Dave Bennett Quartet

Saturday, May 18, 2024

Dave Bennett doesn’t fit the mold. You won’t find many musicians who are equally conversant with the music of Benny Goodman (the “King of Swing”) and Roy Orbison (“The Soul of Rock and Roll”). In fact, you may not find even one other clarinet virtuoso who breaks from his Swing Era repertoire to sing rockabilly hits while accompanying himself at the piano or electric guitar. Leave it to Dave Bennett to prove that sometimes the best way to move forward is to go back to the beginnings of what drives you. The Brighton Center for Performing Arts is hosting this presentation. There is no meal with this trip.

Saturday, May 25, 2024

Bingo! Is what you’ll get to say if you spot enough plants and animals during this hike on Lake Erie Metropark’s nature trails. Join us as we take a leisurely walk along Trapper’s Run Trail to look for all kinds of plants and animals to try to get a bingo! Each participant will receive their own bingo card to fill out as we travel along the trail. Prizes will be awarded for bingos! The time, approximately 2 hours, will be spent on a leisurely walk with frequent stops. We will conclude at the Lake Erie Marshlands Museum. The planned path surface is dirt and gravel, and mostly flat and level. Before heading to the Metropark, we will stop at Big Boy in Woodhaven for breakfast. All breakfast costs are on your own.
