Dear Parents and Caregivers, It is impressive to see that by the end of the second week of a school year, routines are well and truly up and running, and students and teachers have settled back into the rhythm of being back at school after the very long summer break. That is the case on both campuses. At Bondi, we all look forward to the completion of the refurbishment of the Bondi Learning Centre, and we are almost used to the distractions from builders. At Woollahra, even the new Year 7 students have an air of confidence about themselves, having successfully navigated their first two weeks of High School. All activities, ensembles, sports, and tutorials are up and running, giving students the full range of academic, sports, and cultural opportunities to integrate themselves into the school's life. Final auditions were held this week for the High School Musical, Footloose. Mr. Hattingh is excited about the upcoming term’s rehearsals in preparation for the performances at NIDA on the 29th and 30th of March. The cast was revealed at their first full rehearsal on Wednesday, and while the 28 students getting solo parts are excited, one always feels for the rest of the students who auditioned unsuccessfully for these parts. They will be part of the various ensembles, but their disappointment is understandable. Mrs Bortolotti will post rehearsal schedules in this newsletter every week. Izzy Lowe of Year 11, the editor of The Stag, has distributed the first edition of the student newspaper for 2023 to all students, and I have included a link for those interested in reading it.

The Stag - Student Newsletter | Reddam House Sydney Despite the mishap of the buses not being on time to return students to Woollahra following the Year 9 Camp from Camp Toukley, the Year Coordinators who organised each camp could not have been happier with the outcome. New students were integrated into each year group, and the Year 7 students returned as a cohesive cohort. Old friendships were rekindled, new ones formed, tutor teachers and Year Coordinators got to know the students in their care, and a lot of fun was had with not that much sleep, all added to the mix of what made the camps so successful.

The first Parent Info and Cocktail evenings for Year 10 and Year 11 parents were held at Bondi on Wednesday. One area parents have missed tremendously over the last three years is the social aspect of meeting and sharing with the parents of their children’s friends on these evenings. We have never had such an overwhelmingly positive response, and teachers and parents enjoyed the evening. The remaining Parent Cocktail evenings will be hosted at Woollahra as follows: Year 8: Thursday, 16th February at 7:00 pm Year 7: Tuesday, 21st February at 7:00 pm Year 9: Thursday, 23rd February at 7:00 pm
