CHUCK NORIS
Legendary Martial Arts Champion and Famous Actor, Died at 86
Chuck Norris was born, Carlos Ray Norris on March 10th, 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma.
To call Chuck Norris a legend is an understatement. He is the original Meme King, an action movie star for over 50 years and the celebrity face of the most successful Celebrity marketed infomercial product ever sold, The Total Gym, and a competitive Martial Artist of world renown.
Knowing that Chuck is the only man alive that can “beat up air,” “make a woman ‘calm down,’” “and “the only person that time waits for,” and a very public political speaker, World renowned martial artist, actor and spokesperson; it is hard to believe that as a child he was an introvert that was shy and non-athletic. Chuck Norris grew up in a broken home, his father had been a neighborhood alcoholic that brought shame to the family, and his parents divorced when he was 16 and in early adulthood his brother died in Vietnam at the young age of 27. Through all this adversity, Norris was able to turn his life into something of epic proportions. It can all be credited to his stint in the United States Air Force, even his name. He joined the USAF in 1958 at the age of 18 during the beginning of the Vietnam War. He was stationed in South Korea and served as an Air Policeman until 1962. It was here that a fellow airman told him that his name translated to Charles and began calling him Chuck, which he adopted as his moniker. It was during his time in South Korea that he found his true life’s passion and that is Martial Arts. He trained in Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate- which shares its roots with Shotokan and Okinawan Karate.) Being someone who was non-athletic in school, this became his sport of choice and he shined like the brightest star.
After discharge from the military in 1962, he continued his path in the martial arts world and eventually earned black belts in several disciplines including Tang Soo Do, Karate, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Taekwondo,
and his own martial art form called Chun
Do. These titles were not symbolic and were earned through years of hard work and dedication and the proof is in the fact that he was the Undefeated World Champion in Middleweight Karate for six full years from 1968 to 1974, and had a final professional fighting record of 183 wins, 10 losses and 2 draws.
And this included defeating another world class fighter, Joe Lewis, three times. His amazing fighting acumen
Kuk
is no surprise considering he trained with some of the best martial artists the world has ever known including Bruce Lee, kickboxing legend Benny “The Jet” Urquidez, Don “The Dragon” Wilson, and he trained BJJ with the creators of the form, the Gracie Family. Chuck Norris was beyond legendary when it came to Martial Arts. He was the literal “One Piece.” His winning streak, which began in late 1967, lead to the creation of his chain of Karate Schools that he ran while working for Northrup Grumman. He retired from fighting in 1974, undefeated, when his acting career took off.
Chuck Norris trained many famous celebrities in his karate schools, including Steve and Chad McQueen, Bob Barker, and Priscilla Presley. This close contact with celebrities helped him break into the acting scene, his first
uncredited role was as a bodyguard in The Wrecking Crew. But in 1972 he had his big break when he was asked by Bruce Lee, himself, to play the villain in his major movie The Way of the Dragon. The Film became Hong Kong’s highest grossing movie that year and was released internationally to critical acclaim grossing over $130 million worldwide which is the equivalent of $1.1 billion today. That is how big that first major role was. Soon after this his student and good friend, Steve McQueen, suggested he perfect his acting craft and take acting classes with MGM, which he did and then the floodgates opened. His next major role was also his final villain role in the film Yellow Faced Tiger. The next year, Norris was given his first starring role in Breaker!, Breaker!. After this, the rest is history; Chuck would go on to star and co-star in Dozens of movies and TV shows.
Continued on page 10
Continued from page 9
Some of the most memorable movies were the Delta Force series, Missing in Action series, Sidekicks, Hero and the Terror, and The Expendables 2. In television he often starred as himself in sitcoms , but his most iconic starring role and the one that led to him becoming the most famously memed celebrity of all time was Walker, Texas Ranger. Walker became a superhero of sorts in that in every episode he would defeat the bad guy regardless of size or skill, with a single sidekick or spinning back kick. He was the original One Punch Man, except it was a kick instead of a punch.
His meme stardom, something that, unlike many celebrities, he embraced rather than fought, was started in 2005 with the creation of Facts About Chuck Norris. The facts read along the lines of the “most interesting man in the world” combined with Saitama from one Punch Man and Dr. Phil all rolled into one. With his gruff voice and signature beard combined with his tough guy character personas and his real life status as a martial arts legend the memes spiraled out of control and basically made him the omni, alpha and omega in every possible imagined situation. Although
Vin Diesel was technically the first memed tough guy celebrity, Chuck Norris was memed weeks later and his status stuck, and to this day, even after his death, there are daily memes showing the most iconic characters from all of media bowing down to him as the G.O.A.T, including Bruce Lee, Goku, Superman, etc., etc. It wasn’t just acting and fighting that made him famous.

