Thanks to the generosity of Fenway Sports Group Partner Steve Somers, the Foundation launched the Somers Scholarship Fund to annually recognize a female graduating from Malden High School It honors the legacy of Somers’ mother, Helen Manning, who earned her degree at Malden in 1946, was passionate about furthering her education, and had a deep passion for the Boston Red Sox.

Nominated for their sportsmanship and dedication, 48 players and 16 coaches were invited to play just like the Major Leaguers. Fanatics generously outfitted each team with Boston City Connect uniforms.
