First 5 Forever at the library
The first few years of a baby’s life are a wonderful time for growth, development and learning.
At Redland City Council Libraries, we know it’s never too early to enjoy reading with your baby. With more than a million new neural connections forming each second, your little one is always ready to learn1


Our First 5 Forever program creates experiences and opportunities that build strong emergent literacy foundations and life-long learning capabilities in all young children. We firmly believe that parents, caregivers and families are children’s first and most important educators.
Our programs strive to support and equip families with helpful key messages and fun tips,
First 5 Forever tip: Rhymes shmimes!
Make up silly or nonsense words that rhyme – for example, dolphin/molphin. Playing with words and manipulating sounds is a foundation of reading and writing. So have fun!
