Welcome To Our 2016 Of fering Thank-you for taking the time to have a look at our 2016 pen of bulls. Once again, this year we are offering our entire crop by private treaty, including a wide variety of red angus, black angus, and polled hereford bulls.

We have been enjoying another mild winter here, and it sure is nice to see cows out grazing stubble for an extended period throughout our fall. We have continued to expand the herd this past year, and we feel like we have gained considerable quality and value in our 2016 pen of bulls. We are about to calve out an exciting group of bred heifers, which we feel will carry the cowherd forth in form and function. With the number of bulls out of first-calf heifers, we are excited about a powerful group of young females coming up.

In the bull pen this spring you find a group of very quiet, hairy, easy fleshing animals. Everything that we feel doesn’t make the cut has been steered and what is left are individuals we are excited to see out working. We are happy to discuss calving ease and high performance prospects, and can show you every dam and walking sire on the farm.

The bulls were started late this fall on supplement pellet, in November.

Their ration is limited to 12 lbs per head per day and is pail fed along with hay and greenfeed. Our goal is to have them ready to breed cows with their overall size and condition, but to safely develop their testicles and their feet. These bulls were not creep fed and were weaned in November off of pastured females. The herd is run as a commercial herd, so as to have the cattle working as long and hard as possible to develop those calves.

We feel that the pen is stronger than last year, and we plan to keep making some progressive steps ahead in quality, functionality, and longetivity for every year to come. If you have any questions regarding the offering, please don’t hesitate to call us.

Real Life

Aside from the purebreds, we are currently running 150 commercial raised Hereford and Red Baldy females. We run all purebred bulls, Angus and Polled Herefords, with an aim to showcase the cross between our breeds. Apart from calving dates, our commercials and purebreds are ran as one herd.

The same pastures, the same feed, same record keeping details, and the same management. We compare our bull calves to our steers on an ongoing basis, and the heifers are all backgrounded together. By doing this we have discovered the number one tool to marketing the bulls; It’s the commercials. Our best purebred bull calves are rivaled every year by our F1 steers. The cross is truly better than both of it’s makers, which is what we expect every year of the cowherd. We only breed to bulls we feel will make the cow better, in the hopes that each heifer calf has the potential to be a replacement who out-performs and exceeds her dam. With conditions in mind, we aim to see a noticeable improvement on both the weights and quality of steer calves every single year.

With limited time and help, the females need to be fertile, quiet, easy keeping and hardy to have a place in the operation. The commercials are the backbone of the herd and are at the forefront of selection decisions in the bull pen.

Guarantee: We guarantee you a sound breeding bull, if he fails to be a satisfactory breeding bull we will replace him with a bull of equal value or credit towards the purchase of another bull. No refunds. Bulls are not guaranteed to freeze semen. If you have any problems with your purchase, contact us immediately.

Insurance: All bulls fed at Redline are at the risk of the purchasers and must be insured. For help to insure, contact us.

Liability: All visitors to Redline Livestock do so at their own risk. Neither owners, or anyone connected to Redline will assume responsibility, legal or otherwise, for damage of any kind.

Semen: Redline Livestock reserves the right to collect semen on any bull sold for In-herd use only. This will be done at the buyer’s convenience and the seller’s expense.

Certificate of Registry: A Certificate of Registry and transfer will take place for each registered animal after full payment has been made.
