FORA'S SUNFLOWERS
"We lived in Kosovo during the Balkan wars, and we frequently drove to Macedonia where we could get a hamburger and visit a movie theater. Along the way we drove through fields of sunflowers that stretched out as far as we could see, their faces always turned towards the sun. Our students are like those flowers in that they automatically turn towards brightness, again and again...they want to learn, to understand, to participate fully in the culture around them, so they turn towards the opportunities to learn, every day.
