RMIT's Early Offer Program is now live!

Which means your Year 12 students can use their life experiences and skills for consideration, allowing them to be accepted on a lower ATAR and potentially offered a conditional offer in September for 2024 uni studies.

More RMIT course are on offer and we have simplified instructions on our website to make it easier for your students to understand the application process.

We have also listened to your feedback and included the option for your students to provide permission for us to release their application results with you, so you can further support them.

Students learn app development fundamentals with Apple

The first group of participants have completed the Apple Foundation Program at RMIT, one of only two Australian institutions to offer the initiative which introduces the foundations of Swift and app development. Over a four-week program, participants worked on Mac and iPhone to design and prototype an original app. Learn more

Southern Cross University has early entry and other options for entry for interested students.

Southern Cross Advance allows high school students to explore their future career and study options, advance their leadership skills and make connections. It also provides opportunities for direct entry, early offers and scholarships.

Sydney College of the Arts (SCA) Portfolio Day: online and in person eventTuesday 30 May 2023

Online

The SCA at the University of Sydney invite students to attend our online portfolio feedback sessions to assist with the preparation of their portfolios and application to study one of our visual arts courses. Students can register for any session between 4–7 pm to receive personalised feedback on their portfolio and visual arts practice through a private consultation with one of our visual arts Academic staff. There will be one 30-minute presentation at 5 pm for those wishing to hear more about the degree.

Students can join us at the Camperdown main campus for a short presentation followed by a 1:1 personal feedback session on their current portfolio to identify opportunities for improvement before their final submission. Students are also invited to join a tour of the facilities by current students, where they can discover what it's like to study at the SCA. Register here.

Indonesia in Action Day, School of Languages and Cultures

Friday 9 June, 9 am – 2 pm

Indonesia in Action Day aims to bring Indonesian language students from multiple schools to the University with the ultimate purpose of encouraging lifelong interest in Indonesia and to strengthen the learning of Indonesian in NSW. This year’s event will have multiple rounds of fun activities and presentations aimed at increasing student engagement and exposure to Indonesian language and culture. Students will also have the opportunity to hear from current University of Sydney students and graduates who have studied Indonesian about their experiences, insights, and how Indonesian has boosted their career opportunities. Register your audition/interview via our portal if you are applying to the University's SCM for an undergraduate degree commencing in Semester 2 2023 or Semester 1 2024.

New Bachelor of Agricultural Science

Sydney will be offering two new degrees in Agricultural Science from Semester 1, 2024:

– Bachelor of Agricultural Science (3 years)

– Bachelor of Agricultural Science (4 years).

These degrees will replace existing Science streams in Agriculture and Food and Agribusiness. Admissions requirements are ATAR 75 guaranteed (or equivalent) and no prerequisites. These new degrees will equip students with the skills required for professional work in the agriculture sector. Join our information session on Wednesday 14 June or arrange a presentation at your school on these new Agricultural Science degrees with one of our staff or academics. UAC

Applications are open

Applications for study at uni in 2024 are open. Students can apply for undergraduate study as well as the Schools Recommendation Scheme, the Educational Access Scheme and Equity Scholarships

Although not all courses for 2024 are available now, students can choose any 2024 course to complete their application and come back later to review and change their preferences as courses are added. All semester 1, 2024 courses will be available by August.

Applications for international Year 12 students will open on Wednesday 19 April.

UAC PINs

Students received their UAC PIN this week. PIN emails were sent to the email address NESA or ACT BSSS has on file. Students should register a personal email address (rather than a school one) with NESA. They can do this by logging in to Students Online. This will mean they can still be contacted by UAC in December when they have left school.

How to apply for uni

Why apply through UAC?

We know that students are unsure about whether they should apply directly to an institution or through UAC, and to increase their chances many are doing both. Not all institutions accept direct applications from Year 12 students but it’s important for students considering a direct application to remember the following:

• A UAC application gives students five course preferences to choose; they don’t have to apply five times to five different institutions.

• Having a UAC application enables students to apply for Access and early entry schemes: EAS, SRS and Equity Scholarships.

• Having a UAC application as well as a direct application will give students more chance of securing an offer, so long as they don't enter the same preferences in both applications.

We have an exciting opportunity for your students interested in studying law at UNSW! As you may already know, the Law Admission Test (LAT) is a crucial step towards gaining admission into law at UNSW. That's where LAT Plus comes in. Our Law Admission Test (LAT) Plus Accelerator Program is designed to help students develop essential skills required to succeed in the LAT. The LAT Plus Accelerator equips students with the tools, advice, and confidence to succeed in the LAT.

The LAT Plus Accelerator is an interactive program which helps students develop strategies for deconstructing questions, solidify critical thinking skills, and hone persuasive writing abilities. We also provide strategies to succeed in the LAT and empower students to achieve their full potential.

We offer students an immersive experience where they will have the opportunity to ask live questions, partake in interactive exercises, complete practice papers, and receive live feedback during the Program. In addition, we offer further practice papers and complementary written feedback to help students continue refining their skills following the completion of the program.
