For your entertainment, we invite you to relax with a game of chess or a board game with your loved one in our library, located in the Heritage Wing.
Guests are also welcome to enjoy our billiards table in the Billiard Room, conveniently located adjacent the Arthur Waterhouse Lounge.
Should you wish to play a match of tennis, racquets are available from Reception.
AFTER HOURS ENTRY
The external doors of Mount Lofty House are locked from 10:30pm until 6:30am every day. If you return to the house outside of these hours, kindly use the guest phone located at the Main or Piccadilly Entrances, to contact our Night Manager, who will be pleased to welcome you back.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast is served in Piccadilly Panorama, located in the Piccadilly Wing. The restaurant serves a la carte breakfast from 7:30am until 10am with hot dishes and continental breakfast options available. If you require breakfast before 7am please notify our reception team the night prior and we can arrange a takeaway breakfast.
A selection of complimentary newspapers will be available from 7am on weekdays and 8am on weekends and on Public Holidays, in Piccadilly Panorama.
CONFERENCE & EVENT FACILITIES
We have a dedicated Conference and Events team that would be delighted to assist in creating an event tailored to your individual needs. From intimate boardrooms to the stunning, fully enclosed and air-conditioned Piccadilly Pavilion, we offer a diverse range of function spaces alongside state-of-the-art conference facilities.

In the event of an emergency, dial 000. Remember to dial ‘0’ for an outside line first. Alternatively, dial ‘9’ for assistance from our team. Mount Lofty House is equipped with an Emergency Response Plan, as well as an AED and Epi Pen for guest safety. The AED is located outside the breezeway entrance in the AED Cabinet.

ENVIRONMENT
At Mount Lofty House, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint through a range of sustainable initiatives. The entire property is supplied with natural spring water, without the addition of chemicals, allowing guests to experience and enjoy water in its natural form. Our kitchen proudly incorporates fresh produce and herbs sourced from our own gardens, while each department actively participates in recycling initiatives wherever possible as part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
GUEST AMENITIES
We have a selection of commonly forgotten essentials available for purchase. If you have forgotten something, please give reception a call by dialling '9' from your in-room telephone.
We are pleased to offer a range of Jurlique amenities for your enjoyment throughout your stay. Should you wish to purchase these products to take home, please speak with Reception.
Bathrobes and slippers are provided in your room wardrobe for your comfort. If you require an alternative robe size, our Reception team will be happy to assist.
Umbrellas are available in your wardrobe, as well as at the Piccadilly and Heritage entrances. We kindly ask that umbrellas are returned to their designated locations after use.
HOUSE WELCOME TOUR
Every evening, we warmly invite guests of Mount Lofty House to join us in the House Library at 4:30pm for our signature House Welcome and History tour, hosted by a member of our team. This special experience offers a wonderful opportunity to discover the rich history and heritage of the property, and we hope you can join us during your stay. No booking is required.
Your room will be serviced daily unless otherwise requested. For your privacy, ‘Do Not Disturb’ signs are located on the back of your room door. Please hang the sign on your door should you prefer not to be disturbed. Please note, if the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign remains displayed between 10am and 2pm, our housekeeping team will refrain from entering your room for servicing. Alternatively, you may choose to participate in our Hotel for Trees Program, by placing the door hanger on your door. Through this initiative, a tree will be planted in lieu of your daily room service.
INNKEEPERS ACT 1968
Under the Innkeepers Act 1968, an innkeeper may in certain circumstances be liable to make good any loss of or damage to a guest’s property even though it was not due to any fault of the innkeeper or any servant in the innkeeper’s employ.
The liability however:
“(d) extends only to the property of guests who have engaged sleeping accommodation at the inn;
(e) is limited to one hundred dollars any one guest except in the case of property which has been deposited, or offered for deposit, for safe custody;
(f) does not cover motor vehicles of any kind or any property left in them, or horses or other live animals
This notice does not constitute an admission either that the act applies to these premises or that liability there under attaches in any particular case.”

