasts from the past!” On one of my first days back, I walked into the conference room and there sat an organ! I was certain Sr. Concelia was going to come shuffling across the room as she did in 601. I want to thank the members of my Class of 1975 for their support and belief in me. Every day is exciting because I have the opportunity to develop a new relationship with Regina Alumnae. My focus for the position will be to build the Regina Alumnae Community by individual classes and as a whole. Our leadership has a vision of the kind of community we can become. Since my return, we have hosted the traditional annual events including the 65 Anniversary Gala, Winterfest Holiday Celebration, a Virtual Trivia Night, enjoyed Nunsense and we just hosted over 100 children for the Easter Egg Hunt. The year has also brought some new beginnings for the department as well, the creation and the implementation of the Crown Legacy League, and the beginning of Regional Alumnae Gatherings. We are now getting the Alumnae Association up and running again post COVID. The 4th annual march Plaidness Giving Challenge was held, and our amazing alumnae raised just under $48,000 for captains were able to have 9 classes make recruitment video. Itclass was Alumnaeand scholarships. This year we began the aprocess of recruiting interesting, as all but one of the classes who made videos made it to the sweet 16. My proudest moment was when I was able to share messages between the Class of 94 and the class of 78, each sharing their congratulations on the other and praising their opponent. As the school year draws to a close, I will enjoy the opportunity to experience the traditions of Regina from senior farewell, to baccalaureate, and of course graduation. This year as well we have the Classes of 70, 71, and 72 joining us for a Mass and reception to celebrate receiving the 50-year pin.

Amy Dulgerian Mrs. Amy Dulgerian, Regina Counselor, was awarded the Amazing Catholic Educator Award for 2022 by the Catholic Foundation of Michigan. Mrs. Dulgerian was recognized for being the epitome of a counselor that exhibits Catholic principles and values inside and outside of her office. The tireless support she shows as she guides our students to succeed in high school and beyond is truly amazing.
Diane Laffey, Athletic Director and staff member of Regina High School for 52 years, will be retiring at the end of the spring sports season. She began her career at Regina in 1970 as a physical education teacher and moved through several different roles at the school including Spanish teacher and her current position as Athletic Director. She is considered a legend in the high school sports community as she is a member of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, the National Federation of State High School Associations Hall of Fame, Michigan Softball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, Michigan Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and several others. In 1991, Laffey was the recipient of the MHSAA Women In Sports Leadership Award presented to the person who makes major contributions to prepare women for positions in athletic administration.
During her time as a coach, she has won over 600 basketball games and over 1,200 softball games as well as producing hundreds of athletes that have gone on to further their education in college. Her teams have won 7 state title softball championships and 15 Catholic League Championships. Regina High School will be honoring Diane with a retirement tribute ceremony and dinner at Penna's of Sterling on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 6:30 PM. The event is open to all members of the community who were impacted by Diane’s legacy. Tickets for the event are on sale now. Proceeds from this event will benefit Regina’s facilities and athletic fields.

Blessing Given to Regina Beverlee Miller Raymond '68 Beverlee Miller Raymond has graciously enhanced the lives of ten new Regina families! Given her generous heart and commitment to Regina, Beverlee established the Beverlee Miller Scholarship Fund. Through this scholarship, qualified applicants receive full tuition and school-associated expenses for all 4 years as a saddlelite. While visiting Regina in March, Beverlee and her husband, John, enjoyed a school tour given by members of the National Honor Society and the Crown Legacy League. Highlights of the tour were a presentation in the new STEM collaborative classroom by science teacher, Mike Mayer, along with a visit to the new Robotics Makerspace Lab! Scholarship applicants arrived at the school for a meet and greet where Beverlee imparted her wisdom to prospective students sharing stories about her life, lessons learned, and the impact of her Regina High School education. The prospective scholarship recipients were interviewed by a team of two interviewers and the teams made final selections that afternoon. Beverlee plans to personally mentor the students, even assisting with cafeteria assistance and a surprise from the Saddle Shop. Interview Team comprised of: Beverlee (Miller) Raymond '68, M. POWDERPUFF! Seniors defeat Marian to claim the 5-Peat!
This year marked Regina's 5th year in a row winning the annual Powderpuff game against Marian High School with a final 17-10 score. It was an exciting day filled with cheering fans, proud alumnae, supportive family and friends, and exceptional seniors who truly played their hearts out on the field! We are so proud of their hard work and determination!

