Redding Rancheria’s Giving Tuesday Redding Rancheria
Every year Redding Rancheria gives back by hosting a week-long initiative, Casual for a Cause. Employees at Redding Rancheria contribute a minimum of five dollars in exchange for wearing denim during the week of Giving Tuesday and to vote for their non-profit of choice. All of the funds are collected and saved for the end of the week, and all votes are tallied up to determine the final winner. This year Native Roots Network was selected as the non-profit organization to benefit from the Redding Rancheria match, and a check was handed to them for a total of $1,080! Great job Redding Rancheria! Always giving back to the community in a big way!

A Special Message from CEO, Tracy Edwards Redding Rancheria
As we approach the year 2020, Tracy Edwards, CEO of Redding Rancheria would like to share her gratitude for all of the hard work our employees have contributed to each of our programs in the year 2019. Tracy Edwards works tirelessly to lead Redding Rancheria in our endeavors by not only providing programs and services to Tribal members, but also for the entire community at large. Tracy says, “The Tribe is committed to continuing to ensure our community is the best place to live. Projects are going to benefit the entire community, not just the Tribe.” This message was loud and clear during the State of the Tribe earlier this year as she shared with many community leaders just how much Redding Rancheria has grown, and how much we are dedicated to giving back—and it is a lot! Tracy supports the Tribe “…so the legacy of our elders will live on for future generations.” On behalf of all of us here at Redding Rancheria, thank you Tracy Edwards for leading us fearlessly and victoriously into the New Year!

Turkeys and Toys Redding Rancheria
Redding Rancheria hosted the first Turkeys and Toys for families this year. This event was organized by our Chairman Jack Potter Jr., and his wife Myrna. We had approximately 300 people outside waiting to experience the Holiday cheer, as gifts were waiting to be handed out to families and turkeys too. Our very own COO, Stacey Carmen, was outside serving hot cocoa alongside Mrs. Potter and elves. Santa’s elves were inside administering presents to all coming through. We enjoy providing to families in our community at this time of year!
Native American Family Support Program 2019 Redding Rancheria
About the Redding Rancheria Native American Family Support Program: Are you an unpaid Family Caregiver? You are a Caregiver if you answer “yes” to two or more of the following questions that pertain to taking care of an elder. Group #1 Do you help pay bills? Provide Transportation? Clean the house? Prepare meals? Supervise the taking of Medication? Group #2 Do you assist with: Bathing, Dressing, Eating, Getting up and down, Walking, Toileting, or Supervising for Safety? You qualify for the program if the elder you are caring for is Native American, 55 years or older and lives in the Service Area. Please note: The caregiver does not need to be Native American, only the elder being cared for. (If the Elder is a current patient at the Redding Rancheria Health Clinic, then you are in the Service Area) (If you receive payment for your services, then you are considered a professional caregiver and are not eligible for family caregiver services). For Grandparents caring for grandchildren: (grandnieces or nephews also)
Services we can offer: Counseling, Information and Referral, Support Groups, Respite and Training. We work closely with Passages Caregiver Resource Center in providing workshops and conferences for the family caregiver. We also have a lending library with training tools and books on various topics relating to the tasks and trials of care giving. We hold a Caregiver Support Group on the second Wednesday of each month from 11am to 1pm. Refreshments provided. Call for location. Background: The National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP) was created in November 2000 by an amendment to the Older Americans Act. Administered by the U.S. Administration on Aging, the NFCSP provides grants to States and Tribal Organizations to implement programs offering a range of direct services and supports to caregivers of chronically ill, frail, or elderly relatives, or relatives with developmental disabilities. The program also extends services to grandparents or older adults caring for children at home. While there are emotional and social benefits to looking after frail and disabled persons within the home, research shows that care giving can place emotional, physical, and financial strain on caregivers and their families. If you would like more information on the services offered by the Redding Rancheria Native American Family Support Program, please call Ellie at 242-4594 Monday through Friday 7a.m. to 3p.m.

A Special Message from Gary Hayward, Win-River Resort & Casino General Manager Redding Rancheria
Another year is quickly coming to a close, and the promise and potential of the New Year is approaching. When I reflect on the past year, I’m filled with an incredible amount of pride and gratitude. I’m proud to share that Win-River Resort & Casino continues to create exceptional results and to surpass expectations, and that is because we have something that our competitors do not have, and can never compete with; we have the greatest people in the world working here. I remain in awe of everything our team accomplishes together, and I’m grateful they’ve chosen a career with our organization. I am steadfast in my belief that Win-River is pound-for-pound the greatest destination for our guests to enjoy in California and beyond. We’re in the entertainment business, and that means our goal is to bring happiness to those we’re serving. We just happen to deliver entertainment through gaming, dining, and so forth. Our work is unique in that every day is a chance to add value to someone’s life, and what an incredible privilege that is. There’s a story behind every person we meet, and every day is a chance to change a life. Simply put, our community is a better place because of Win-River Resort & Casino and our team members, because of the lives they have touched through their work and the special moments they create every single day. And what a powerful reward it is to know you’ve had that kind of impact on someone’s life. This is such a groundbreaking time for our organization. Not only can our team be proud of everything we’ve achieved, we can also look forward to an incredibly exciting future. We’re continuing to work hard on making our new project along Interstate 5 a reality. I cannot overstate how important this project is to our future, and to the future of our community. The new facility along Interstate 5 will provide more opportunity for everyone involved, from our team members to our vendors. Along with exciting new job opportunities, this project will also provide more opportunity to give back to our community. This is a project designed for the prosperity of the entire Redding region. Please always remember that compassion, love, and kindness are investments that bring out the best in what life has to offer. They allow us to create the best in every relationship we have. From the bottom of my heart, to every single person in our community that has supported Win-River over the past 26 years, thank you. I’m so grateful for such an incredible future together and many more years of working alongside our team members to do what we love: creating unforgettable moments. I wish the happiest of holiday seasons to you and your loved ones. Gary M. Hayward, Win-River Resort & Casino General Manager
