I won’t beat around the bush; 2025 is flying by, and we have some pretty lofty goals for the year here at Red River.
As we kick off February, I’m excited to share some updates that reflect our commitment to connecting and supporting the communities we serve in North Dakota and Minnesota.
First, we’re thrilled to announce progress on broadband expansion in North Hawley and the near completion of the Wahpeton and Breckenridge fiber projects. These projects bring us closer to ensuring everyone can access reliable, high-speed internet, no matter where they live. Our sales team, customer experience team and technicians have been hard at work, and we look forward to welcoming even more households and businesses to our fiber network. Thank you for your patience and enthusiasm as we continue to grow.
Please mark your calendars for our Cooperatives Annual Meeting on April 3rd. This event is an excellent opportunity to connect with your neighbors, hear updates about the Cooperative, and provide input on our future. Watch for more details coming soon. We look forward to seeing you there!
Finally, I’m proud to share that applications are now open for our high school scholarship program. Investing in local students is an investment in the future of our communities, and we’re honored to support the next generation of leaders.
If you know a high school senior planning for college or trade school, encourage them to apply.
Thank you for being part of our Cooperative family. Together, we’re building stronger connections and stronger communities.

For many golf enthusiasts, the off-season means putting away the clubs. However, at Woods & Irons, the game never stops. Owned by Lester Gordon, this indoor golf simulator business located in Wahpeton, ND, provides year-round golfing with cutting-edge technology and a welcoming atmosphere. A fast and reliable internet connection is crucial—exactly what Red River Communications delivers.
A VISION FOR INDOOR GOLF
Gordon aimed to create a climate-controlled space for golfers to enjoy their sport regardless of the season. The venue offers access to over 1,000 golf courses, a virtual driving range, and several golf leagues, fostering friendly competition.
Woods & Irons also serves pizza and non-alcoholic refreshments for the whole family; adults can order drinks from the adjoining Driftwood Bar. Overall, this great new addition to the community has created a family-friendly atmosphere that provides a muchneeded entertainment option to the Twin Towns.
THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY
The technology behind the simulators at Woods & Irons makes for an immersive experience. Advanced tracking systems like the Uneekor Launcher make the gameplay feel much more realistic. Plus, the Square point-of-sale system makes managing reservations and customer payments easy. But with all this bandwidth-heavy technology, having a fast

BE THE BOSS OF YOUR HOME OFFICE
4 Tips for Optimizing Your Home Office for Remote Work
1.
LEVERAGE SMART TECH FOR EFFICIENCY
With remote work becoming a longterm reality for many, setting up a productive home office is essential. The right workspace setup can improve focus, efficiency, and overall work-life balance. Here are five tips to optimize your home office for peak performance.
Smart home devices can enhance productivity. A dualmonitor setup, smart assistants, and productivity apps can help streamline your workflow. Additionally, setting up automatic backups and cloud storage ensures your work is safe and accessible anytime.
4.
2.
PERSONALIZE YOUR SPACE
Your home office should be a place where you enjoy spending time. Adding fun and funky elements, like a nice plant or funny artwork, can make your workspace more inviting and boost creativity.
CREATE A DISTRACTION-FREE ENVIRONMENT
3.
Organize your space to minimize distractions. Use an ergonomic setup, noise-canceling headphones, and establish a “Do Not Disturb” signal to let family members or roommates know when you’re in focus mode.
UPGRADE YOUR WI-FI ROUTER & WI-FI
A quality router is essential to harness fiber’s full potential. Choose a model that supports Wi-Fi 6 to ensure the best wireless performance. Older routers can bottleneck fiber speeds, reducing efficiency in a home office setting. Red River Managed Wi-Fi includes a carrier-grade Gigaspire U6 router, the best on the market, plus when you upgrade to our Ultimate Wi-Fi, you get protection over your connected devices and parental controls, and additional network management tools.
