Spooky Saddlelites
BY MIA SCHLENDER
On October 31st at Regina High School, we had a Spooktacular celebration during our lunch period for our annual costume contest. Each class came up with creative costumes to celebrate Halloween, but only one costume could win, so it is time to present this year's winners!
For our Freshman, we investigated throughout the grade for the best costume and found investigators Jailyn Houth and Mary Thacker to solve our case! With their intriguing detective costumes, they were crowned freshman winners. Our winner for the class of ‘27 was Evan Campell in the inflatable balloon animal! It was a tight call between our inflatable costumes, but eventually, she ended the exciting day with possession of the anticipated Starbucks gift card.
In our junior class, the winners were Gru and the Minions. We saw great competition in this class, but this group came out on top! Winning the contest was more satisfactory to them than stealing the moon. For our amazing class of 2025, our winners were Willy Wonka and the Oompa Loompas! Our stellar group shined through with their creativity and amazing style with these costumes. We even got a special entertainment bonus when they performed the Oompa Loompa song for us. An extra bonus was the comical dance battle to decide the winners of the staff. Kevin as a Regina Saddlelite and Mr. Sabo as an Egyptian pulled off some extraordinary moves, but in the end Mr. Sabo and his Egyptian costume ruled the party!
With an unforgettable costume contest, this wrapped up the Halloween season of 2024. We can’t wait to see what our classmates come up with next year. Happy Halloween!
