In my opinion nature is a great place to calm down and enjoy the natural world. Especially as the worlds tech gets smarter I like to take a weekend off in a more rural area than London. Being in nature is actually a very good cure for your mental health even just having a stroll in the woods will make you happy. However sometimes you just don’t have the determination to go outside so you just have to push yourself and you will be surprised how nice it feels to spend some time outside. So it is very important to save these rural areas from becoming urban.
WhyIsRecycling So Important?
Recycling is crucial to keep our environment safe and clean because it conserves lots of the resources we take for granted such as plastic. Over 100,000 marine mammals such as turtles and 1 million seabirds die yearly from plastic pollution, which is approximately equivalent to 273 marine animals per day. Recycling also reduces harmful greenhouse gases and emissions, this prevents the rise in global temperature. Recycling also saves energy with manufactued products being reused instead of wasted. Recycling also requires significantly less energy than creating materials from scratch. If we all decide to recycle we can save our environment and many more animals!

As the record player spins, classic tunes play. Old butterflies hatch from their cocoons and the sound of the beats livens up the room.
Now all you can hear is the dusty old broom sweeping. The children are asleep so make sure the floor boards don’t creek.
And the parents settle down to drink old wine that tastes very cheap.

Back in 2017, we were already looking backscrolling through yesterday like it was ancient history.
Filters tried to bottle moments before they slipped, as if we knew they’d matter more later. We missed things while they were still happening, called it “throwback” before it had time to age, turning ordinary days into instant memories, softened before they could even fade. Even then, the present felt like a past in disguise2017, nostalgic for itself, a year quietly whispering, “you’ll miss this,” while we lived it.

SOMETHING THAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT MY YEAR (year 8) is that we have the funniest people you will ever meet. The thing that is important to me is my family and friends because they have done a lot for me.
One thing that I would like to say to leaders is to mind their own business and for them to fix homelessness with money. If someone were to pick up my zine I would like them to know to know that you don’t need to be embarrassed about the things you watch (don't take this out of context).
My year is very special because everyone has their own personality and their own characteristics and interests.
What makes this school so special is our head of years, Ms Ferdinand (pastoral manager) and Mr Lasisi (head of year), as they are always here for emotional support whenever someones need it. Also whenever someone is feeling under the weather they are here to come and help you with food and drinks.

“No I’m Not A Human” developed by Trioskaz, released September 2025, is a first person survival based horror game revolving around guests visiting your home during an apocalyptic world - the sun burning up and completely destroying earth, making it only inhabitable at night. In short, some people that visit you are monstrous beings but disguise themselves as humans in order to kill others.
You are tasked to give shelter to humans and if you let a monster in, you must kill them based on their appearance and traits shown. “No I’m Not A Human” takes themes of discrimination and puts them into extreme life or death circumstances.

As part of this project a selective group of Year 9 students were taken to the Southbank Centre where we were exposed to the “Thrilling Hodgepodge”. Natural Wildlife in Bermondsey
Foxes have become very bold and large due to them thriving on the available food waste. Residents are very likely to hear their high pitched cries at night during autumn and winter. They are commonly viewed in green spaces and residential areas such as Rotherhithe and Bermondsey.
Pigeons are one of the first domestic birds and were once used as messengers as they are capable of flying up to 90 mph. There is an estimate of nearly 3 million pigeons in London which is why they are the most well known wildlife. They sunbathe by laying on their side with one wing up to regulate temperature.

We are an all-girls school, called St. Ursula’s. Our zine explores what it is like to be a young person living in Britain, whilst reflecting through different time eras. We were inspired by Southbank’s 75th anniversary to contemplate how we might be remembered in 75 years. We’re looking at what it’s like to live in London, as well as the music and fashion that inspires us. We’ve combined our varied life experiences to create this zine, each page is individual to each artist. We hope you feel inspired when you finish browsing this zine and think about how you can express yourself through physical art.

Growing Up Black in London
Being a Black girl in London means growing up fast in ways no one really explains. It’s walking through a city full of culture, music, and history that reflects you, while still feeling like you have to prove yourself in spaces that don’t.
It’s pride and pressure at the same time. Pride in your roots, your style, your voice. Pressure to be twice as good, twice as strong, and still somehow not “too much”. You learn early how you’re seen and then spend time deciding who you actually are beyond that.
But there’s power in that awareness. In knowing your worth before the world tries to define it for you. In finding your people, your confidence, your identity, on your own terms.
Growing up like this isn’t always easy. But it builds something strong, something unshakeable. And at 14, that’s just the beginning.