It wasn’t just acting and fighting that made him famous.
He was a very well read, well written, and wellspoken person. He was very outspoken politically, always speaking out in support of his Christian and Republican virtues, and calling out anyone who supported Liberal agendas, LGBTQ propaganda or who had the audacity to speak badly about President Bush or Trump. He was a true Republican patriot. He has published dozens of books, including Martial Arts books, self-help motivational books, political and Christian view books and even some Western fiction books. And to top off this legendary career he was also the most successful product spokesperson of all time with his infomercials on the Total Gym.
Total Gym grossed over $1 Billion in global sales. To put this into perspective, the George Forman Grill only grossed $200 million. And the only celebrity sponsored products that grossed more than Total Gym were Jordan Nikes and Beats by Dr. Dre, but that is because of the
type of products that they are and that they were mass commercialized and not sold direct by the sponsoring celebrity as a spokesperson via infomercials.
Chuck Norris was a legend in every sense of the word, even in the way he lived his life. Up until a few days before his passing he was still training and exercising with his sparring partner. Unfortunately, even though many people would have believed it to be impossible, Chuck Norris died on Thursday, March 19th, 2026 after experiencing an undisclosed medical Emergency while at his home with his family in Hawaii. Chuck Norris, you may be gone, but Legends never die. You will live on forever in the hearts and minds of your fans and family forever. Rest in Peace and try not to change too much when you take over as God up above.

PROTOJE
Enlists Shenseea For his new single “GODDESS”
Protoje, one of the most pivotal architects of modern reggae, has joined forces with dancehall superstar Shenseea for the first time on their captivating new single and video “Goddess,” an uplifting anthem celebrating love and the beauty, strength, and power of women.
Built around a smooth, soulful groove, “Goddess” finds Protoje delivering a heartfelt tribute to the queens in his life — praising their depth, talents, and intricacies — while Shenseea adds a radiant vocal performance that brings a fresh dynamic to the track. The collaboration highlights a softness and beautiful sonic space for both artists.
“Shenseea was the perfect duet choice for Goddess, as she completely embodies the song’s energy,” says Protoje. “When she heard the vibe, it was an immediate fit. I’m very interested in hearing her in this light as it’s a very different vibe. She absolutely nailed it. Expect this to be an anthem for all the Goddesses out there.”
For Shenseea, the collaboration felt like a natural creative alignment. “Working with Protoje on this record was a special experience,” she says. “He’s someone who has always represented authenticity in reggae and Jamaican music, so coming together creatively felt very natural. The song has a smooth, soulful energy, and the video really brings that feeling to life.”
Directed by SAMO, the video finds the artists immersed in Jamaica’s natural settings, sharing relaxed and intimate moments that reflect the song’s grounding and celebratory spirit.
“Goddess” appears on Protoje’s upcoming seventh studio album The Art of Acceptance, arriving April 17, 2026 via In.Digg.Nation Collective / Ineffable Records. Prior to “Goddess,” Protoje revealed the singles “At We Feet” ft. Damian Marley, “BIG 45” and “Feel It” from the forthcoming album.
In support of The Art of Acceptance, Protoje gears up for an extensive 45+ city Spring 2026 Tour across Europe, the UK, and North America, including solo headlining dates and U.S. festival appearances at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Austin Reggae Festival, and Reggae Rise Up. The run follows the latest staging of his Lost In Time Festival 2026 in Kingston—a two-day cultural event and concert featuring Jamaica’s leading and rising talent that he founded with his sister LeAnn Ollivierre. The festival drew more than 16,000 attendees and a portion of proceeds supports hurricane relief efforts in his hometown of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica through the Lost In Time Foundation & American Friends of Jamaica.

BONAFIDE BAND
Steps Into R&B Territory with New Single “What’s Happening Here?”
Jamaican group Bonafide Band unveils a new creative chapter with the release of their latest single, “What’s Happening Here”, on all digital platforms via Broadyard Records.
Known for their roots-driven reggae sound, Bonafide Band makes a deliberate and refreshing stylistic shift on this release, embracing a smooth, contemporary R&B aesthetic. The track trades traditional reggae rhythms for soulful melodies, restrained instrumentation, and an intimate vocal delivery that highlights a different dimension of the band’s artistry. While reggae remains part of their musical foundation, “What’s Happening Here” signals a confident step into crossover territory.
Produced by Ricky Dread, the single pairs its
polished R&B soundscape with a message that feels especially timely. Lyrically, the song reflects on the growing lack of love, empathy, and unity in today’s world, themes inspired by recent events in the United States and beyond. It looks back at a time when communities supported one another and contrasts that with the emotional distance and division that many are experiencing now.
By presenting this message through an R&B lens, Bonafide Band allows the song’s reflection to land more personally and emotionally. The result is a record that feels both socially aware and sonically accessible, bridging genres while staying true to the band’s commitment to meaningful storytelling.

