THE DAY PLAYERS
Live Music from Soap Opera Leading Men “Days Of Our Lives”
The Day Players, a cover band providing “Live Music From Soaps Leading Men,” is on a nationwide tour as we speak. Naz and her husband from Red Ink Magazine had the pleasure of enjoying the show, both as press and fan, when it came to The Historic Ritz Theatre in Winter Haven, FL. The show was fantastic, and the band provided incredibly well done covers of Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin, several other country and classic rock songs and even an amazing male rendition of Let It Go. The band is truly a showcase of talent, not only are soaps leading men great actors, but they are fantastic singers with accomplished music careers under their belts as well. Speaking of under their belts… With all the gyrating on the stage and the loud and sometimes over the top coo’s and screams from the women in the sold out theater it is safe to say that many of the fans in attendance were there to enjoy the beefcake as much as they were there to enjoy the serenading. Red Ink Owner and Publisher Naz was no exception, since she is also a huge longtime fan of “Days of our Lives’ and was clearly excited and entertained by the sights and sounds before her. However, I will say that the band overall put on an incredible show full of the perfect mix of musical talent and comedic interactions between themselves and the audience, and with that being said, the husbands that were in attendance enjoyed the show just as much as their drooling wives.
The Day Players are made up of four of the biggest names in Soap Opera’s today with three members from Days of Our Lives and one from General Hospital. There is Eric Martsolf who plays the hunk playboy on Day of Our Lives, Brady Black, and then Carson Boatman, also from Days who plays Johnny DiMera, Brandon Barash who plays Stefan DiMera in Days of Our Lives, and the fourth was Scott Reeves who plays Dr. Steven Webber on General Hospital. Scott was actually filling in as a member for this tour because long time member and fellow Days alum, Wally Kurth is taking a break to spend more time with his family, but will
be back on future tours.
The band has an amazing way of harmonizing together and often switches between singers stanza by stanza making sure every singer is a lead in every song. The only exceptions to this are when some of the members perform songs from their own personal albums and Spotify accounts. One shining example of this was Carson Boatman, singing his original song, Ava’s Song, which may be the best Daddy- Daughter song ever written. All in all the Day Players know how to put on a great show, and if you are lucky enough to find tickets still available when they come to your town, make sure to snatch them up. You will not be disappointed. Their tour schedule has them coming soon to Tacoma, WA, Sacramento, CA, Levitown, NY, New Brunswick, NJ, Boston, MA, Albany, NY, Portstown, PA, Timonium, MD, and Richmond, VA. Find tour and ticket sale information at https://www.thedayplayersband.com/tour and make sure to tell them Naz at Red Ink Magazine sent you. By Michael Devine u

VALENTINO GARAVANI
Legendary Italian Fashion Designer, died at 93
Valentino was born as Valentino
Clemente
Ludovico Garavani on May 11th, 1932 in Voghera, Italy. He is considered one of, if not the most iconic fashion designers of all time. There was not a red carpet in the last five decades that didn’t feature an legendary actress in one of his original pieces. Valentino was simply born to design fashions and create trends. At an early age he began apprenticing in the fashion industry as a child and then as he got a little older he left Italy and went to study in what was then the fashion capital of the world, Paris.
After studying at the prestigious Beaux-Arts de Paris and the École de la Chambre Syndicale he went on to begin his career working for the OG industry titans of the early 1900s, Jean Dessès and Guy Laroche and later he worked with Balenciaga, Dior, Emilio Schuberth and Vincenzo Ferdinandi.
After spending a decade working for the biggest names of fashion of the early 1900s, he went on to open his own fashion house “Valentino” in 1960. And the was welcomed to the industry with immediate success and with the help of his business Partner
Giancarlo Giammetti and his father, he became a juggernaut and titan of the industry almost overnight.
His first show, flew in the most famous and beautiful models from Paris and he dressed them in what became his signature color Rosso Valentino or Valentino Red, and he truly stole the show. The world loved the vibrant colors and sexy designs. His high fashion dresses became the dress for women of celebrity and royalty alike.