“You only live once”. It’s a phrase that gets thrown around a lot, usually to justify doing something reckless, impulsive, or just plain chaotic. But for me, Gemma, a 14-year-old with bigger dreams than fitting into a box, YOLO can mean something deeper than just breaking rules for the sake of it.
At this age, it feels like the world is already trying to map your life out for you. Go to school, get good grades, follow the system, get a stable job. For some people, that path works. But for others, the ones with ideas that don’t fit into a timetable, the ones who think creatively, who want more, YOLO isn’t about being careless. It’s about refusing to shrink yourself just to meet expectations.
There’s a difference between living freely and living recklessly. Wanting more than a 9–5 doesn’t mean ignoring everything around you or pushing away the people trying to guide you. It means questioning, exploring, and figuring out what actually matters to you. It means using your time now and not wasting it.
Teenage years aren’t just a waiting room for adulthood. They’re where you start discovering who you are. That might mean trying new things, speaking up more, creating something, or chasing an idea that no one else fully understands yet. It might also mean making mistakes but learning from them, not just repeating them for the thrill.
There’s a common idea that “living your teen years” has to involve breaking rules or going against your parents. But real independence isn’t about rebellion for the sake of it. It’s about making choices that move you forward, not ones that set you back. Sometimes the strongest move is knowing when to listen, when to question, and when to stand your ground respectfully.
YOLO, if you really think about it, is limited time. And limited time is valuable. So instead of using it as an excuse to do anything, it can be a reason to do something meaningful. Build skills. Start something small. Express yourself. Take opportunities seriously, even if they’re not the “expected” ones.
Wanting a different future is valid. Thinking bigger is valid. But the way you get there matters.
So yeah - YOLO. Not as an excuse, but as a reminder: your life is yours, and what you do with it now shapes everything that comes next.

We learn early the world wont fight for you. In schools, in courts, hospitals too. Their pale skin opens doors with ease, whilst mine is blocked, ignored, never appeased. I don't remember anyone being illegal on stolen land. And honestly, a museum without stolen artefacts, tragic, unfortunate, maybe even bland. Keeping our history alive, it’s vital, it’s necessary, it’s crucial.
But i guess that can’t happen without a white mans stamp of approval.

What’s the Britain you would like to grow up into?
London in the 1990s was a dynamic, transitional city that blended traditional charm with rising modern ambition, defined by the explosion of Britpop, rave culture, and the rapid, gritty, gentrification of areas like Shoreditch and Docklands. It was a pre-smartphone era marked by affordable housing, iconic 90s fashion, and the lingering threat of IRA activity, shifting from a 1980s recession into a vibrant "Cool Britannia" scene.
So tell me why, in our modern London, University fees are raised, our NHS standard decreased, the environment is dying and discrimination and hate has sky rocketed. It seems to me that instead of moving forwards, we’re falling five thousand miles behind.

At first things still seemed hopeful under Tony Blair but after the September ‘11 attacks everything changed and the country got more serious and worried about safety and war. When Britain joined the Iraq war lots of people disagreed and it caused big protests at home. Some people were getting richer and spending loads of money but then the 2008 financial crash hit and suddenly things did not feel so stable anymore. So even though the 2000s had exciting moments, they also felt more tense and uncertain like Britain was not as carefree as it used to be...

MAN KILLS TREE WITH DEER
A man named Ashen Gorent is wanted for killing a tree with his pet deer.
Witness December Holiday, made a statement on this tragedy:
‘This person should not be considered a human. He deserves to rot and decay in prison.’
She had a repulsive gag upon hearing Ashen Gorent’s name again. She concluded by saying: ‘This man should suffer like that poor tree for eternity.’
Police reports communicate that the deer - Cervidae - was trained to commit such a vile act. The tree was stated to have 96 clear hits and 444 alleged hits from the antlered creature. The deer, unharmed, is in a safe environment for the time being, until it is able to be released in a nearby forest.
Ashen Gorent is in Duds federal institution - we managed to get a long statement from him:
‘I believe that what I did is understandable and the justice system is corrupt. I hope that people will see my story and corruption will be vaporised by our community!’
