AUDREY GRAHAM

AUDREY GRAHAM has been a long time resident of Red Deer. Born in the Joffre area, she started playing piano at the age of 4. She took piano lessons for ten years starting at the age of 7. She then continued her education at the University of Alberta, and completed the jazz program at Grant MacEwan College. She has been a teacher, accompanist and performer in the Red Deer area since returning from Edmonton, and is highly regarded as one of the best jazz pianists in Central Alberta. Audrey just recently received The Award for Excellence medal from the Conservatory of Canada (formerly the Western Board of Music). The Award was for achieving the highest mark in Alberta for that exam period in the level 8 Contemporary idioms category. She recently travelled to London Ontario to receive the award in person, and met Peter Appleyard who was the awards presenter and a Canadian jazz icon. She also performed in the concert following the ceremonies. Audrey is currently working on completing her classical Grade 10 level and her Associate Diploma in Teaching. Congratulations Audrey!
