Essential Eligibility: Program Levels 1-2. Empowered Gymnastics will teach children with physical and development disabilities, delays, or differences the basics of gymnastics. 2024 ADAPTIVE OPEN GYM

Cost: The cost is $2 per participant per program per day.

Individuals with disabilities are welcome to come enjoy our Adaptive Open Gym. There is no formal instruction and all necessary equipment is provided. A caregiver must stay onsite as this no supervision is provided. The Center Coordinator will monitor drop-in programs. No organized team practices. Waiver: All participants must show proof of identification, sign a waiver and code of conduct agreement upon entering a drop-in program for the first time. Any participant in violation of the Code of Conduct may be asked to leave by the recreation center staff member.

This program is not included in Fitness Flex. Come for a fun Salad Jar Party where we will learn how to make 4 salad jars! Each week you’ll bring 1 ingredient to share with the class and then we’ll have enough ingredients to make 4 delicious salad jars that would be great for lunch or dinner. GET READY FOR PRESCHOOL!

During this program, your 30 - 36 month old child will practice skills that will help him/her prepare for preschool. We will focus on separating from a caregiver, turn-taking with peers, following directions in a group, imitating actions during circle time and having fun with friends. Our daily schedule includes free play, circle time, art, movement, snack and story time. This inclusive group is taught by staff from the Frederick County Infants and Toddlers Program. Caregivers are required to stay on the premises. Please only register for one session as space is limited. If your child has participated in a Get Ready for Preschool group before, your child's name will be placed on a waiting list. In an attempt to provide equal opportunities to families in Frederick County, groups will be filled with first time participants and then the waiting list will be used to fill groups as needed. 50+ Active Adult Programs Frederick County Senior Services offers a variety of programs to help you maintain wellness and independence.

From speakers and workshops to special events and day trips; from enrichment and social opportunities to fitness classes and programs we offer something for everyone.

The 50+ Community Centers offers a variety of fitness classes such as strength training, yoga, Zumba, and line dance.

In addition, social, recreational, and educational programs are scheduled.

These include discussion groups, book clubs, film club, drawing class, and health and nutrition programs.

In-person programs will be limited as centers operate on abbreviated schedules during the reopening.

In order to assure safe and adequate distancing, programs will have limited seating capacity, masks are strongly recommended, and preregistration will be required for all programs and activities.
