This is a general day camp. Spend your summer vacation with us, enjoying sports, games, crafts, and team building activities that reflect the weekly themes listed below. There’ll be plenty of time to spend with old friends and make new ones while exploring, learning, and laughing all under the watchful eyes of our fully-trained staff. Whatever you’re interests are…there is a week for you! Fun weekly water days will be held at each location. Eco-Adventure Camp

Do you enjoy getting your feet wet exploring streams searching for crayfish, salamanders and frogs? Are you tired of getting in trouble for getting your shoes too muddy? Come and join us for a summer filled with outdoor adventures. Choose from one or more of our eight camp sessions. Each week will include a weekly focus as well as the following core activities: creek walks, nature hikes, team building games, and archery practice. Transportation: Looking for an easier way for transportation to and from camp? *Take advantage of our transportation service! For an additional $25, campers will be safely transported to and from Catoctin Creek Nature Center for camp. Drop-off and pick-up location will be at Rose Hill Manor Park in Downtown Frederick. Parks and Recreation Shuttle Van will leave daily at 7:30 am and return at 5:30 pm. Have that peace of mind this summer and select this great feature for your camper. Eco-Adventure Camp

Session 1: June 18-22

Session 3: July 2-6

Campers will enjoy getting their feet wet exploring and searching for unique aquatic creatures that inhabit Catoctin Creek. During the week campers will be able to go: tubing along the creek (weather permitting), seining for fish, dipnetting, lifting stones and discovering crayfish and many interesting creatures along the way.

Join as we take a journey into the aquatic world. Activities will include stream walks, searches for streamside salamanders, water loving insects, minnows, tubing along the creek (weather permitting), and more.

Imagine a world without cell phones, internet, shopping malls, and grocery stores. Join us as we take a walk on the wild side. Just like the popular T.V. show but without the fierce competition; campers will be grouped into teams or tribes. Tiny nature lovers will be introduced to friendly snakes, toads, and frogs and their life cycles. Structured exploration of the great outdoors will also take place in the park with activities such as “Show and Tell” and feeding the fish.

Fine Arts Camp at Emmitsburg

Explore your visual talents, as you learn techniques during the morning hours of many forms of visual art such as painting, drawing, scratchboard and clay. During the second half of the day the focus will be on more advanced media such as watercolors, pen and ink, oil/chalk pastels, and painting. The week will culminate in an art show for friends and family on the last day. Bring lunch and a snack each day

Children will learn basic and advanced chess strategies in this camp. Campers will play in head-to-head and team play as well as an end of week chess tournament on our giant chess set. Children will be split into a group that suits their skill level.

Join us at our new dance camp! Our program includes developmental ballet, creative movement and acrobatics. Performing Arts Children’s Chorus Camp

Sail the high seas! Learn pirate songs, sea shanties, and world water songs. Play games every day (water games all day Thursday), learn World Drumming on large colorful African drums, and perform a concert for parents on Friday. Boys and girls will both enjoy this opportunity to play with plastic swords, wear pirate costume, get temporary pirate tattoos, and say “Aaarrrrggh” all week!