AT THE HEART OF THE MATTER
ello again RED INK foodies! In this issue we hope you enjoy our wonderful recipe selection for this month. We are always happy to share with our readers a fun recipe for you to try. Enjoy!
RECIPE:
Sheet Pan Caprese Chicken
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of oil onto a rimmed baking sheet and use your fingers to evenly spread it out and coat the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon salt and a few grinds of pepper. Scatter the cherry tomatoes on the baking sheet and shake it back and forth so they become evenly coated in the oil and seasoning. Arrange the chicken in the center of the baking sheet, pushing the tomatoes out to the perimeter, and drizzle the chicken with the remaining tablespoon of oil.
Step 2
Bake until the tomatoes are soft, blistered and begin to burst, 20 to 25 minutes.
Step 3
Meanwhile, add the vinegar to a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Lower the heat to medium and simmer until the vinegar has reduced by half and is thick enough to coat back of the spoon, 7 to 8 minutes.
Step 4
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and drape a slice of mozzarella over each chicken breast. Bake until the cheese melts and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast has reached 160 degrees F, 5 to 7 minutes (the chicken will carryover cook to 165 F).
Step 5
5. Sprinkle the chicken and tomatoes with the basil and drizzle with the balsamic reduction. Spoon the collected pan juices over the tomatoes and chicken. Serve on a bed of arugula and with crusty bread to mop up the pan juices.
Enjoy!

Aries will sparkle thanks to new energy in April. With the arrival of spring, you will feel a high dose of motivation to exercise, and thanks to your strong will, which you will definitely not lack during this period, you will feel great changes in a moment.
April will bring a lot of energy to Taurus. This spring month will be mostly focused on relationships. Deep contemplation and reflection of things will not be on the agenda. You will be more spontaneous, so do not be afraid to take full advantage of every opportunity, but a certain amount of prudence would be appropriate.
April will be a wild month. Gemini’s moods will change like on a roller coaster, and the need to always have the last word will strengthen. However, this approach can drive away your friends, and they will want to keep their distance from you. So you shouldn't cling to your truth so much, so you don't unnecessarily argue with someone you really care about.
April awakens strong emotions in Cancer, which this sign will not be able to control at the beginning. You can expect an uncontrolled outburst of emotions that can cause significant problems in both personal and professional life. Your behaviour will be mostly impulsive, so during this period, try to focus on inner peace and try to think things through before you say something.
April awakens in Leo sexual energy and unbridled appetite. All the topics that were taboo for you will now open up, and you will start to discover new areas of sexuality. Plan a whole weekend with your partner just for yourselves so that you can enjoy intimate moments without disturbing the tranquillity.
In April, Virgo will feel the need for tenderness and love. You will literally crave a hug from someone close, and you will not be able to get enough physical contact. But during this period, you will start to cling to many things and want everything right away, which will keep you in constant tension.
April will bring Libra a significant improvement in communication skills. You will use it the most in your work, where you will finally gather courage, stand out from the crowd and dictate your conditions. At the same time, you will be motivated to study a foreign language, in which you will excel, and you will start looking for opportunities where you can communicate with native speakers.
April will bring Scorpios some emotional instability and an excess of energy. Your moods will be changing, and even minor things might throw you off balance. Therefore, it is advisable that you learn how to work with your emotions because otherwise, your changing moods could discourage your friends and family from spending time with you.
In April, Sagittarians will be in tune with their parental instincts, which will be quite strong this month. So if you have children then take them on a trip maybe to some waterpark or a similar place and let your partner enjoy some free time, maybe he can go out with his friends.
April will bring strong motivation to work and a desire for high earnings to Capricorns. You will be able to put a maximum of your energy to work, so that you will spend days and nights there. Forgetting work will be challenging for Capricorns in April. Your life will be all about work, and whether you enjoy it or not, you will not be able to stop thinking about your duties even at home.
Aquarians will not stop at all in April because they will become go-getters, and they will be very determined and even harsh when following their goals. You will be doing better than your boss would expect, and he/she will be amazed by your achievements. Your self-esteem will grow, and you will become a centre of attention.
April will be the month when Pisces will feel a desire for knowledge and studying. Your memory will be able to absorb an incredible amount of information; even you will be surprised by that. So you have a unique chance to start studying something that you have been thinking about for quite some time because now it is a time to overcome challenges.