But like every story the incredible reception had a small hiccup. The grandiose styles and shows that Valentino put on during his first year, and what garnered him immediate fame, also turned out to be a little too expensive for his father and some of his partners to support, and it was the support and love of his business and life partner Giancarlo Giammetti that helped him through the initial financial crunch. And although, for one year it seemed like Valentino might pass like a bright shooting star, together they weathered the storm and over the next two years an empire sprouted from the flames and became the icon we all know today. However some luck played into the success as well and the single most important event occurred right after John F Kennedy’s assassination. Jacqueline Kennedy had seen and loved his designed and ordered a set of gowns that she wore for all public appearances during her mourning period and then had him design her wedding dress when she remarried and became an Onassis and with Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis being one of the
most forward facing and popular first ladies in U.S history and constantly in the media, her fashion became quite a hot topic and celebrities and royalty around the globe began to jump on the bandwagon and money would never be a concern again as the empire grew into a mega empire that was generating $1.7 Billion a year at its peak of marketing in 2024, even though Valentino himself had retired and fully sold the company by 2008 the brand continued to live on and strive. Valentino himself built a net worth of over $1.5 Billion which included a collection of incredible assets like; a 17th-century chateau near Paris, a villa in Rome, a London mansion, a Manhattan penthouse, and a 152-foot yacht. Continues on page 10
Continued from page 9
But aside from the exposure his brand got from Presidential and Royal connections, the true marketing growth came from wise business partnerships and leveraging the impact that celebrities have on pop culture and fashion. He was frequently seen with the leading ladies of our time, both as their friend and their designer, like Gwyneth Paltrow, Elizabeth Hurley, Jennifer Lopez, Anne Hathoway, Julia Roberts, Elizabeth Taylor and that is just a small sample. Pretty much any beautiful leading lady you can think of has worn or wanted to wear a Valentino dress on the Red Carpet at some point in their career.
But one thing remained constant forever in his designs and that was the focus on creating outfits
that were over the top, and opulent in every meaning of the word. They represented the height of grand fashion and his retro designs stood the test of time. Countless films and movies have featured his elegant designs. Valentino was widely recognized as the greatest and most prominent fashion designer that ever lived.
Valentino, died on January 19th, 2026 at the age of 93, from natural causes in his home surrounded by loved ones. He lived an incredible life that truly left his mark on history and he died in quite possibly the best way anyone could ever desire. He may be gone but his legacy will live on forever on red carpets and runways all over the world. Rest in peace. By Michael Devine u
CATHERINE O’HARA
Canadian Actress of ‘Home Alone’ , ‘Schitt’s Creek’ & ‘Beetlejuice’, died at 71
Catherine Anne O’Hara was born on March 4th, 1954 in Toronto, Canada. Catherine loved comedy and after High School she began working as a waitress at a famous comedy theater, known for its improv troupe, called Second City Theater. After auditioning twice she was added to the roster of improv comedians and this is where she got her start in acting. She began as an alternate and understudy for the great Gilda Radner. Eventually Second City was given its own TV slot in 1976 called SCTV. She loved working with Second City as they were her first however the show hopped between networks and had large off periods. In 1981 she was invited to join the cast of Saturday Night Live, and at first accepted and then rejected the offer when SCTV became syndicated on NBC and she initially chose loyalty over stardom. Unfortunately, that choice got her partially blacklisted in Hollywood and labeled as an actress that doesn’t really want to work who snubs great roles. She was able to get passed this roadblock but was always known to be very selective of her roles, and although difficult, after her first big role in the movie Double Negative where she acted alongside comedy legends Joe Flaherty and John Candy, things really opened up for her and her selective nature made sure that she only
had successful roles.
O’Hara would go on to become a household name and nationally recognized comedy legend in her own right after having starring and co-starring roles in Home Alone, Beetlejuice, Best In Show, After Hours, Heartburn, Dick Tracy, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events and dozens of others. She also had roles in some of the biggest shows on TV like Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Larry Sanders Show, Tales From the Crypt, The Outer Limits, Modern Family, and many others. Continues on page 14
Continued from page 12
She is most recently known for her role on The Last of Us where she played the therapist, and in her syndicated show Schitt’s Creek. Her talents also extended into animation with many voice acting roles over the years, including Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Tina in Chicken Little, Penny in Over The Hedge, Brooke Ripple in Elemental and most recently Pinktail in The Wild Robot; just to name a few. Catherine O’Hara, has had many memorable moments throughout her comedy acting career and she was legendary in her right. But her pivotal role was probably Mrs. Macalister in Home Alone.
In the eyes of critics, she was a superstar as much as her fans, winning many acclaimed awards. She was nominated for over 56 and won 38 including, two Primetime Emmy Awards, A Golden Globe and a Critics Choice
Award. She also has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.
