Another year has concluded at Rectory, and with it comes a sense of deep satisfaction as we graduate a class of impressive young men and women. Like those before them, these graduates are defined by the poise, confidence, commitment, and resolve fostered across their Rectory years. Evidenced by the range of topics they pursued as part of the Grade-9 Capstone project, and as witnessed by their leadership efforts across campus, these students are embarking on lives of promise and purpose as they commit to becoming their best selves and improving the experiences of others in the process. This is no accident.
Rectory is fortunate to have assembled a group of teachers and administrators who have dedicated their lives to the well-being of the students with whom they work. These individuals give generously of their time and their talent to fulfill Rectory’s promise to build a foundation of core academic skills, create powerful learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom, and foster strong ethical and social values in our students. With your help, our teachers have been incredibly successful in this effort.
The strength of our academic program, rich in resources provided by your generosity, allowed two Rectory students—for the first time ever—to take AP exams in computer science (they both received 5s) while other students mastered the art of video production as they took our Wolfie Sports Report from concept to completion. Other students traveled the continent on MELP (May Experiential Learning Program) adventures while, closer to home, those more artistically inclined designed the set for or starred on stage in our hit spring musical Newsies, Jr. Suffice to say, there is something for everyone at Rectory; your support makes this possible.
This year, thanks to the generosity of our community, we had three ribbon cuttings: the new girls’ locker room, Centennial Dormitory, and a completely renovated Fisher House, which was converted from a dormitory to faculty housing. With those projects completed, we have broken ground on the Brewster Odeum, begun renovations of Murphy House, and commenced improvements to the Dining Hall, soon to be named in honor of former faculty member George Groom. None of this would have occurred without you.
Driven by the continued engagement of our community, Rectory continues to make impressive progress on three critical fronts: people, program, and place. Our compensation and benefits have never been more competitive, our program never more enriching, and our facilities never more suitable to providing the exceptional experience our students deserve.

Renovation of the John B. Bigelow Academic Building to upgrade classroom spaces and enliven learning for our students.
Doubled the overall endowment in support of named Scholarship Funds, granting access to a Rectory education for highly qualified students.
The Grosvenor House front entrance and expanded Admissions Office provide a welcoming first impression for families and visitors.
Enhanced faculty salaries afforded by the $11.9 million raised for the Tang Endowment for Excellence in Teaching and the $1 million raised for the Faculty First Fund and improved Rectory’s ability to recruit and retain the highest quality candidates for teaching positions.
Completely renovated Memorial Dormitory to bring a modern feel to this iconic student living space, and the addition of a family-sized apartment increased faculty housing, benefitting the residential life program.
The construction of a faculty duplex, including one three- and one four-bedroom home, to provide much-needed on-campus, non-dormitory housing.
The construction of John and Millie Green Hall, housing the Smith Learning Center and the Hale Elementary School Wing, to allow students to thrive in a holistic, 21st-century learning environment.
The Whipple Brewster Tennis Pavilion offering first-class facilities for one of the most popular sports on campus.
The Wolf Den Student Center converted the old dining hall into an invaluable informal space for students to gather for work and play.
The Seaward Family Pavilion and Wang Amphitheater to create a central hub for students interested in a game of basketball, four square, or just a space to relax with friends.
Complete the Colhoun Gymnasium renovation and expansion to provide greatly expanded and improved athletic facilities for our players and coaches.
Renovate the Dining Hall kitchen and dining room in honor of John and Odessa Hunsucker and George Groom respectively to modernize the facility and expand offerings for students and employees.

In lieu of a giving day, Rectory held its annual February Is for Faculty giving month under the theme: Our Faculty Are All-Stars.
Donations to the Annual Fund for Rectory were received with tributes to current & past faculty. In addition, we honored our faculty with delicious treats, weekly raffles, breakfast and lunch from the RPA, and shared your kind sentiments with them.
