REPATRIATION OF NATIVE ARTIFACTS

Redding Rancheria

The Redding Rancheria was gifted three Wintu baskets and a Karuk Doll Basket from a donor that respects the process of repatriation of Native artifacts to their rightful owners. The following day, Cultural Director and Chairman, Jack Potter Jr. was then able to present the Karuk Tribe with the doll basket to return it to its rightful owner. Repatriation for Tribes is so important to restoring culture and teaching culture to our future generations. We are appreciative to be given back our baskets and honored to be able to give a basket back to its rightful owner.