Catherine O’Hara, was still at the height of her career with a recent nomination for another Golden Globe this past month. Unfortunately her life ended on January 30th, 2026 after a brief battle with an undisclosed illness which had put her in the hospital. For a long time she was living with a rare congenital heart defect that displaced her organs, called dextrocardia with situs inversus. It is unknown if this condition played a role in her demise. However, even with an untimely passing at the age of 71, she still left a legacy of comedy antics in movies, films, and television for generations to enjoy. Catherine, you will be missed dearly but never forgotten. May you rest in peace and continue sharing your comedy forever after. Rest in peace. By Michael Devine u

BA’MARAH
Delivers New Conscious Reggae Single “Servant of The Devil”
Ba’Marah continues his steady rise as a conscious voice in reggae with the release of his latest single, “Servant of the Devil,” available worldwide as of January 2, 2026 via Danger Zone Music Group. Produced by Tall King Productions, the track blends roots authenticity with contemporary relevance, offering a reflective message that speaks directly to today’s moral and spiritual crossroads.
Driven by Ba’Marah’s rustic, reassuring vocals and melodic delivery, Servant of the Devil is a song rooted in storytelling. Lyrically, it examines temptation, accountability, and the everyday struggles faced by people navigating a world filled with distractions and contradictions. Rather than preach, the song invites listeners to reflect, a hallmark of Ba’Marah’s growing catalog of culturally grounded work.
Formerly known as Brando McKoy, Ba’Marah draws deep inspiration from his uncle Winston Watson of The Meditations, a lineage that is clearly reflected in his approach to music. That heritage shines through not only in his vocal tone but in his commitment to conscious themes and relatable narratives.
Over time, Ba’Marah has been steadily winning over audiences with performances and recordings that feel honest and lived-in. His ability to translate real-life experiences into accessible stories has positioned him as an artist to watch within the modern roots reggae landscape, one who respects tradition while speaking directly to the present moment.
With Servant of the Devil, Ba’Marah reinforces his place as a cultural artist to be reckoned with, delivering music that resonates beyond the dancefloor and lingers long after the final note. By Jennifer Cheshire Reggaewerx PR LLC u

February awakens in Aries the ability to empathise with others, which creates a strong friendship with very interesting people. With some, you pass on your experiences to each other, which will move you a bit further in life, and maybe you will connect at work and embark on a joint project.
February will be a month full of work for Taurus. Your motivation to work will multiply, and work will become your main life activity in this period. Thanks to a high dose of determination to work, you will make high financial incomes, which you will like, and you will constantly move forward. However, be careful not to overwork; it could backfire on you in the form of a health problem.
February will be a gloomy time for Gemini. You will work hard, and then you will not have time for your hobbies and friends. This can affect your mental health, and you will want to shut yourself off from other people. This does not necessarily mean something bad; moments spent alone will give you the opportunity to clarify your feelings, but do not let a negative attitude towards life engulf you.
February will bring Cancer a certain amount of self-confidence, especially at work. You will no longer be afraid to say what you like and what you don't, thanks to which your superiors will start to perceive you as equal. During this period, you will surprise yourself with your creativity and fresh ideas at work and in your personal life.
In February, Leo will be very creative but at the same time more introverted. There will be some great ideas in your head that you will want to implement. However, you must take into account that something will have to be sacrificed. Therefore, this month you better think rationally and properly consider all the pros and cons before embarking on something.
February will awaken in Virgo the need to gain publicity and to be right about everything. If someone opposes you during this period, you can get into pointless conflicts. Persuasion will be your strong point, especially at work; but don't overdo it, it could have a negative impact on your working relationships.
In February, Libra will be overwhelmed with work duties. You will get a lot of tasks from your superior that you will not be able to do, which will cause you stress. Insomnia and headaches may also occur, which you should definitely not underestimate. This is a sign that you have to slow down and compensate for your work with some relaxing activity.
In February, communication and negotiation will be the strength of all Scorpios. You will use that mainly at work, where you will achieve some significant success. That will be connected to a good financial status and maybe a promotion at work. But do not let your success go to your head; it could trigger your colleagues and even make them your enemies.
February will bring a lot of inner strength and balance to Sagittarians, which they will need this month. It is because you will get into a situation when a close person will let you down, and you will have to deal with it even though it will hurt you.
In February, Capricorns will demonstrate amazing communication skills and empathy. In this time, lots of your friends will feel close to you, and they will tend to ask you for your advice, you will become a popular person among your friends. However, do not let the complaints and problems of others tire you.
February will be a month of love for Aquarians. Your feelings will be stronger, so you will experience every moment of your life way more intensively. So you can use this and devote some time and energy to your partner. Go for a long weekend together or a holiday, or just make a trip to some wellness retreat where you will feel as if you are in a paradise and you will fully enjoy intimate moments together.
February will be more of a calm month for Pisces. You should take care of your health because you will be prone to have problems with your airways. The best thing you can do is skip some fun evenings with your friends and improve your sleeping and eating habits.
