MASTER STUDIES IN INTEGRAL URBANISM

TYPE AND LEVEL OF STUDY

UBFA Master in Integral Urbanism is a 2 years / 4 semesters (120 ECTS) full-time programme, accredited by the National Accrediting Board. The course is offered in Serbian and English.

Upon completion of the program, students receive the title of Master of Urbanism. This study programme aims to provide future planners and urban designers with skills to create new solutions for effective, efficient and aesthetically satisfying organization and operation of the urban environment in a dynamic socio-economic and cultural environment with major impact on the urbanization process.

The study is realized within the following educational-scientific, ie educational-artistic fields:

- Technical and technological sciences;

- Art;

- Social sciences and humanities;

Total number of enrolled students per year: 32. Scholarships – 16; self-funding – 16.

MASTER PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Studio design project (17 ECTS, total 51 ECTS - 42.5%) which is the backbone of the largest percentage of classes in the program

- Еlective courses (2x2 ECTS, total 12 ECTS - 10%)

- Theoretical / Compulsory courses (9 ECTS, total 27 ECTS - 22.5%)

- Professional practice (2 ECTS – 1,6%, ie 90 working hours)

- Master Thesis, Master Project and Master final project (28 ECTS - 23.3%)

CONTEMPORARY URBANISM

• offers knowledge and skills for creating urban policies and strategies

• in addition to traditional issues of urban design, aesthetics and functionality of cities

THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE AND TOOLS for:

• analysis of the territory, urban design, strategic planning and urban management

• on courses, seminars and studio projects through a platform for work in a real environment and with topics and specific problems throughout Serbia

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS acquired in the program enable work in practice in:

• Ministries, city administrations and public institutions in urban affairs,

• private urban bureaus or community organizations involved in landscaping and socially responsible projects