SECURITY
Rooms at Mount Lofty House are accessed via a key card through the keypad entry system.
Please note that key card doors lock automatically when closed, so please ensure a key is with you at all times. A staff member is on site 24 hours a day, if you require assistance at any time please dial ‘9’ from your in-room telephone.
All rooms are also equipped with a pin coded safe. Instructions for use are provided on the door of each safe. Should you require assistance in operating the safe, please contact reception.
SMOKING
Mount Lofty House is non-smoking property. Guests who wish to smoke are kindly asked to use the designated outdoor smoking area – please refer to the hotel map or contact Reception for directions. We ask that extreme caution is exercised with cigarette disposal, particularly during the fire danger season. Please note that evidence of smoking in guest rooms, or on balconies will incur a minimum cleaning charge of $250, which will be added to the final account to cover additional cleaning and any associated damage.
SWIMMING POOL
The swimming pool is available for your use between 7am and 9pm daily.
Pool towels are available in the cupboard located in the pool lounge. Please note that glass is not permitted in the pool area.
The pool is filled with natural spring water sourced from beneath Mount Lofty and is solar heated from October to April, maintaining an average temperature of approximately 22°C.
TENNIS COURT
A floodlit, all-weather tennis court is located near the lower car park on the Southern side of the property. Tennis racquets and balls are available upon request at Reception. Court bookings are not required.

WILDLIFE
Mount Lofty House is surrounded by abundant native wildlife, offering guests a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Adelaide Hills. Koalas have been seen looking into our windows or wandering along guest balconies. It is not uncommon to see a kangaroo, bandicoot or a snake during the warmer weather when walking around the grounds. Please do not approach these animals as they may be dangerous. If you do encounter a snake on the property, please notify Reception immediately. The gardens are also home to a variety of native birdlife, including sulphurcrested cockatoos soaring over the Piccadilly Valley.
From April to October millipedes are commonly seen in the region. These small, harmless insects will typically curl into a ball when disturbed. Should you wish to have any wildlife, insects or pests removed from your room, please contact Reception by dialling ‘9’ from your in-room telephone.
HARDY’S VERANDAH RESTAURANT
Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant is open for dinner service daily, offering a refined dining experience featuring a seasonal degustation menu.
On weekends, guests may also enjoy High Tea. Please note that bookings are essential for all dining experiences at HVR. Widely regarded as one of South Australia’s premier restaurants, we strongly recommend reserving in advance to avoid disappointment.
For pre dinner drinks, Hardy’s Bar is open daily from 3pm until late seven days a week.
MARTHA HARDY’S RESTAURANT
Martha Hardy’s Restaurant is open daily for dinner, offering a relaxed à la carte dining experience in the heart of Mount Lofty House. Guests can enjoy a seasonal menu with the choice of two or three courses, showcasing locally sourced produce and contemporary flavors in a warm and welcoming setting.

ARTHUR WATERHOUSE LOUNGE & TERRACE BAR
The Arthur Waterhouse Lounge offers a relaxed lounge bar experience with an extensive whisky selection, premium cigars, and casual dining available from 6:00pm until late, seven days a week.

BILLIARD ROOM

MOUNT LOFTY SUMMIT
The Mount Lofty Summit offers panoramic views across Adelaide and through to the coastline, and is located just a short drive along Mount Lofty Summit Road past the three television towers.
The Summit Visitor Information Centre is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Alternatively, guests may enjoy the scenic walk to the summit, located approximately 20 minutes from Mount Lofty House.
CLELAND WILDLIFE PARK
Cleland Wildlife Park offers guests the opportunity to experience Australia’s unique native wildlife, including close encounters with kangaroos, koalas, reptiles, and a wide range of native animals. Visitors can also enjoy interactive experiences such as animal feeding sessions and guided nocturnal walks.
Located just a short five-minute drive from Mount Lofty House, the park can be reached by turning right onto Mount Lofty Summit Road and following the signage.
Cleland Wildlife Park is open daily from 9:30am to 5:00pm, excluding Christmas Day and days of catastrophic fire danger.
