For the 2023 golf season, we have decided to return to the season long match tournament for the Red Sky Cup. Members will sign up and we will seed all players from lowest to highest handicap index.
New this year, we will have our semi-final and final matches played on consecutive days for each bracket. Friday, August 18th, we will host all semi-final matches on the Fazio Course. Saturday, August 19th, we will host all 3 final matches on the Norman Course to determine our 3 champions.
Each round will have very strict deadlines, so please be considerate of each member and do your best to fairly schedule your match in the given timeframe. Any matches that aren’t completed by the deadline date will be determined by a coin flip.
Coin Flip: If your match isn’t completed by the deadline date a coin flip will be done to determine the match winner. These are strict deadline dates, no extensions will be given to anyone.

We are bringing back Nine and Dine’s for the 2023 golf season! For three dates this summer, we will host 9 holes of afternoon golf followed by a themed dinner for members and guests. This is a great way for people who don’t have time for all 18 holes and another excuse to show off Red Sky to some friends.
These events are on Thursdays with a 3:30 p.m. shotgun start. We will have 3 different themes for these events and the food will cater toward these themes.

Every Tuesday is our “Maintenance Day” where our crews can take care of the necessary details on the golf course. These days really help our team be able to put out the best product for you to play each day. Three times this summer we will host Shotgun Tuesday for members and guests to play a fun game and enjoy a fantastic dinner afterward.
On these 3 dates, we will start our shotgun at 1:00 p.m. and cocktails/dinner will be served after play if you choose to stay for dinner. Feel free to sign up with other members or treat some friends to an afternoon of golf and Red Sky dinner!

Format: Four members will be paired up with one of our Golf Professionals for a fun round of golf and lunch afterward. Each group will play a 2 net best ball of 5, as we enjoy the opening tournament of the 2023 season.
Our first tournament of the year begins with a fun time playing with our staff of golf professionals. Each group of members will get paired with one of our golf professionals for that round and help win you some early season money. This morning shotgun will be followed by a lunch where we all can come together and try to understand why we all enjoy this fun and challenging game.
This is probably no surprise, but this is our golf staff’s favorite event to run (and play). Hopefully we can all shake some winter rust off our golf game and make a few birdies for the group! Groups will be randomly paired with a golf professional, but feel free to sign up as a single or group of up to 4 members.

Beautiful golf, amazing food, unparalleled comradery, and a fun party just for Red Sky Members only. Pair up in teams of 2 for this fun 36-hole tournament where we crown the best male and female teammates in 2023.
For each 9-holes, we will have a fun format for your team to play in this event. Best ball, scramble, and modified alternate shot as we play the Fazio and Norman courses each day. Lunch will be available for all players after each day of play and we will all celebrate our winning teams during the Annual Summer Party and Member-Member Awards on Saturday night!

Format: 36 holes of stroke play with your spouse. 1 net best ball of the twosome for each round. All scores are converted to a modified stableford points system.
This long standing tournament is a great way for Red Sky couples to meet other couples and test your game against each other. Two days, two courses, 36 holes, and one trophy to crown our 2023 champions. Meeting other couples is a great way to build relationships and comradery that last a lifetime beyond Red Sky.
Ladies, let your husbands rake the bunkers for you as you show them who the best golfer in the family really is now. Gentlemen, be thankful and smile as your wife lets you play 2 days of golf in a row. Bragging rights and a beautiful trophy are at stake to be called the best golf couple at Red Sky. Couples who play together, stay together!
With the summer season in full force, we celebrate our nations holiday with a fun weekend of golf and a pool party! The time of the season, we have family and friends visiting us, so feel encouraged to bring them golfing or to the pool party.
All day on Sunday, July 2nd, we will have a game available for all members and guests to play, if they choose to. Additionally, we will have our family pool party on Monday, July 3rd, to celebrate the holiday with activities, food and drinks!
The details for the pool party will be announced at a later time but we look forward to a great day.

Format: Flag Game - Each golfer starts out with a designated number of strokes based on their handicap . Each golfer carries a flag with their name on it as they play and uses the flag to mark where their final shot landed on the course. The player that makes it through the course the farthest using their designated strokes wins.

The premier major tournament of the men’s golf season at Red Sky is the Trailblazer. Bring your favorite guest for the ultimate member-guest tournament in the Rockies! You won’t find a better place to spend 3 days full of golf, food, friends, and beautiful views.
We will seperate all teams into 12 flights with 6 teams in each flight. You will play each team in your flight for one 9-hole match. The best team from each flight will play in a 3-hole shootout to determine our final 3 teams. These 3 teams will battle for the overall title and be called our 2023 Trailblazer Champions.
Each match format will be fourball match play to accumulate as many points possible. The shootout format will be straight alternate shot with your partner over a 3-hole stretch. Sign-ups fill up quickly, so be ready to get into this full field of 72 teams!

The Juniper is the top ladies member-guest tournament in the Rocky Mountains. This fun and exciting tournament is a great way to show off our beautiful clubhouse and courses to your closest friend. Each year, we have a special theme for the tournament so players can enjoy, decorate, and dress in some fun and creative ways. This year, we will be celebrating the week of ladies golf with a western cowgirl theme.

In 2023, we have decided to bring along an extra member-guest tournament to showcase our beautiful club and membership. We will host this one day tournament for men to bring up to 3 guests. This is a great event for those members that can’t find enough time to play in a 3-day tournament.
Breakfast, golf, tee prizes, and lunch are all included in this event. Members are welcome to sign up with 1, 2 or 3 guests to host on the Norman course. A fun format with multiple ways to win some cash for your group will end with cocktails and more delicious food.

Last year, we combined two tournaments into one fun filled tournament and experience for our members and veterans. We crowned a ladies dominated team to be our 2022 Cohen Champions!
The Vail Veterans Program has been a staple in the Vail Valley for almost 20 years now! Last year was a great turnout and our veterans enjoyed playing our courses and with our membership. We look forward to hosting this fun event in 2023 and welcome back any members that wish to play with our military veterans.

The official Ryder Cup was started in 1927 and is a great team competition between the United States and Europe. At Red Sky, we have created two teams named after the two architects of our beautiful golf courses. Team Fazio, captained by Shaun Wright, will play against Team Norman, captained by Andrew Hedrick over 2 days and 36 holes of competition.
This event starts of with a fun pairings party on Thursday evening where both captains will darft players to each of their teams. We will have cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while we determine our two teams.
Once we have our two teams set, we will play one day of Fourball match play and another day of singles match play to determine our winning team in 2023!

Format: Football Themed! Each group will play a two net best ball of the foursome. There is a “Punt, Pass, or Kick” option for each player to utilize one time during the round.
The Couples Member-Guest means football season is back and fall is just around the corner. Each year, we celebrate the end of this tournament with a fun tailgate party as the college football season begins. Bring out your favorite couple to play a round of golf as the fall colors are starting to begin at this time.
This special event will close out the 2023 season for our golf tournaments at Red Sky. Hopefully, the Aspen trees will start to change colors as you make the turn to the beautiful back nine of our Fazio golf course. Let’s end the 2023 golf season crowning a pair of couples as our champions!
