I have really enjoyed painting this collection for my Solo Show ‘Memories of the Cornish Landscape’. I decided that I simply wanted to paint some of my favourite places in Cornwall, views that are memorable whatever the weather or time of the year. A few years ago I was fortunate enough to walk the entire Cornish Coastal Path and this journey was filled with so many stunning views. Walking the North Coast the terrain was dramatic and challenging with steep cliffs and amazing skies. Padstow and Gwithian were two favourites, with Godrevy lighthouse and St Ives in the distance, sea pinks were in abundance. Down at the Lizard the scenery was breathtaking. Everywhere on my walk there were wild flowers such as foxgloves, bluebells and pink campions. Dried grasses and brilliant yellow gorse gave a wonderful autumnal tone to the landscape. So many good memories, it was truly a pleasure to return to these places for inspiration.
