Artist, Singer-Songwriter & Producer

Son of a professional singer, Georgel Julio RosasReyes was born in the city of Monterrey and grew up surrounded by a wide range of musical influences. At the age of thirteen he began studying lyrical singing and musical theatre. Impressed with his talent, several teachers motivated him to seek new professional horizons in the United States. Georgel was only fifteen years old when a Fulbright scholarship allowed him to study singing and composition at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. It was there that he had the opportunity to share the stage with iconic voices such as Rubén Blades, Juan Luis Guerra, Gloria Estefan and Paul Simon. His natural talent for hit songwriting did not go unnoticed by Sony Latin executives. His first album -No Inventes -was released in 2014, and the single "Sin Vergüenza" gained popularity by being included in Televisa's Dos Hogares series. Gifted with a keen sensitivity and always willing to expand his horizons as a human being and composer, Georgel settled on the outskirts of Sequoia National Park in 2018, an environment noted for its mystical climate and natural beauty. These new landscapes -in addition to a weakness for the classic sounds of Soul music from the 1960s and 1970s -inspired him to create songs of unusual depth and lyricism such as "Meteorito” (Meteorite) and “Colibrí” (Hummingbird). Argentine producer Sebastian Krys -known for his work with Gloria Estefan, CarlosVives, Juanes and Elvis Costello -heard these songs and decided to collaborate with Georgel to record them. With the release of the single “Adrenalina", Mexican singersongwriter Georgel finds himself at the peak of maturity and inspiration, as well as reaffirming himself as a Latin R&B force, expanding his sonic horizons by venturing into a cosmopolitan fusion of Latin pop with hints of electronica and hiphop. “Adrenalina”, with its futuristic video in collaboration with rising start and Colombian rapper Nanpa Básico, clearly demonstrates that Georgel continues to develop his particular style of R&B while blending it with other genres. Georgel releases his new single “Casa" along with his first EP, "Claro". After a couple of collaborations of writing and producing together, Juan Pablo Vega (producer of the track) and Georgel, created "Casa", the focus track of this EP, a brilliant sonic and lyrical graduation. Katzù Oso, who adds his voice to the song, injects it with the perfect dose of Chicano Soul, and listening to him with Georgel makes it truly feel like coming home. Georgel's new single consolidates the path he has taken over the last year with his past releases and solidifies his sound and style within the Latin R&B genre. "Casa" is accompanied by an official video shot between Morelos, Mexico and Los Angeles, U.S. This is the first music video from Andres Navarro, a Mexican artist who has made a name for himself as a photographer and has captured attention for his unique aesthetic which has led him to collaborate with artists like Bad Bunny. Georgel and Andres have created a very special artistic connection to form the visual concept of this EP, not only in the video for "Casa” but, also in the artwork for "Claro". “Claro”, the EP, represents a new chapter in the artist's career, which is conceptualized through sounds and lyrics that show an enlightened and soft side of his personality. The EP, in addition to the unreleased single "Casa", has tracks that were released in 2020: "Adrenalina" with Nanpa Básico, "Demasiado Bueno", "Míranos" with Monogem and "Demasiado Bueno 2.0" with Mabiland. It is a compilation of songs that fuses silky soul with retro-futuristic aspects that give sensibility to the new Spanish R&B scene, usually closer to trap and reggaeton. The name of his first EP is "Claro” and so is the message it conveys: "The resilience of the queer community and romantic nostalgia can live together in a song, in a love story.
