Spend your summer vacation with us, enjoying games and crafts that reflect the weekly themes listed below. Weekly water days will be at each location. Whatever you are interested in, there is a week for you. This is a general day camp.

A $20 deposit per camper, per week will hold your child’s space. Balance of registration fees must be paid-infull by 4pm, Monday, June 13. Online registrations must be paid- in-full at time of registration. Camp Monocacy registrations made after June 14 must be paid-in-full at the time of registration.

What better way to start the summer than to spend it making new friends? We will be doing just that while making crafts and doing activities that build friendships. Come spend the week having fun and making new friends!

Action! Talent show week…students will be introduced to the stage throughout the week leading up to a stupendous performance on Friday. Games, crafts, making props and set design will be included in this entertaining week.

Fitness FUN-atic 

Color Wars 

Being healthy for life is fun with movement, activities and eating healthy the fun-atic way. Bring your energy to play active games, make crafts and explore a healthy lifestyle.

A ‘Survivor’ themed camp where sports, active games, arts, crafts, teamwork and a lot of fun, rule! During this action packed week, campers will split into two tribes, make flags, and be challenged in both group and individual contests.

CSI Monocacy  From fingerprinting, to examining the evidence, this exciting week will look at the techniques used to solve crimes.

Holiday Happenings 

Adios Amigos 

Some holidays are so much fun, kids wish they were more than once a year. Each day, a different holiday will be featured through an exciting exploration of various structured activities such as sports, arts and crafts or quiet and active games. Holidays may vary by location.

It’s fiesta week! Play games, make crafts, plus enjoy music and movement with a Latin twist. And what party wouldn’t be complete without a Piñata? Sports, art and other fun activities will be included in this energetic week.

For the high-energy camper who loves the great outdoors this camp is a journey into nature exploration. Participate in outdoor adventures on land and water through hiking, archery, geo-caching, and tubing along Catoctin Creek. Navigate the trails to hunt for hidden treasures using maps and clues.

Take on the challenge of a creek walk to find native wildlife and explore animal habitats. Hands-on activities include wilderness survival challenges, meeting live animals, conservation projects and outdoor adventures.

Into the Wild 

CSI (Conservation Scene Investigation) 

This week provides campers with the opportunity to develop and test survival skills in the outdoors, while also learning h ow to leave no trace during their outdoor adventures.

Common elements of survival will be covered, including shelter construction, fire making, and much more.

Follow nature’s clues and solve a mystery in a natural environment. Discover nature’s secret places as you become a skilled naturalist by tracking wildlife, dissecting owl pellets, and learning about the critters that are found in this amazing place. Be filled with intriguing activities and engaging games that end with a super sleuth contest to solve the biggest mystery of them all!

Campers will enjoy exploring the amazing world of amphibians, reptiles, and insects as they discover how these animal groups adapt to and survive in their unique habitats. Whether they are searching for frogs in the wet meadow or snakes along the wooded trail, this week is sure to be an adventure!

Imagine a world without cell phones, television, and grocery stores. Would you know how to survive? Learn the art of survival by studying the masters-the animals living in the forests, fields, and creek of Catoctin Creek Park. Learn to build shelters from natural materials, create fire from friction, and develop other fascinating survival skills.

Week 4: 7/11-7/15 Survivor  Just like the popular television program; with the help of the park naturalist, campers will be divided into different tribes where they will learn team building activities, explore the creek, hike through the forest, track wildlife, discover the keys to survival, and geo-cache for treasures. Down & Dirty  Put your old shoes on, get wet, and explore the watery places in and around Catoctin Creek Park. Campers will be introduced to the wonderful world of wetlands and learn why these unique ecosystems are so vital to the health of our environment. During our creek excursions, campers will have the opportunity to observe the variety of wildlife found in this habitat. Group games and activities will help round out this exciting week of watery fun.

LOOKING FOR AN EASIER WAY FOR TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM CAMP? *Take advantage of this NEW service provided! For an additional $25 per week, campers will be safely transported to and from Catoctin Creek Nature Center for camp. Join us for a week of science sleuthing through daily themes and eco-quests. Campers will become nature detectives and solve a natural history mystery every day. By the end of the week campers will earn a certification as a Nature Investigator!

Baseball America’s Pastime Baseball Camp  These camps are designed for all skill levels.

Each morning campers rotate through various skill stations designed to improve every facet of the game. Baseball skill stations include hitting, pitching, fielding, catching, base running, rules, signs/signals and sportsmanship. In the afternoon campers put their skills to work in a game situation. Participants will be grouped according to age and skill level.

FC Ultimate Games Camp is a “fun camp” where we put an interesting twist on traditional games. We’ll play tons of games some are traditional and some are wacky. Children’s Chorus Camp  Pirate Songs and Adventures at Sea! Sail the high seas! Learn pirate songs, sea shanties, and world water songs. REGISTER EARLY Early program registration is encouraged since roster size is limited. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Pre-registration required unless otherwise indicated.

REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION Confirmation sent via e-mail, otherwise your cancelled check or credit card statement is your receipt. You will be notified if there is a problem processing your registration or if the program is cancelled. Please make a note of your program start date.

REFUND POLICY If you want to withdraw from a program call 301-600-2936. All requests for refunds must be made 2-weeks prior to the start of the program. A $4 processing fee will be charged for each participant per program refunded. All refund requests must be approved by the Recreation Superintendent. Refunds will be issued according to the original method of payment. Registrations for trips that require pre-purchased tickets are not refundable.

RETURNED CHECKS A $25 fee will be charged for checks returned for non-payment.

AGE POLICY Program participants must be the advertised age for a program before the program ends. All age requirements are set to benefit the participants and to make the instruction consistent and safe.

DISCIPLINE The Division has a discipline policy for program participants.

In the event the participant is asked to leave a program/ facility, no refund will be issued.

ALCOHOL POLICY We strive to have a family atmosphere on our trips. If you choose to drink alcohol while on one of our trips please do so responsibly and make arrangements to have a designated driver for your trip home from the bus drop off area.
