WE NEED YOUR VALUABLE FEEDBACK!
S U N D A Y S C H E D U L E S U R V E Y
As we continue to navigate our return to in-person ministries at Redeemer and we wrap up our academic-year church activities, we are collecting information from each household on your worship and faith formation experiences. We are looking specifically at those services and classes taking place on Sunday mornings to inform our decisions on the future. It’s easy to participate! Simply click the link below and spend 5 minutes or so answering a few survey questions about your Sunday experience. If your family attends in multiple “units” (such as for different children’s activities or more than one worship service), feel free to fill out a separate survey for each "unit" if that best reflects your family’s Sunday activity. We appreciate your valuable feedback! Please respond by June 17, although the survey will remain open after that date. Watch also for future announcements about listening posts on June 19 and June 26 with Worship and Faith Formation representatives so you can discuss this topic and the survey results! Click Here

Keystone Walking Tour of Redeemer’s Historic StainedGlass Windows On May 20th, Keystone Ministry hosted a special walking tour through our congregation's history, the symbolism in our church, and the meaning of the stained-glass windows. Led by lifelong Redeemer member and amateur historian Bob Gibeling, we learned about the stories behind the glass and worship elements, noticed the artistic beauty around us in our buildings, and heard about the faithful leaders and members who have dreamt, built, and sustained our worship space throughout the years
CONGREGATIONAL CARE
Welcoming New Members to Redeemer This spring Kathie Arvo-MacKenzie, Ehab, Sarah, Mady and Luke Kader, Renee, Stephan, Pierce, and Maxwell Koenig, Leslie Lyjak, Jorge Luzar, Karis Ostrander, Curt Stamp, and Lisa Stanley participated in Redeemer’s New Member Class. Over four weeks, they learned about Redeemer’s mission throughout the years, our Lutheran faith and worship, and served alongside one another. On May 22, 2022 they made public affirmation of their baptism and become full voting members of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Get to know them through their bios below and reach out to them through our online directory, Realm, to welcome them into our church.
Kathie Arvo-MacKenzie I moved from Massachusetts to Atlanta in June of 2020 to be closer to family and escape the snow and cold winter weather. I was raised as a Lutheran first at St Paul’s and Emanuel Lutheran Church in Fitchburg Massachusetts. Most recently I was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester Mass. I was a member of the church choir and taught Sunday School for many years when my children were younger. I have four adult children and eight grandchildren. I attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston and worked as a pharmacist in multiple practice settings including hospital, long term care, community practice, and home care. Currently I am employed by Georgia Cancer Specialists as an oncology pharmacist. In my free time I enjoy running, singing, reading, traveling and babysitting. I look forward to participating in the life of Redeemer Lutheran Church..
Leigh Lyjak I come to Redeemer from Holy Trinity in Marietta, Georgia. My husband Ben Moravitz is a member of Redeemer.I am a retired teacher. We live in Marietta (part of the time) and enjoy traveling and camping, spending time at our condo in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and hanging out with family and friends. I look forward to worshipping at Redeemer.
CONGREGATIONAL CARE
Kader Family Mady, Sarah, Ehab, and Luke Ehab and Sarah moved from Edina, Minnesota to Marietta almost five years ago. The feeling of home and reminders of their congregation back in Minnesota have always brought them back to Redeemer. They are excited to officially be members of the church. Ehab works for Equifax as the Senior Director of Compliance, and Sarah works for Sherwin Williams as an IT Manager in Global Supply Chain Support. Ehab and Sarah have 13-year-old twins named Madelynn (Mady) and Luke. They will be rising 8th graders at Simpson Middle School in Marietta. They are both involved in Simpson Concert and Jazz Bands. Mady plays the flute and Luke plays the trumpet. Concerts are held nightly in the neighborhood cul-de-sac. When they are not playing their instruments they both love to golf, swim, and have fun. As a family we enjoy traveling, hiking around the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, checking out new restaurants, and riding bikes on the Noonday trail.
Curt Stamp Moved here in July 2021 from Fayetteville, AR. I’m originally from Iowa. I’m Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Cox Communications. I enjoy running, biking, exploring the beauty of North Georgia, am an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan, and travel. Redeemer’s commitment to inclusion and to serving the greater community, especially those who need it the most, really drew me to Redeemer.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Ministries Partner to Bring Summer Reading to Wellspring Living Girls
The Redeemer Library Committee have, once again, partnered to give the girls of Wellspring Living specially requested books for their library. When Mary Mahoney discovered that one of the girls is a budding poet, she gave her a book of poetry from her own collection. In addition, she sent the girls her recently authored book, Gimme Shelter: True Cat Stories of Abandonment, Rescue, and Love for their library. The Library Committee reached out to Amy Carpenter to obtain a list from the Wellspring girls of their favorite authors. The girls responded with one specific title and a list of additional authors. The Library Committee met the girls’ special request with a personal copy of, Where the Crawdads Sing, and then carefully researched the list of authors to provide a good variety of reading material. The result is a donation of 11 books for the girls! The timing is perfect for summer reading! Thank you Mary Mahoney and the Redeemer Library Committee! Redeeming Grace: amy.carpenter@comcast.net Wellspring Living’s Girls Residential Program (ages 12-17) provides trauma-informed care to survivors of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking in the service of physical, emotional, and spiritual restoration.
