Year 9 Drama - Narrative Playbuild

Year 9 Drama students presented their Narrative Playbuilding Assessment Task creating original and imaginative performances inspired by children's picturebooks. Both classes delivered engaging performances equipped with an array or dramatic techniques to help them bring their picturebooks to life on stage.

To all Years 8 and 9 Drama Students,

After the success of last year's Middle and Senior School Production 'A Series of Public Apologies' we are thrilled to announce our new production 'Scaredy-Cat' by Brendan Hogan a quirky comedy that follows a group of young scouts as they gather for a weekend of camping that takes them on a mission to build a trap to capture an elusive dancing black panther in the Australian bush. Not an everyday occurrence!

The production is opened to students in Years 8-9 and will be presented in Term 4, Week 2, October 18-20th at the NEW Bondi Pavilion Theatre, Bondi Beach.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AUDITIONING?

• Students should read the Rehearsal Schedule carefully. Availability is required for some of the rehearsals which take place on Wednesday afternoons and some Tuesday and Sundays closer to the production week.

• The Audition Package document contains a character list with descriptions and extracts of the script for you to read prior to the audition. No preparation is required. Scripts will be provided on the day of the audition!

HOW TO AUDITION?

To audition for a role in the Middle School Production you must attend the audition on either Monday 3rd April or Tuesday 4th April at lunchtime in the Middle School Drama Studio. Register to audition [click here].

Registration closes on Sunday 2nd April 2023.

Instrumental Competition 2023

Our 2023 Instrumental Competition entries are open. Of course, very few students would have a piece ready this early in the year, so this announcement serves as motivation and planning assistance for preparing an entry by the May deadline. All students are encouraged to take the term and school holidays to work on the piece of their choice, with their teachers, and submit an entry into this online competition.
