FREDCO FIELD HOCKEY CLUB

5v5-7v7 Rec League and clinics for girls ages 7-14 years. Our teams are coached by experienced local coaches.

Team placement is based on age and skill level. Our coaches focus on stick work, passing, shooting, and offensive/ defensive (marking) techniques. This is your opportunity to include your child in an outstanding athletic program.

Our experienced and personable administrators and coaches will ensure your child has a great experience here.

Our coaches are trained in sportsmanship, field hockey skills, drills and tactics. They are dedicated to developing beginners and also challenging experienced players.

Our main goals are: building field hockey knowledge, teaching sportsmanship, developing and increasing fitness levels and being an all-inclusive program for the development of youth female athletes in the game of field hockey. Fee includes team shirt. Required equipment: stick, shin guards, mouth guard and protective eye wear. All practices and games are on Tuesday evenings. Registration deadline is Tuesday, April 5th.

SPORTS LEAGUES Football

Soccer

Play is 5 vs. 5 with a minimum of 2 females required on field at all times. Maximum of 15 players per team roster. All games are played at Ballenger Creek Park on Tuesday evenings. Format is NFL FLAG rules modified for adults, everyone is eligible to receive passes. League play consists of approximately 8 regular season games and a chance for every team to compete in a post-season playoff tournament. Game times will vary each week depending on team schedule. Registration deadline is Tuesday, April 1st. Full fee must be submitted by at time of registration to secure spot. Team Captains will be sent complete information packet and requirements for entire team.

Individual sign-ups will be placed on a team by the League Coordinator.

While its cold outside, practice your skills indoors. Boys and girls can have fun playing co-ed recreational soccer indoors while learning basic skills. The Division of Parks and Recreation will form teams. Sneakers and shin guards required to participate. Game times vary from week to week on scheduled day. If you sign up under Head coach’s child you will be expected to coach a team.

NFL YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL – SPRING LEAGUE

5 vs. 5 non-contact league, with teams of up to 10 players. Jersey and flag belts are provided. Games will be played on Saturdays at County Park fields. Practices are held one night/week at the selection of the head coach. All players are required to wear a mouth guard. Opening day is Saturday, April 9, 2016, game times vary between 9:00 am-4:00 pm (depending on team schedule). Registration deadline is March 16, 2016. Be sure to register for the park location you wish to practice at, see below. There is an additional $25 fee for jersey exchanges. Volunteer coaches are vital to the operation of this program. Tennis

ACES TENNIS PROGRAM

A perfect opportunity for your child to learn the FUNdamentals of tennis. We use low compression balls and small court sizes. Activities focus on building agility, balance and coordination skills (The ABC’s), while developing the on-court skills needed to serve, rally, and score. Prior to moving to the next stage of our program, these players will be able to demonstrate understanding of basic technique and maintain that technique during rallies.

Drop-In Programs

Players of all abilities and levels are welcome for drop-in programs. There is no formal instruction and all necessary equipment is provided. The Center Coordinator will monitor drop-in programs. All participants must sign a waiver and code of conduct agreement upon entering a drop-in program for the first time. $2 per person per program per day. No organized team practices.

All ages are welcome, unless otherwise noted. Children under eight years of age must be supervised by an adult. One adult may supervise up to six children.

Karate

Aikido is one of the most modern forms of the Japanese martial arts. It has been called a “gentle” martial art because it uses strictly defensive techniques of evasion, redirection, immobilization and control an attacker. AGE POLICY Program participants must be the advertised age for a program before the program ends. All age requirements are set to benefit the participants and to make the instruction consistent and safe.
