REDDING RANCHERIA PAYS FOR SCHOOL LUNCHES REDDING RANCHERIA Tribal Chairman, Jack Potter Jr. of Redding Rancheria received a call from Gail, Pacheco School’s dedicated lunch gal, who asked for the Tribe’s help in covering the outstanding balance of $582.19 for student lunches. Gail explained how parents who have lost their jobs were not able to work due to Covid-19, and therefore struggle to pay the cost of their children’s meals. The Redding Rancheria presented a check to the Pacheco Unified School District for the total amount requested, because family and community are the core of the Tribe’s mission. We are grateful for the staff at Pacheco School for reaching out and allowing us to help cover the costs of their students’ lunches! Gail, you are truly appreciated!

THE CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE: WIN-RIVER RESORT AND CASINO IS THE FIRST TO RE-OPEN REDDING RANCHERIA

Tribal Chairman Jack Potter Jr. is proud to address Win-River Resort and Casino in taking the lead for re-opening the state of California and Indian Country.

“We are the first tribe to open up in California so we’re setting that example, and we are leading the way in Indian Country. I’ve received calls from many chairmen across California saying ‘thank you, Chaiman, for taking that step, and for your tribe to lead the way. You’re setting the example for all of Indian Country. You’ve opened Indian Country back up, and we appreciate that.’”

With the global pandemic in mind, Redding Rancheria sought council with our local health officials to provide and create cautionary measures for our patrons. Many changes have been implemented to facilitate safety and the well-being for our customers.

A LETTER FROM GARY HAYWARD REDDING RANCHERIA

Words cannot begin to express the feeling of knowing we are welcoming our tribal members,

team members and guests back. I know this has been such a difficult time for so many in our

community, and my thoughts have been with all of you. I know our guests come to Win-River for a variety of reasons, whether itʼs to celebrate, or maybe for a getaway from the challenges life

can bring. For whatever reason you choose us, weʼre grateful to you, and we understand thereʼs

a chance for us to do something extraordinary for you. Iʼm grateful we can provide you with our

signature Win-River gaming and hospitality experience, with enhanced health and safety standards.

Please rest assured we have worked tirelessly to implement the highest standards and protocols to protect you, and we will continue to work and refine our experience. HILTON GARDEN INN RE-OPENS! REDDING RANCHERIA

We are delighted to announce that we are now accepting reservations for stays beginning Tuesday, May 26, following our temporary closure. We look forward to welcoming you with the signature hospitality we are famous for!

We will be offering a limited dining menu at the Garden Grille & Bar during these hours: Monday-Sunday, Breakfast 6am-10am and Dinner 5pm-10pm.

We will offer room service for both Breakfast and Dinner.

Our hotel has enhanced operating protocols for the safety of our guests and our Team Members following all State and County Mandates. We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas, including lobbies, elevators, door handles, public bathrooms, etc., and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant. We have implemented additional sanitizing procedures in all guestrooms, and we have increased the deployment of antibacterial hand sanitizers making them available in all public areas. In addition, we will be conducting temperature checks upon entering the building, masks are available upon arrival.

The Community Health Department introduced a new resource for our Native American elders living with Diabetes.

We want to provide our elders an option to have access to food without taking a trip to the grocery store decreasing their possible exposure to COVID-19. We are prepackaging food boxes for Patients who are eligible. Each “Elder Care Package” contains a recipe and all the necessary ingredients to make nutritious meal. We made our first deliveries on May 5th and got some really great feedback. After receiving her package, Melinda Triplett prepared the meal and sent us a thank you along with a picture of the finished product.

Chicken or Vegetarian 1 lb. chicken breast cut into 1 inch cubes Makes4 Servings  1/2 can or of Garbanzo beans (1 can if Vegetarian) Chicken Vegetarian Prep Time: 8 minutes to taste  pepper 4 Servings CookMakes Time: 10 minutes  218tbsp.

REDDING RANCHERIA INCORPORATES “VIRTUAL VISITS” REDDING RANCHERIA

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Redding Rancheria Tribal Health Systems has implemented Virtual Visits. The Virtual Visits connect audio and video with your providers from any device that has access to the internet. This allows our patients to see their providers from the comfort of their own home.

The visits are available for Family Practice, Behavioral Health, Nutrition and Diabetes Education. These visits are available at all three of our clinics during normal patient care times. If you are interested in a Virtual Visit, call your provider today!

COVID-19 MANAGING ANXIETY AND STRESS REDDING RANCHERIA

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which is truly important this year. Especially during this time of isolation and uncertainty.

The outbreak of COVID-19 may cause anxiety, stress and depression for some people. It may seem overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children. Learning how to reduce anxiety and cope with the stress will help you and your family stay healthy.

When you are feeling anxious, here are some ways to cope with anxiety and stress: • • • • • • • • •

Take deep, relaxing breaths, stretch, or meditate Eat healthy, nutritious, well balanced meals Exercise regularly-get outdoors. THE GREAT OUTDOOR CHALLENGE REDDING RANCHERIA

It’s that time of year to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors!

Whether you like to walk your local trail, hike to a waterfall, run to the top of a mountain or ride your bike on the great trails in our area this challenge is for everyone!

The challenge runs from Memorial Day May 25th to Labor Day September 7th • Participate in a total of 3 activities to receive a $100 certificate and a choice between a Great Outdoor water bottle or tank top!

• Participate in a total of 6 activities to receive another $100 certificate and get a choice between a Great Outdoor water bottle or tank top!

• Certificates for those participating will be handed out on the first week of each month that the challenge is active.

• Take a picture of yourself with the landscape of your location in the background.

• Please pack enough water, snacks and supplies for your adventure. The Shasta County heat is on its way.
