SEASONS RESTAURANT Redding Rancheria

Win-River Resort & Casino held the Ribbon Cutting for the opening of a new restaurant this morning. The new “Seasons Restaurant” will offer a variety of menu items such as salads, sandwiches, steaks, pastas and desserts all inspired by the seasons. PRIDE MONTH Redding Rancheria

The term two-spirit is fluid, much like the identity itself. A two-spirit person is an indigenous person who can identify as a man who can access feminine energy, a woman who can access masculine energy or someone that exists in between a man and woman.

Before colonization, two spirit-people were highly regarded in their indigenous communities. They were seen as powerful people who were given special roles such as naming children and making battle decisions; they were healers, social workers, adoptive parents, marriage counselors, and psychics.

Today, a two-spirit person might include themselves in the LGBTQ+ community because of their gender fluidity. As indigenous people, we choose to celebrate them and know that the creator made everyone as they are for a reason, and they are all valued members of our community.

Twenty applicants who have suffered financial burden from Covid-19 will be selected to receive $5000 in grant aid. Applicants must reside in Shasta or Trinity County.

REOPENING LETTER 2021 Redding Rancheria Dear Elders, Congratulations on surviving the pandemic!

Here is our plan for re-starting congregate meals: Our first in-person meal will be Thursday, July 1st and then Tuesdays and Thursdays through September 2, 2021.

You will also receive one take-home meal on Thursdays.

Pick-up meals at the back door will also cease on July 1st, HOWEVER, you may walk in to pick up a meal between 11:30 and noon if you are not interested in dining in the community center until the end of July. After that, there will be no pick-up meals. Pick-up meals were only allowed by our grant because of the pandemic. Furthermore, grocery bags will be provided only to elders/spouses that attend congregate meals at least three times per month. (Eligible employees of the Redding Rancheria whose lunchtimes do not coincide with our serving time will have their meals saved and will be eligible for grocery bags).

Redding Rancheria Head Start and Child Care graduated three preschool classes today with a total of 25 students graduating! We are so proud of these students for being adaptable, motivated, and resilient during this unique school year. Redding Rancheria Trinity Health Center Redding Rancheria’s Trinity Health Center is pleased to welcome Aaron Holloway, PA-C. Aaron is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in family medicine. He graduated from Indiana University with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies along with BS degrees in Biology and Informatics.

Aaron is passionate about using his extensive clinical training to help maintain and improve the health and wellness of every member of our community. He believes in working with each patient to fully understand their health concerns and to develop treatment plans and wellness goals that meet their unique needs. As a practitioner, Aaron believes that wellness is best achieved when providers offer open communication, compassion and respect for the patient as an individual.

As a former California resident, Aaron recently moved to Trinity County after several years in Indiana.

In his free time, Aaron enjoys the great outdoors with his Labrador retriever including camping, backpacking and gardening.