Alumnae Mass & Brunch The Annual Regina Alumnae Mass and Brunch was the Sunday after the Powderpuff victory over Marian! There were over 50 in attendance for the event, the first gathering post-COVID 19. A lovely brunch was served and enjoyed by everyone. The 2021 Distinguished Alumna Award was presented to Carol Goodman '74 at the brunch.
65th Blue and White Gala Anniversary In November, Regina hosted the Blue and White 65th Anniversary Gala! It was a truly delightful celebration of the school's history. We are blessed to have such an amazing community of alumnae, staff, students, and supporters who love Regina and believe in our mission. The event featured a 360-degree photo booth, live music from 1994 alumna, Chiara Clayton, decade-themed hors d'oeuvres, and Regina memorabilia highlighting our school’s 65-year legacy. The event raised over $50,000 for the school!
Winterfest
It was an extraordinary and festive evening at our second annual Winterfest and Alumnae Christmas Party. There were smiles on every face! The festivities featured an ice carving, Santa's reindeer, music from the Regina Choral Ensemble, pop-up shops, and more! We truly enjoyed ringing in the Christmas season with our amazing community of students, families, alumnae, and friends.

March Plaidness Congratulations to the Class of 1994 on winning the
MARCH PLAIDNESS GIVING CHALLENGE!
Thank you to all who participated and helped us exceed our goal - earning over $47,800 for the Alumnae Scholarship Fund!
We thought March Plaidness 2021 was a great year. Well, once again, we Saddlelites came together for a great cause and completely exceeded our goal. In 2019 we raised a little over $9,000. In 2020, even with the pandemic, we raised a little over $10,000. Last year was our best year with over $34,000 raised...until this year. $47,794! UNBELIEVABLE! Congratulations once again to both the class of 1978 and the class of 1994 for their dedication to Regina and this competition. These classes had not only the highest donation amounts but also the highest class participation. 1978 had 37 people donate on their behalf, and 1994 had 75. The majority of the donations for the championship round came in during the last hour of the competition, so it was truly neck and neck. The Class of 1978 brought in $5,322 JUST IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND! Their competition total was $9,538! While the Class of 1994 may have trailed for a little bit on day 1 of the final round, they certainly didn't end that way. In the championship round, 1994 donated $7,223 - making their competition total a record-high $14,172! On behalf of Regina High School, thank you for your participation over the last couple of weeks (and for dealing with all our emails and posts!)! The proceeds from this challenge are truly going to make a difference for our Regina families. Many of these families make great sacrifices in order to send their daughters to Regina. And Regina is extremely proud of our Alumnae Community for their generosity to assist these families and pave the way for future Saddlelites. We have said for the last two years, "May the Best Plaid Win!" For the year 2022, the Class of 1994 is the best plaid - and for the second year in a row! That is, until next year... Thank you for supporting Regina High School! May God continue to bless you and all your loved ones!
Crown Legacy League Is a new program that began at in the fall of 2021 The Mission: To promote leadership and legacy inspired by a culture of philanthropy.
The Crown Legacy League is open to all incoming Regina High School Seniors. As the journey as a Regina student ends, the journey as a Regina Alumna just begins. The Crown Legacy League hosts workshops throughout the year led by select Regina alumnae and their colleagues. These workshops cover life skills pertaining to networking, financial planning, public speaking, and transitioning skills for success. This is an opportunity to meet and be mentored by accomplished Regina alumnae at events including an alumnaeled women’s empowerment breakfast, and then culminating in an inspirational luncheon in the spring. As a member of the Crown Legacy League and in honor of the founding year of Regina High School, each senior is asked to commit to donating $19.56 per year for (5) years. Donations would occur senior year at Regina and then the following four years postgraduation, thus establishing their legacy and making a difference to Regina students!
This year we had 22 girls complete the Crown Legacy League Program. The featured Alumnae Mentors included: Helen Maksym Hicks ‘74, Linda Strussione ‘78, Dr. Pamela Zarkowski ‘71, and Suzanne Bartone Bante ‘75. The program was led by a group of 9 seniors who served on the Leadership Team and help organize the programs and events for the academic year.
Career Day 2022
This year the Counseling Department presented one of the best Career Day programs ever! The day featured our talented Alumnae who returned to Regina to share a glimpse of their day-to-day experiences. WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR THE DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT OF OUR ALUMNAE!
